You have to realize that people want steady and reliable these days. Messing with something I use all day is a bad idea. The new colors are garish and glaring. Dump them and go back to the old logo and colors. The app takes forever to load now, and will crash a couple of times before steadying out and actually opening. Then the loading spinny thing for the news channel spins and spins and spins... and spins... and spins, and may load, or may dump you out of the whole app and you have to start alllllllllll over again. #notreadyforprimetime ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — This is kind of a mess *2022-08-10, version 6.0.8* The app crashes a lot. Also, I got it because I wanted a way to view the TV schedule, since the website isn’t mobile-friendly, but all the app does is open the browser. So, kind of useless. Someone at NEPM must have a 13 year old child or grandchild who can design an app for you. ### 1/5 — What’s up? *2021-04-20, version 6.0.5* Used to be great app for listening to WFCR when no other options available. Now app just buffers constantly with no WFCR. At least the news stream still works ### 1/5 — Changes haven’t been well received *2020-12-29, version 6.0.5* I was able to pause a program and when I reopened I was able to move to wherever I had stopped. Now there is not option to move within a session, which is disappointing. Since the new look arrived, the music no longer loads - just says “buffering” so it’s unusable at the moment. Been like this for at least 2 weeks. It’s killing my buzz man. I agree with other Reviews too about the Stream should have more control to go back in case missed something, it just restarts if you close out and try again… or it did before a couple weeks ago!!! Prev(edited): The latest update appears to have trouble with OnDemand, at least for Jazz. Everything else including Jazz Safari just keeps loading without ever playing or even showing anything past 0:00. Please fix! I need my jazz fix OnDemand! ## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Love NEPM *2023-02-02, version 6.0.8* At my home in Canaan New York I can pick up 89.5 FM on the radio but when I’m in Albany I cannot unless I’m in the car. I downloaded the app so I can still listen to the wonderful programs when I’m in Albany or on the road . I love the NEPM news net work, all peograms such as OnPoint , Here and Now, LOE , BBC News etc , keeps me informed , interested and company all day . ### 5/5 — New England Public Radio *2014-06-02, version 5.22.2* Wherever I go I can have my NEPR with me- what's not too like?! Highly recommend. ### 5/5 — Great App *2013-12-17, version 5.8.0* This app works great. ### 5/5 — Great Out of the Gate! *2013-10-18, version 5.8.0* Simple, classy app for those who love NEPR. There's a button for a direct live feed of WFCR, the all-News channel and the all-Classical channel (start an all-Jazz channel!!!). There's also easy to use access to archived Jazz a la Mode episodes! A little more hidden are blogs and schedules. Very cool app for the NEPR lover out there! ### 4/5 — Worked after reloading app. *2020-11-15, version 6.0.5* I wrote an earlier review, though it doesn’t seem to be included here. The first time I tried using it the app was glitchy and then simply froze, despite a recent update. It remained unresponsive even after closing and reopening several times. I finally deleted the app and then re-downloaded it. That seems to have taken care of the problem and it has worked fine this evening. I was able to watch a program without any glitches. I’m looking forward to using it more. Giving it a 4⭐️ for now, but if all remains well the next few times I use the app I’ll come back and put in a 5⭐️ review. ### 4/5 — Selection info *2014-10-18, version 5.22.2* Nice site but I sure wish it would tell you the name of the music selection being played. Some days it just keeps buffering, hence, reinstall! ### 2/5 — Feels amateurish *2021-02-25, version 6.0.5* App feels like someone’s first try; cumbersome, poor graphics, navigation is odd, lacks common features. -It should have now playing for music data, not just the stream. That’s normal now for everything comparable. -The navigation is poor. For example, when leaving a music selection the player view is lost as is control over the stream. The user oddly must navigate back to the exact page just to pause the stream. -The color and page layouts are basic an unappealing. Functionally lacks logic and information on selections and option/selection details. The app is the opposite of the good experience I have listening to the on air station or using the web site.
