I like the game due to its feel as for the whales I feel a lot of the comments really don’t understand how these games work and are dragging it early. I’ve been f2p since the game was released and no I cannot fight a whale but Ive made good progression and have a solid Team of warlords from grinding the game gives a lot of opportunity I feel for f2p players in terms of resources gathering and currency being gained to speed up progression mafia city is way worst compared to this. I feel if u ignore the whales and play the game you’ll see the enjoyment in progression honestly I won’t say you can compete with the whales but eventually even whales get tired of pouring every last dollar into these kinds of games they move servers and spend elsewhere that’s when the F2P is worth it I feel this game deserves more time and a chance also people it’s strategy a top clan with 5-10 top members can’t be everywhere at once 🍻 ### 1/5 — Pay to win *2024-07-12* I started playing this day 1 on release and had definitely enjoyed it at first. The key word being at first since as time went on the game that mainly focused on clan battles was an interesting concept. When a clan who has somehow reached a high level when the game requires 3 day waits for mid level upgrades early on in a game and hasn’t been out for two weeks can teleport across the map and wipe out any free to play clan they desire because they put real money in the game ruins the experience. It is as another review said that the game is essentially wallet vs wallet and that concept of the pay to win made the game almost unplayable for anyone else. The servers are basically dead at this point except the few top 15 clans but anyone not in the top two are forced to serve the top “whales” who sink more money in the game than probably a real samurai clan would’ve had or just be wiped out and start at step one again which causes half the clan to quit or leave. Since servers are dead and there are no new players the game will be dead within a month or two so don’t even bother. ### 1/5 — Save your time and wallet *2024-07-12* The battle mechanics in this game makes no sense. Lightly wounded soldier will go back in the army for the next fight without any healing so 1 whale legion can take on a whole clan garrison. People openly discussing auto-click farming should tell you all there is while the dev laughs collecting your money while you “try” to catch up. If Koei did endorse this they should be embarrassed by backing this and if they did, they should work on taking down this knockoff. If you’re on the fence on this game, AVOID RUN DON’T WALK. ### 1/5 — P2W - Don’t waste your time *2024-07-12* This game is heavily pay to win. I love strategy games, this series and RotK specifically, but the folks that pay big money absolutely obliterate anyone else. I played on S1 for the first almost 3 weeks and that’s how it’s gone. Spent some money myself but it’s wasted vs how much others spend. I’m barely a gnat against them. Due to heavy encouragement of monetization creating severe imbalance, the game becomes worthless to play and the server is dead. Only play if you want to blow your money. Just buy Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence on Steam and save yourself money and frustration. Also, it’s obvious that most good reviews are bots. I don’t think their first server even had that many concurrent players or chat activity after a single week. ### 2/5 — Unbalanced *2024-07-09, version 1.2.2* There are no balancing mechanisms to prevent one clan or 5 players from suppressing every player on a server. ### 1/5 — Waste of Time *2024-07-08* Don’t bother to play this game unless you plan on significantly opening up your wallet. But the American server is all cheaters! I have dropped lots of money on Server 3 and still there is one player named Jzscz in server 3 been cheating over and over with hacks! The devs refuse to fix anything or promote the game anymore! ### 1/5 — Unbalanced Scam Game *2025-01-12* The entire content is a build up grind while you are in danger of getting looted. Building up commanders is limited to very expensive gacha systems which work with fake numbers and additional price pools that are not described in the description but will lead you massiv output of useless units 99% of the time while some units are just not obtainable by common means. Other events for cosmetic items are horrendously overpriced and lucky wheels with chances of around 0,01%. If you dont happen to be in an alliance with big spenders prepare to be looted regularely and lose all guild terretory, in this game 1-2 overpowered marches of one player can take down entire clans of players without issues. I dont see how these 5* reviews could be real, 80% of our server population already quitted or demanded refunds. ### 1/5 — Avoid - devs committing fraud daily *2024-10-23* The game is dying at the hands of the developers who don’t seem to care about servers outside of Japan. They hide behind poor translation to scam people out of money and defraud them on an ongoing basis. There is simply no way to enjoy the game without spending thousands of dollars. The devs allow rampant multi boxing and make it so you cannot achieve power parity without spending. Whales band together and exploit the game for money. Players use bot farms usually 6 at once to get ahead of everyone else with out spending any money. If you play the game correctly you are not rewarded. Sad because the atmosphere and historical setting had me and other players excited. The lack of innovation is sad. It’s a rise of kingdoms clone. 20. Other games like it on the market. Was not expecting this from a AAA title. If they fix the insane bot issue I would stay because I like the time period. Seems like they are content to ignore. Will change if something changes.
