It changes the date and time of bookings and it changes the appointment type. Zenplanner is asking ME to completely change our programs, staff availability and so much more. The AI agent refuses to connect me with a live agent. Eff off ### 1/5 — CrossFit Gym Kiosk Management *2026-08-08* The old app was great as a centralized kiosk on an iPad. This new app is scaled for a phone so if you’re using an iPad as a kiosk to check people in, check out retail items etc. it doesn’t look great and is hard to use. Functionality is the only thing that matters for a small Business owner using front facing management software and this new app misses the mark. You can keep all the new bells and whistles but keep some of the things from the old app that tangibly worked for us. IE the member check in experience, the retail check out, daily class schedule. The new UI ain’t doing it. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2026-07-19* The new app and updates seem to be making the experience worse for gym owners. After the latest update coaches are getting error messages for members that are not accurate. Please fix the app asap. ### 1/5 — The old app was better *2026-07-14* This new app sucks. For each class you have to manually look up each person to check them in, there isn’t a roster that pops up where you can check them in. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and we hear you. We added the roster that pops up where you can view all eligible members and check them in with one tap. Update to version 1.0.11 to check it out! ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-06-13* Very frustrating and limited app. The old one was easier to use and could do simple admin, this one can’t do the most minor admin tasks ### 1/5 — Waiting for substantial update *2026-05-27* The primary reason I use the app is for attendance (else I just use the website). The new app is substantially worse for attendance, having to search/match each individual name instead of just tapping a list of icons. If I’m missing that feature, it’s not obvious. I started using it once and bailed out early. I won’t be using it again until that’s addressed. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and we hear you. We upgraded the attendance feature so that you can tap a list of icons to check people in. Update to version 1.0.11 to check it out! ### 1/5 — A fancy wrapper on a worse app *2026-03-19* Way less features than the old app. More taps and menus to do anything. Filters don’t stay. Can’t view all client data, the list goes on. At least make it feature comparable to the old app. Needs a ton of work to be close to being able to delete the old app off of it. **Developer response:** Thanks for sharing your concerns and feedback. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Adds 2 features, ruins all the rest. *2026-03-12* The only benefits to this new app is the “shout outs” (would be nice if we could customize what triggers those) and a teenie bit more information visible from a students profile… Now to check someone in, instead of having a row of names and pictures to quickly select you must tediously type in names, and make multiple clicks just to get them in. Takes me way longer to do attendance now with this new app. **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Attendance should not take longer with the new app and we are going to make sure that is the case for you. ### 1/5 — Original Zenplanner is dead, new management incompetent *2026-02-27* Whatever you heard about zenplanner, it’s no longer the case. The app wasn’t updated for over 4 years then got sold to some new company that is somehow even more incompetent. That’s probably why they made a new app, they probably fired the original coders thinking they could do better and it’s worse than ever. - our zenplanner website is constantly 404’ed - app crashes and barely works even when it’s “functional” - constant glitches and problems - name search engine has no logic to it(this is not hard to program by the way) Go elsewhere. On top of being a bad product, I can only imagine how awful they must be as a company to have ousted the original coding team(the people that did all the real work). **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback and we hear you. Seems our time might come to an end if nothing changes soon. Every update makes things 5x more complex and 3 more clicks to reach the same Information. I understand growth and where you are headed but you took a functional app with an easy layout to now its a click through just to see the same info. Simplicity is key for small business owners who are busy. ## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Not as many crashes *2026-03-20* The old app was terrible ### 4/5 — Awful *2026-04-30* Zen planner has been a very frustrating app to use for the last two years, there’s generally always something going wrong with this app or even the software, I switched over to a new CRM and it feels like simple planner is something that was made in the early 2000s, it was frustrating to have to switch over, but I’m glad I did ### 3/5 — Please add “eligible” back *2026-07-11* We use the staff app at a martial arts school. The old app was great because you could see the list of students by face and add them to the class. This new version requires you to enter them by name if they haven’t checked in on their own, which isn’t always best when you have to stop the flow of class to ask for a new kid to remind you their name rather than just enter them by photo. It was also way more convenient to just scroll the list of monitors and tick them all off if they were present. Now you have to enter them each by name and it takes longer. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and we hear you.
