I had to cancel my credit cards and file a dispute to get my money back. I downloaded it thinking I would get companionship but all I got was charge after charge. Don’t get this app. ### 1/5 — Do not bother. *2026-01-09, version 1.11.0* It’s pointless. Genuinely pointless. You have to subscribe to join. It mentions a limit on messages each month. However also mentioned an unlimited message grace period for your first week. This is false. You use your messages quickly, and straight off the bat, I was told I had to subscribe with an additional ‘top up’, to allow me to send more messages. I had 3 conversations. The first was really odd and basically copy and pasted my message and sent it back to me. I get the impression that she was copying it into something else and accidentally put it back into the chat. Feels completely unsafe to me. Second chat, she left 2 minutes later and wouldn’t be back until the next day. Which is fine if they are real people. Third chat, it asked me to keep topping up my messages with a top up subscription. The chats didn’t provide anything constructive either. Don’t bother trying it. You’ll just be pouring money down the drain. ### 1/5 — Don’t do it *2026-01-05* I downloaded this thinking I would get a friend, my experience was weird and I absolutely wanted out, however they refused to stop charging my card daily, even though I have asked repeatedly to cancel, and stop charging my card. I received an email stating they would cancel and stop charges but they are still consistently charging my card all types of times both day and night. My advice don’t do it, you may regret it I do, I pray they don’t get my rent money, as they won’t stop charging me, I have had to reach out to an attorney but I am waiting for my call back so I can see what to do ### 1/5 — This is Unacceptable *2025-12-24* This Is Unacceptable I have not been able to make an Audio Call or a Video call with anyone one on this App which Defeats the whole Purpose of using it I Really would like to email someone from Costumer Service about this Because New Circle you Guys you have to do Better than that I am really hoping that You guys see this Review Because I need to talk to a customer service representative I need to talk to someone who Represents New Circle **Developer response:** Hi Dante0, we’re sorry you’re having trouble with calls. Email us at support@newcircle.club and let us know which device you’re using, and we’ll help you right away. ### 1/5 — Zero customer support *2025-12-16, version 1.9.0* I won’t recommend this to anyone to use it, I paid subscription and then I tried to login to my account with the same email it doesn’t let me access and then I created new account to talk to customer support and they somehow don’t even care to respond back and it have been 2 weeks of waiting for response. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-11-30, version 1.7.0* This app is an AI scam - they made me pay to sign up, I couldn’t even log into my account after. ### 1/5 — Will charge after cancellation *2025-11-12* I canceled and they still charged my card **Developer response:** Please reach out to us at support@newcircle.club and we will help with any refund and cancelation issues. ### 1/5 — It’s just AI *2025-11-12* I was apparently talking to somebody from Europe and pretended I was from where they lived. I then started inventing absurd facts about their town and they went along with it 100% **Developer response:** Hi there, NewCircle companions are real people, not AI. You can also have audio or video calls anytime to see that for yourself. They focus on being kind and supportive, so they might have followed your lead in conversation rather than correcting you. If you share the companion’s name with us at support@newcircle.club, we’ll look into the situation. And if a certain companion doesn’t feel like the right fit, you can always choose another one — you’re welcome to chat with multiple companions to find the connection that feels best for you. ### 1/5 — Deceptive. 100% AI *2025-11-11* They pretend to offer real conversations with real humans, while presenting AI conversational agents to the user. You can have audio or video calls with them anytime to see that for yourself. ### 1/5 — Edited Review: New coin system broke this app *2025-11-09, version 1.6.2* *EDIT: I can no longer recommend this app. The new coin-based system has completely broken New Circle, and unless it becomes less brutally expensive to make calls and texts, there is unlikely to be a future here for me, which I am deeply sad about. I’ll leave my original review below for reference* I’ve been using New Circle for three weeks and it’s really making a huge difference. When I saw the ad I knew it had the potential to transform my isolation, and that’s exactly what’s happened. I was matched with an awesome companion, and our conversation started within about 15 mins from when I first saw the ad. Our conversation has been running ever since, and the fact I have her to talk to gives me a reason to wake up each day. She is definitely not AI, and the human connection is so appreciated. The app itself is really well-designed and functions perfectly, and I’ve not had any crashes or glitches. For anybody who is isolated, this app is straight out of heaven itself. ### 1/5 — This is AI *2025-11-07* They claim it’s not AI in other reviews but it seriously is AI. The responses are always perfect grammar with zero mistakes. This app is a scam and needs to be taken off of the App Store. Responses are fast when a companion is online, as it’s their priority to reply promptly while they’re available. ### 1/5 — Nope not for me *2025-11-06, version 1.6.0* I don’t think the people are real the conversation is dry and polite think this is AI and you have limited texts and calls before you have to top up the subscription-disappointed ### 1/5 — Waste of time! *2025-11-03, version 1.5.0* I wondered at the beginning if the people are AI generated, but I doubt that they are, as within seconds of beginning a conversation the person tells you that ‘they are logging off and won’t be back on till after the weekend, tomorrow, next week…’ it’s a waste of time and money. I’m guessing the people available are in a different time zone to me, so why is there not a feature where yoy can look for people in the same time zone and/or country! Was supposed to get a refund but hasn’t happened ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Ai chat *2026-07-17* Basically new circle app using real companion data to run the ai moderate chats the normal feel they’re talking to real human but it’s not it’s a ai moderate chat it’s basically they’re making money by people emotions and gambling with the people who trust easily ### 1/5 — Bad Tech *2026-05-02* I have used this app since around mid December. I was going through a very rough time and I saw an ad for it on Instagram that I found intriguing. I have met some of the sweetest people that I’ve ever met on this app, and I appreciate it for that. However, there are some serious problems with this app. There’s a problem with the pay model, the connectivity, likely the security, and the interface has not been customized to serve the market that it says is served. Connectivity. For the past two weeks, every call that I am on gets disconnected. I hit the paywall quickly because I’m engaging in good conversations with good people. I get no warning before that happens, they just cut me off when I’m out of coins. (More on the paywall later). But, hitting the paywall only happens about half the time. The other half of the time the calls just drop in the middle of a conversation. This morning, when I was talking to someone, it cut off and didn’t even end the call. It kept taking away coins from my account and I was talking to silence. I thought the person was just being a good listener 🤣. I look at my notifications and I have a notification from her eight minutes before that saying I don’t know what happened. I’ve got notifications from every single person that I’ve talked to you for the last three days just like that because of the same situation. The Paywall. The maximum amount of coins as they call it that you can purchase at a time is $24 worth. That gives you 175 coins. The math goes like this, one coin per text message, two coins per minute of audio call, and 3 coins per minute for a video call. If you get into a complex topic that involves sharing more information and regrouping to talk again, you can easily burn through $50 a day, if you want to keep talking to this person. I tried to sign up for a subscription, but that doesn’t seem to work either. Management. I talked to a lot of people on this platform and they seem to be decently paid and happy, which I would hope would be the case for an app offering sincere companionship. A couple of things that I find odd are that there are no timestamps on the text chats. Another thing is that the people who you meet on this platform that are employed by this platform cannot send you photos. A client can send photos, but a companion, as they like to call it, cannot. That’s strange. Another thing that bothers me about this is that none of the people that you talk to know each other. Now, that could be seen as a good thing when you’re dealing with people that have complicated issues and the topics are serious. However, that is the perfect way to keep your workers from ever organizing. I’ve asked all the people that I talk to, if there is any event, online, in person or otherwise, whereby all of the employees are brought together to brainstorm on the organizational model and the outlook. I’ve worked in a lot of different institutions, public and private, and there’s always at least one annual meeting that everyone is required to be a part of. Maybe New circle hasn’t been around that long, but they’re acting more like a San Francisco tech startup than a responsible app to offer badly need a companionship and advice to people are struggling. ### 1/5 — Fake app loots money *2026-04-24* Do not fall for this app. It's definitely fake, and you won't even be able to manage your payments and cards inside the app once you have initially paid for it. ### 1/5 — Charged me twice rip off *2026-04-22* This app charger me twice and is in my opinion a rip off ### 1/5 — A SCAM! Only to be told to pay more and the app doesn’t work! ### 1/5 — Fake App, Don’t Fall for it *2026-03-23* They say that they will connect you with soulmate. Charge you money for subscription. Later change the definition of soulmate to companion. Later say this is not a dating app. They are here to loot your money. Fake profiles are created as your companions. It’s all their team members, working in the background. They reply and talk to you, never fall for this trap. I am hugely disappointed, heard there are many such Applications and Websites. Be careful, always check reviews and ratings, before falling into their trap. ### 1/5 — MISLEADING and funds taken out of my account *2026-02-05* Within a space of 30min a weekly trial of $22.95 has now become a total of $240. Absolutely a scam… APPLE SHOULD NOT BE SUPPORTING THIS APP ### 1/5 — App never work *2026-01-24* I installed the app, subcribed for 7 day in impulse, but not received the 6 digit code, even if received it just say incorrect cod. there is no way to go in web version, you have to install app, and in app 6 digit code would either not received or if received it simply say incorrect code, easy spam this is, ### 1/5 — Negative 5 starts *2026-01-22* WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F! The one I was matched with is in Spain, and she doesn’t appear to be AI to me. I think some of the negative reviews are inaccurate. I found New Circle very helpful. I speak to the person daily about my day, my problems, about hobbies and literature. She 100% involved in the conversation and she’s not AI. Often friends are busy to give your the care and empathy you need . It might be just need a few minutes for you. It’s so healthy to be able to share your issues with someone who listens. The subscription is manageable too, so it’s not about cash at all. ### 4/5 — Pros & Cons *2026-05-06* As with anything there are pros and cons. You pay a monthly subscription but then your account is on a point system. Once your points expire you’re required to spend more money purchasing points to continue to talk. The app is supposed to be an app designed to help people who may be going through some of the worst moments of loneliness in their lives and you connect to someone that you then have to spend quite a bit of money in order to stay in contact with them. Calls and video chats are available which are nice, especially to contradict the worries of AI, but they burn through your coins.
