Genuinely such a great app. Any news story you want and all of the information is there for you. Even silly things like how the Hantavirus is related to the Black Plague or something (don’t fact check that)

All of the info you need and beyond is attached to every story.. and the best part is there are these little tiktok/reels style videos but for the news that have sources and quotes attached to them.

..scratches that doomscrolling itch w/o having to actually doomscroll.

TLDR: The all-in-one place for people who want to know more about stories beyond their headlines and intro paragraphs.

Feel like I’ve finally found a news app for the current moment. Clear writing, rich timelines that show how a story developed over days/months/years, social sharing features, transparency tools and NO ADS make the reading process genuinely enjoyable. You can tell real humans are making the calls, which is refreshing in a world drowning in AI slop. 

And I’m not even a creator, but the story kits and creator feed make me want to be, everything you need to turn the news into content is just there.

Finally, an app that solves the problem of context-less news consumption! As a news reader, I don’t want to support legacy media any more than anyone else my age or younger. This app offers a platform for consumers and creators who care about evidence-based independent journalism to understand the news together. Here’s hoping it can help undo some of the damage inflicted upon society by social media platforms where conspiratorial claims have been allowed to flourish for the last two-ish decades!

• Follow creators. Tap Follow on any profile, in Voices to Follow, or right from the Watch rail, and manage everyone you follow from Settings. Tap a new-follower notification to jump straight to their profile.
• Search Watch. Videos now show up in search alongside stories, people, and writings.
• Recordings, reworked. Upload a video without choosing a story first and attach it later. Uploads keep going in the background if you switch apps, failed uploads tell you why and offer a retry, and the old size limit is gone. Takes you recorded on the web now play in the app, and you can download the original file.
• Watch shows the whole frame. Videos are no longer cropped to fill the screen. Portrait and landscape clips play at their true shape, with a soft blurred backdrop filling the edges.
• Coming back to the Watch tab now resumes where you left off instead of landing on a frozen or blank card.
• Going back from a story inside a collection returns you to the collection.
• Plus a fix for a wrapped label on the Watch rail and the usual round of bug fixes.

Watch is faster and smoother. Videos now preload as you browse, so reels start almost instantly with a clean first frame. The scrub bar is more responsive, and Watch now stays in dark mode for a better viewing experience.

Tap into sources. Story summaries now include citations - tap one to see exactly where a claim comes from.

Find creators as you type. Search now shows live creator results while you're still typing.

Richer creator profiles. Profiles now show social links with recognizable brand icons and the networks a creator belongs to. Creators can also publish an editorial policy explaining how they work.

Links that just work. Shared collections now open directly in the app, and network invite links show a rich preview - even if you need to sign in first, your invitation is waiting on the other side.

Plus cleaner feed typography, better-looking share cards, and lots of small fixes throughout.
