Missing stories. “Click Again” page and organization annoying *2026-07-31* Stories that appear on live broadcast aren’t findable on the app. And since there’s no search, it’s even more frustrating trying to find them. Additionally, as others have posted, you click on a story and the app takes you to the same headline again and have to click again. Just seems like a huge UI fail. So annoying. Then the organization makes it hard to find other top headlines. All stories are buried under categories. While I’ll watch the channel some, I find that I switch over to rival channel WMTW’s app instead when I’m trying to find stories or follow notification links. ### 2/5 — Ugh. New App Awful *2026-07-27, version 50.17.3* “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” The new app design is terrible! Too bad NewsCenter Maine didn’t think this change through. All of the features that made using the app enjoyable, like a MENU, are gone. It’s now frustrating and hard to navigate. The interactions of the personable morning team as they present the day’s new and weather are delightful and segments like the Stumper are joyful, esp. when the news isn’t. One huge improvement to this app would be adding the ability to search for a zip code or city/state combo on the weather tab without needing to add it as one of the five save-able options. Well they decided to update and now it is a joke! The new radar is horrible! Why oh why would you change it. I hate the new version and actually deleted it because it’s TERRIBLE! I did reinstall because the website can’t give me LOCAL weather, only Portland and Bangor. Previously, when I wanted any kind of news, News Center Maine was my immediate “go to”. However, with this new format, I cringe at the thought. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE app! The app requested feedback so I gave my honest opinion. However, the email address is invalid. The graphic for the weekly forecast is gone. What happened??? Please fix. ### 1/5 — Permissions overreaching *2025-07-14* App only lets you upload pictures or videos if you allow full access to your entire photo library and enable precise “always” location (even though that’s not needed for items from camera roll since they could have been taken from elsewhere and you type in the location it’s from anyway). Without those settings, the upload video/photo from camera roll buttons just straight up don’t work. I tried only allowing precise location while using and allowing select photo/video access but didn’t work. No way I’m turning on full always on precise location plus access to my full photo library just to share to a news app… Really disappointed that the news org that has done numerous reports on “protecting your privacy” has such a bad privacy setup in its app. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Screen size. *2026-08-31, version 50.23.1* Can’t get the app to open full page.
