They both always come back from school and ask for my phone to see the news o matic stories. They have been so interested in current events and they are so much more excited to learn. I love how they focus on exploring cool topics not just political news. They talk about space, how to keep a healthy environment and they also cover political news in a kid friendly way!!! They have made my kids like reading cool articles instead of playing video games. They let my kids draw on the app and they can even ask questions to Russ the editor. This app has made my kids love learning I can’t thank them enough. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2017-02-17* I can't believe that I had never heard of this app before! I am an educator - and there is no other nonfiction reading that engages kids like this. My third graders are begging every day to read the latest articles! Even in a time where the news can be tough to explain to young ones, I know I can always trust News o matic for balanced writing. Kids literally beg to read it! I'm delighted to use News-o-matic with my students, because it offers sufficient variety in daily content (something for everyone), I can adjust the lexile levels to meet the needs of different readers, and there are so many authentic ways for students to respond to text. I thought there was a free version, but no such luck. It wouldn’t let me create an account. No one in a Title 1 school can afford the price. ### 1/5 — Principal Concern *2018-04-16* This is a great app. If it were offered to educators at a less expensive rate than current many of our teachers would purchase it. This is a great app. Poor kids are locked out. How can you get this to us in schools for less The current class subscription is expensive for those of us with low income kids... and that’s a lot of us. Please help. We choose you get Scholastic. Be better. ### 1/5 — Not fee friendly *2018-03-25* This was a super app to use with multiple grade levels when it was free. Kids & families in poor districts do not have the luxury of owning an iPad much less exposure to current news. ### 1/5 — Need an account *2016-06-06, version 2.2* Downloaded and upon opening app for first time was promoted to log in. There is no feature to allow you to set-up an account. App is useless as is. Cannot log in until it allows you to create an account. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2015-11-19, version 1.2* This app gives good stories and all, but I still think it's terrible. They won't post your messages, no matter how much you try. I have this app, and I written very got messages, even a whole story once, and they didn't post it! They don't post your pictures either, and they put brown pictures LOTS worse than mine. I it’s my favorite app on my school i-pad. Because it’s summer, lately I’ve started to miss the app and it great news, so I went on App Store and got it. Once it was download, I went on to News O Matic, and then it asked me for my username and password. I thought it was okay because I know how to put that stuff in. I put in my school username/password and it said incorrect. So then I used my Mom’s Username/password and it said incorrect. Witch I do not know if we use the app in fifth grade because we barely used it in forth, but I loved it when we did. Long story short, I do not know if this is my fault or the apps. It really could be mine. You guys should really get this app, just know a good username/password.
