Once I looked at my battery info this app was using 30% of my battery in the background EVEN THOUGH I have “background app refresh” off. Not sure what has changed but I deleted it. It was making me think I need a new phone even though my battery health is normal. I’ll wait for improvements. ### 2/5 — Bring back WARN Radar *2026-04-18, version 7.1.0* Local WARN Radar no longer available on app. Why? It's still available on the News On 6 website. Please fix! More than once I’ve been in my shelter relying on the app video livestream only to have to wait for a video ad to play to get an update. This is maddening at a time when you are severely stressed and not at all receptive to a commercial offering. In fact, it does the complete opposite. Videos play on top of other videos. Old app version never did this. It is honestly embarrassing this app is so broken now. Now for the last week, it won’t load, just buffers, however, all my other apps open just fine, including the other weather apps on my phone. I would really like my channel 6 weather app to work again. ### 1/5 — Please fix the radar reflectivity *2024-12-26, version 6.9.31* Current reflectivity is stuck when using the play button while also playing the past/future reflectivity. It doesnt happen everytime, but still an annoyance when it does happen. This has been broken for over a year now. ### 2/5 — Weather ap. *2024-05-24, version 6.9.3* I have this ap and glad I have others (from channels 2, 5, and 8). First, the radar looks like a cartoon. But more important the map shows only what the PAST weather was and then it zooms to “now”. I am really more interested in where the bad weather is going and not the past. I really like Channel 6 forecasters and this ap is a disappointment and not worthy of the expert meteorologists. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — It’s worse than its flaky predecessor *2026-08-26, version 8.0* Where is the sun and moon data? Open for less than 24 hours and it hangs. At least I don’t have to go to a menu to exit the radar. This thing is moving backwards. More stupid stuff: it often does not update when brought to focus after being in the background requiring a restart. Also, on the Home Screen, white text over a white cloud makes the text all but unreadable. It is not user friendly, it makes absolutely no sense, and the way it arranges weather alerts makes it impossible to follow which ones are active and what they are. The new update completely took user friendliness away. I have only ever used the news on 6 weather app but I will be deleting it and using one that actually makes sense and will show me what’s going on with the weather ### 1/5 — Swipe between locations *2026-08-15, version 8.0* Please bring back swipe to change saved location. Then, a few days ago, as of 04/29/2025, it just quit working. I emailed the station got an answer that I would be hearing from you. Didn’t happen. With difficulty I called, got the news desk, the person transferred me to an extension. Got voice mail, left a message, no call back. A bunch of incompetent, uncaring people who refuse to take care of business. I am a retired nursery farmer owner. I could never have succeeded by doing business this way! ### 1/5 — What do they predict? *2025-04-29, version 6.9.32* Still trying to figure out if they tell us the weather or make stuff up. When I travel I will add a location to watch weather when I am there. When I am no longer there I want to delete it. I can’t do it! They notify me when rain is coming and tell me if lightning is close to me. The dislike ratio is not understood. It is very easy to navigate and has an abundance of options. The radar has customizable options that are valuable and not unnecessary. It has a 24 hour radar option which I adore. You can set up to 16 locations in the Alerts tab and customize the alerts you receive. There are 60+ alerts available that you can switch on or off. It has anything from the extremely important tornado alert to heat advisory or thick fog or freeze advisory. The Weather tab has a complete weekly forecast with an abundance of information below each day. I love this must have app to keep me up to speed on the weather or potentially dangerous storms!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ### 5/5 — GW Veteran *2019-02-28, version 3.2* Weather and war are predictable only by the most available intelligence, which changes in unpredictable ways. Oklahoma forecasters are the best in the nation. The national “Weather CIA” resides in Norman, Oklahoma. This app has never let me down as a tool for planning my day. Thank you Channel 6. ### 5/5 — Excellent app *2015-08-25* Have several weather apps on my phone but none preform as excellent as this one (personally speaking). It picks up where U left off - "excellent btw, thank u".! U can set all kinds of watches & or warnings etc.. To be pushed "VERBALLY" to the phone & U can understand everything said briefly, then go to the app & find out more!! I don't have time to be on my phone or looking out & around much - but when the "VERBAL ALERTS" "Sounds Off" (BREIF & CLEARLY) that I've gotten them set for, (day or night) - "I Do take the time THEN to check things out - for sure"!! They've been on target each time as well..!! Thank you for that BTW!! Navigation is super easy, plain out & forward..!! :-) U can set all kinds of ALERTS, depending on where U live or going to or just care about- example: tornadoes here, CA has more earthquakes & fires, & south have more hurricanes etc..!!!! Alerts "can or do"cover wintertime, summertime & the in between U may want..!! App opens back up where u left it - again a "Thk U deserved there"!! "Love the radar" ~ accuracy is perfect.!! :-) U can set your town & Pins anywhere you like, even on the smallest towns ("like ours" on a U.S.A. Map) & they cover those & not all the in-between places around u, unless u have the alerts set for ~Its unbelievable - "Love that feature specifically also".!! Mr & Mrs. Scrooge believe it is "money very well spent"...!!! :-) ### 5/5 — Great app! *2012-02-27* Love the hourly forecast with precipitation percentages, the web videos regarding today's weather, and the weather blogs are WONDERFUL! Only glitch I see is when there are images/pictures attached to the blogs (usually Dick Faurot attaches an image) - I can't view these on my iPhone... But, critically, where did the widgets go?
