Newspaper lets you edit and publish the moments of your day as a real "newspaper." No fiddly layout work—just pick your photos and the headlines, articles, and page layout come together automatically.

Improvements to the pre-publication preview.

  • Fixed an issue where the preview thumbnail could overflow its frame and overlap the text

Pre-publication preview
  An hour before your paper goes out, see it first. A card on Today shows you exactly how the issue will look, while there's still time to add a photo or a note. You'll get a notification too (turn it off in Settings › Notifications).

Faster extra editions
  · Customization saves as you go — no save button
  · Chosen photos now appear as real previews instead of filenames
  · One way in: the gear on the Extra tab
  · Fixed a publish button that sometimes needed a second tap

Better photo editing
  · When you tilt a photo, the area being cropped stays visible as a dimmed border, so you can see what makes the cut
  · Fixed the zoom limit shrinking incorrectly after a tilt

This release focuses on the extra edition, plus a round of fixes.

  Extra edition
  • The publish button now shows upload progress, so you can tell whether your photo is still sending or stalled.
  • A new button in the top-right corner takes you straight to masthead customizing.
  • Your uploaded logo now appears in the customize preview, and the stray rule above the title is gone.

  Fixes
  • Fixed a crash that could occur right after granting microphone access for voice input.
  • Fixed an issue where opening the delivery-time setting and tapping immediately could overwrite your saved time.
  • Made shelf search and photo adjustment noticeably smoother.
  • Removed misleading placeholder text (such as "Not set") that briefly appeared while data was loading.
