It's a nice app. An oldie too.

One thing I think is curious is that it still doesn't have a url-scheme, so you can't share a post with someone else. I'd like to see the developer create a url-scheme that can be used to jump to specific posts on specific servers, and also add sharing of posts and servers to the iOS share sheet. It can't be that hard. I get that it's niche but the whole app is niche. Own the niche I say.

Works terrible- scrolling of the zoomed text is impossible (Linux kernel newsgroups)

Articles saved in favorites do not contain links to relevant topics/replies and thus do not allow tracking discussions development.

Strange delay (~30 seconds ) in logs between successful save of config in cloud and news server connection

Unfortunately, it lumps EVERY message on the server into EVERY group. Example: I subscribed to only 3 or 4 groups. Every single message on the server shows up in each of the groups I subscribed to.  Kinda pointless.

Quando si visiona un post, i “punti a capo” non fanno andare a capo, ma fanno continuare sulla stessa riga.
Però ci sono, perché con Google group gli stessi post, si vedono con gli “a capo” funzionanti.
Inoltre si vede che ci sono anche quando si risponde al post.
Per il resto, tutto funziona benissimo.

As a usenet application it’s ok but the filters (killfiles) need the option to Delete posts. As it is, simply marking them as read still leaves them cluttering up the timeline. 
A kill filter should do just that, kill the posts, ie delete them. 
By definition they are not wanted, not just marked as read.

So you cannot save photos.  

At least it crashes each time i try to save a photo.  

Which makes this not useful at all.   For me

I have no idea, I have never been able to do anything with this app.  I will have to take other's word that it actually does something.  If you are stupid, like me, give a pass on this app and find another app which doesn't require a PhD to operate.

С проблемами разрыва веток и с кодировками всё стало намного лучше.

Аттачи прикрепляются к сообщениям успешно.

von Newstap ist, dass es sonst keinen brauchbaren Newsreader gibt. Durch die mangelnde Konkurrenz leidet Newstap an vielen Stellen unter kleinen Bugs, unbequemer oder fummeliger Bedienung und anderen Unschönheiten.

After downloading all the newsgroups, program disconnects while downloading the descriptions. I’ve tried several times and waisted many, many minutes in the process. It does this EVERY time!  Very frustrating!  At this point, it’s unusable.

Nie możnadodać kilku tożsamości do jednego serwera. 
W filtrach brak możliwości ustawienia by niepobierał określonych wiadomości. Jest możliwośćtylko oznaczenia jako przeczytanej oraz zawsze dostanie jakis kolor. 

Dopóki autor czegoś z tym nie zrobi, to nie pobierajcie. Szkoda czasu.

I used to use and recommend this app; but can no longer do so.  Starting a couple of updates ago, I started getting the authentication issues and even after contacting the developer could not resolve the issue ( he could not duplicate it).  I'm sure that I'm ever ring the user name and password correctly, as I can manually enter them on my laptop and access my newsgroups.

Beim ersten Start der App hing sie ewig in einer Meldung über die Übernahme der Datenbank oder so, danach eingefroren.
Nach Beenden und Neustart kommt nur eine Startseite ohne Bedienelemente, die sich nach einigen Sekunden mit der App verabschiedet und schliesst.

When iOS 9 came out it killed the old version, which I liked very much.   Shortly, there was a new version for iOS9...   it won't retrive articles so it's useless too.

... in 2026, with recent fixes, on iOS.  I mean, that should be enough, but it's also pretty pleasant to use, obvious to configure, uses proper newsrc files and ... really, there is nothing here to complain about.

I have no idea what others are complaining about.  Possibly setup wrong.   Anyways, I use this every day now, after being away from Usenet for many years.  It’s fast, the layout is fine on the iPad screen and it is easy to navigate.  A bargain at $4.

This app’s offline-first, explicit sync connection model is perfect for the way NNTP works. It even has newsrc sync. I love it.

My one big big feature request that would make me happy beyond words is the option for a monospace font. I use NNTP for technical mailing lists with lots of code snippets or ASCII diagrams and those just don’t render properly with the single proportional font the app allows.

Thank you so much for keeping NNTP alive on iOS!

Tolles Programm vom iCab-Entwickler. Problemlos einzurichten und einfach zu benutzen. Mit diesem Programm machen Newsgroups wieder Spaß!
