This year, around Christmas, I upgraded my cameras that now use Nexar connect app. Since I bought my first camera I have never have to pay for any service and with this new camera they want 9.99$ for each camera I have which I have front and rear so basically 20$ for the exact same service I got from Nexar Classic. I’m just going to revert back to my old camera and rather get my money back as I didn’t know I had to pay for service now. I wouldn’t mind paying but not that much. It sounds like you all just got greedy. ### 1/5 — Old Nexar is way better! *2026-02-08, version 1.2.8* It’s hard to connect, i can’t get the recording that i need. Everything is on timelapse. This app constantly is asking me to join the network. Which is the camera. I have an XR one. Nearly $300 and it’s a paperweight. The map doesn’t update. And if you actually want to see what’s going on while you’re driving, you have to go through 6 to 8 different menus to get the thing to show up. Should be an easier way to do it. It constantly disconnects from my camera, but my biggest gripe is that I can't disable the speed. I was able to turn my speed off in Nexar Classic, but now they're saying that this is not an option in Nexar Connect. This app feels like a step backwards. I've been rocking with Nexar since 2019, but it may be time to switch brands at this point ### 1/5 — Billing issues every month *2025-11-12, version 1.2.5* Every month they cancel my subscription for no reason. Last month I redid the billing process with a different CC. They got the payment the dash cam works then two weeks later once again they canceled my subscription and it’s only been two weeks into it. Three months in a row now that I keep having this problem. ### 1/5 — Wish I Hadn’t *2025-10-27, version 1.2.5* I have used the old school nexar for a few years (the one they’re now selling as the “rear” camera). “Upgraded” to the beam2 mini and it, combined with this app, are so. freaking. slow. It doesn’t start recording until I’m 3 minutes out from my house (which isn’t helpful as my driveway is close to a highway where wrecks happen on a weekly basis). The stream option is also slow. My old one I could live stream the whole ride and easily record a clip to send to someone or save for myself. This app/camera combo is such a slow runaround. I think I’ll just go back to my old one. Deleting videos off of it is cumbersome, but it least it works. And quickly. Check your options before dropping a bunch of money on one of these new ones. Think twice before buying camera from them. I was satisfied with nexar beam that's why I bought nexar one from them but it became a nightmare for me. I will never buy anything from them for the rest of my life.So feasted from the last couple weeks . ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Premium Price, Unreliable Features, Poor Resolution *2026-08-08, version 1.3.4* After about 32 months with the Nexar One, I cannot recommend it. I spent over $500 on the system and paid $9.99/month for LTE primarily for connected features like remote streaming and vehicle monitoring. Remote streaming was unreliable even in areas with good cellular reception, and I had contacted Nexar about these problems well before my most recent issue. Eventually, the camera stopped remaining available while my vehicle was parked. I confirmed the Nexar OBD adapter was receiving power, but support ultimately told me the camera’s internal battery was no longer holding a charge. That means an important feature I purchased the camera and continued paying a monthly subscription for became unusable after less than three years. What was most disappointing was Nexar’s resolution: a 15% discount toward buying another camera. After spending more than $500 on the system plus hundreds in subscription fees, asking me to spend more money did not feel like a reasonable solution. The Nexar One has some great features when they work, but reliability matters most in a device purchased for vehicle security. Based on the recurring remote-streaming problems, premature battery failure, and Nexar’s response, I would not purchase another Nexar camera. ### 1/5 — Bring Back the Old Nexar App *2026-08-03, version 1.3.4* Nexar Connect app is a headache. Every. Single. Time. I try to look into my app for any recent drives it ALWAYS makes me resign in. I have to put in my number, put the code in from the text, turn the dash cam on, wait for a blue light to blink, connect to the app. Like why??? Shouldn’t it be connected automatically already? I have no peace of mind anymore with the new app. I never have any idea if it’s actually recording or not when the whole point of the dash cam is not have to think about it. The old app ALWAYS sent a notification “Nexar Recording in the background” IT GAVE ME PEACE OF MIND. SOMETHING I DONT GET WITH THIS NEW APP. Not to mention the headache of having to constantly reconnect to the phone just to look at literally ANYTHING. The old app literally would still let you view your last drive on your phone without even being in the car. Granted it’d be very limited footage, if you wanted the full entire video well then you have to be near the dash cam while it’s on. Like I said, this new app is trash and I’m seriously considering looking into a new dash cam because of it. ### 1/5 — Nexar One *2026-07-23, version 1.3.4* Got the first model. Worked fine for a year and then started acting up. Not connecting or losing connection. It randomly stopped working. The camera does not connect. Customer support “tries” to troubleshoot but overall bad experience. ### 1/5 — Camera doesn’t connect anymore *2026-06-27, version 1.3.4* It was working amazing but stopped working I can’t even connect to my phone. Sucks to spend so much money and it go out. It constantly is chiming, announcing the stop and start of recordings. No options in app to customize settings. Get random notifications all the time on my phone of recordings. Even when car is parked in garage untouched. Trying to download a clip via cellular. Took almost 11 minutes. Junk app is getting deleted and junk cam is going back. ### 1/5 — Absolute trash *2026-04-28, version 1.3.4* This app has never worked correctly with my Nexar one and iPhone 16. The Classic app want perfect but I could at least connect to the camera. The app tells me the camera has to update and it will take a few minutes and it never updates. I’ve literally spent over an hour connected to the app with it open allowing time for the camera to update and it never works. Now it doesn’t even connect via wi-fi. ### 1/5 — Can't connect rear *2026-04-18, version 1.3.3* couldn't connect the rear so I contacted customer service after talking to them I sat in an open parking lot for about 30 minutes still couldn't update the firmware I'm currently in the process of returning the rear camera. The fact that it only updates on LTE and can't use your home Wi-Fi is so hilariously stupid. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect *2026-03-30, version 1.3.1* Always making the peeping noise when driving. they promote they took care of the issues so you could focus more on the road but i spend more time driving and being annoyed by the device trying to connect. This device leaves me worried about videos not being captured at all. If i went back to the time when i purchased this device. i’d go back and get the one i use on my second vehicle from amazon. It never fails, no issues, connects right away and it leaves me the piece of mind that everything is being recorded. for 400 usd invested on this device, i am a unsatisfied customer. The only thing better would be if it had a display so I didn’t have to go on what’s on the camera but other than that night, vision is excellent vision is wonderful.
