## What is Next Run?

The Gates of Hell have burst open.
Relentless hordes flood the world — from rabid hellhounds to towering archdemons. With every minute, chaos creeps closer… You must survive, adapt, and carve your own path to victory.

8 unique classes:
Warrior, Mage, Lord, Artisan, Leader, Necromancer, Peasant, and Druid.
From brutal combat to dark necromancy - each class unlocks a distinct path to triumph.

Every choice matters:
- Will you risk the fog of war for epic loot or play it safe clearing secure regions?
- Buy, seize, or forge the gear you need?
- Crush your foes, bribe them, or slip by unseen?
- Strengthen your allies or focus all power on yourself?

Core mechanics:
- Exploration & combat: journey through a procedurally generated world, uncover ruins and dungeons, and battle the forces of Hell.
- Economy & construction: gather rare materials, build, upgrade structures, and trade to gain the upper hand.
- Squad & progress: recruit allies, empower your party, and develop unique skills.
- Equipment & magic: forge legendary weapons, enhance them, and unleash devastating spells to turn the tide of battle.

Paths to victory: Conquer through strength, magic, economy, or cunning craftsmanship — the choice is yours. Will you be the one to seal the Gates of Hell?

Enjoy Sandbox mode at your own pace, or test your limits in Nightmare mode, where even starting as a humble peasant can become a fatal mistake.

### 5/5 — Deep and compelling

*2026-04-22*

Such a great game. Slightly steep learning curve at first. The tutorial helps and also revisited it again after playing a couple of games. The more I play - the more nuances I find. It’s a delightful mix of RPG, Roguelike with a nod to board game influences. It’s one of those games I pick up it late at night and fall down a deep well levelling up, deciding where to spend skill points, what should I craft, which of my party I should upgrade, where do I explore next on the map…. Look at the clock - long gone midnight. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2026-02-03*

Game is fantastic, quite a departure from your other excellent games. Looks like the interface needs some work, and there is way more depth here than appears on the surface. Could really use a manual, or a better tutorial but enjoying anyway.

### 2/5 — Normal gameplay on normal difficulty is absolute garbage.

*2026-01-21*

This game has tons of potential and I would love to see the devs do something fun with it. However, normal gameplay on normal difficulty consists of your face getting ripped off by an exponentially stronger Hell unit that spawns in to kill you looong before you have the tools to deal with it. Will update my review when the normal game no longer sucks. I’d give Sandbox mode about 4, maybe 5 stars though.

Edit: Thanks for a response! However the issue is not that I am terrible at the game. I found a build that makes normal mode trivial but there are like zero viable other options that are also still fun. My honest recommendation is to just either give players more time (a lot more), or allow players to choose when to spawn the next terminator demon. There is so much potential!

**Developer response:** Normal difficulty is designed around the assumption that the player is already familiar with the core mechanics. If it feels overwhelming early on, we recommend starting on Easy difficulty first to learn systems, pacing, and progression. After that, Normal difficulty is usually much more manageable and fair.
