The kinks in the system coupled with the fact we have to purchase add on items for everything leaves us very disappointed. The cost for this is exuberant. The customer service is terrible and although I have reached out to management a few times , we simply do not get quality service. ### 3/5 — More options *2025-03-10* I would like to be able to use my mobile device that the iPad version. Epic utilizes fingerprint or facial recognition login. Nextech app needs to modernize. ### 3/5 — Underwhelming *2024-07-20* A one of the “premier” EMR solutions, and one of the most expensive, Nextech is clunky and disappointing. Huge obvious improvements (FaceID login) are left unaddressed for years while regular updates are rolled out to fix unnoticeable issues. I wonder if these updates are just for show. Clearly they are not prioritizing high yield items (for our practice at least). This is true for the app, and even more true for the desktop software our office uses which is about as cutting edge as WordPerfect, if you can remember that. I am glad to have a way to send in prescriptions electronically by phone. That function was actually outsourced to a third party (drfirst) and works pretty well. I am a physician and former programmer. I use this software daily, know its quirks fairly well after years of use, and it causes me daily pain, although that was also true of Epic and Cerner. ### 3/5 — Mediocre *2024-04-18* I came from a better app. The disappointing features: 1- no ability to add a new patient 2- no ability to make an appointment 3- no faceID 4- poor picture function ### 3/5 — Ok but Needs Face ID, nextech slow to update *2023-09-07* This app checks some of the boxes to access info on your mobile device. It signs you out very quickly and they have not implemented Face ID to sign back in, so it’s annoying to use. I really appreciate being able to sign/send scripts while not in the office, that is the best feature. Second best is seeing your calendar. Menu system is very clunky and rigid, so navigation is pretty poor. The schedule is only accessible by swiping one week at a time, whereas any comparable app would also allow selecting a date from a calendar so you don’t have to swipe 52 times to see next year cases. At the very least, I should be able to schedule appointments. That’s extremely frustrating because I will get caught with the appointment slot I wanted for a patient taken before I get into the office. If that feature gets implemented, this would be 4 stars, maybe even 5. ### 2/5 — Need to be able to make appt in the app! *2022-05-16, version 2.5.8* Please, please, add a feature that allows to create, cancel and edit appointments with the app!!!! ### 3/5 — Needs Face ID and ability to do more on phone and iPad *2022-05-04* Seems to have improved since I started using it but there are a few things still lacking. I need to be able to write a note on the iPad or iPhone. It would be nice to have a way to bring the medical history forward or to top of Emns. Needs to be able to alert patient to update the medical history. And why is fingerprint or facial recognition not an option? There is a lot of room for mobile improvement. I need to be able to make appointments from for app when on call. If I can check schedule to fit a patient in, I need to be able to place them in a slot before office opens and fills that slot. ### 2/5 — Limited use *2022-02-27* Unable to schedule/cancel appts from phone. The phone version is awful. Now, you cannot! Which is ultimately really frustrating and I don’t understand why or how that is beneficial especially when working fast. Clearly not a security issue since other EMRs (epic, etc) have no problem allowing it. ### 1/5 — Not made for aesthetic surgery *2023-11-01* The photo uploaded is terrible. The app itself does not have a robust photo management. We have it setup to work with Rx photo and its a disaster. Photo’s always upload with error if uploaded via camera. Photos taken from the phone and ipad sometimes do not even save. I have used it since 2016 and it was ok the first 2 years and since 2018 it gives me some error every day. Last month I was not able to see any if my patients photos for a full month. There is always and excuse and its escalated a higher tier person who can’t seem to fix it and keeps escalating to yet another higher up person who seem to be as clueless as the person before. Everything you ask the support, the answer is “that feature is a limitation of the platform. “ Do not fall into the low price trap. Don’t get me even started on their RX module m..absolutely bananas🤯😡🤬🤮 I have been looking at some alternatives. ### 1/5 — Biometric Login *2023-09-28, version 2.7.6* For the love of Pete, add biometric access!! ### 1/5 — Looks great, doesn’t work *2023-09-11* Conceptually, the Nextech suite of products looks amazing. Unfortunately, nothing works. They have multiple different products, none of which integrate with one another. It is a disaster. Truly, they have done so many innovative things to allow me to practice from afar and have also improved many other aspects. Their team has continued to ask for input and related their work to the users effectively. Compared to my colleagues who use other systems, Nextech has nailed it while the others didn’t. ### 5/5 — Great update on the photo taking feature *2018-09-19, version 1.69* This app has been invaluable for our practice when we implemented in the EMR. I do wish the schedule was visualized more like the desktop version however. It is good if you’re looking at a single provider, but when looking at multiple providers, it is unwieldy and not useful. I still have providers looking for their desktop in order to view the schedule, which is a hassle when you have only so many licenses. ### 5/5 — Awesome *2013-04-15, version 0.81* I work with this app all day everyday it is great to see patients we love it!!! ### 5/5 — Great app *2013-03-22, version 0.79* This is a great application and a MUST HAVE for anyone using the Nextech software. Everyone of our providers and medical staff has an iPad with this application. From taking patient photos, review charts and noting in the room it just makes seeing patients so easy and fast! Is this possible? ### 4/5 — Significantly improved App *2013-03-25, version 0.79* A pretty good app. Given that Nextech has overcome many obstacles to integrate the iPad app with the Windows OS program it is quite a feat. There are certain features that I truly enjoy about the app, but there are still some drawbacks. From my experience with the company, I know that Nextech will continue to work to improve the functionality. Below are some of the great uses for the app. 1. You can effortlessly take photos on the iPad and it will import directly into the patient’s record. This is a very nice feature. 2. Preview your previous notes whether they are scanned as a PDF or as a native Nextech note. 3. You can view labs as PDFs easily on the iPad. 4. The schedule is a nice feature to view where patients are in your rooms even though it does not have the full functionality of the room manager. That being said I feel it works well. I do not write notes on the app because I feel it takes too much time and effort, but I do feel that this is a vital tool to help utilize the full functionality of the Nextech software. I am glad I have purchased it and I am certain that it will continue to improve as they get more feedback. ### 3/5 — Needs REAL updates *2025-06-28* I cannot believe how outdated the word processor is. It needs a good grammar check. The Mac version constantly logs me out with me losing the current work.
