I can’t even switch between arenas without being told I don’t have access. I emailed tech support and haven’t gotten a reply ### 3/5 — Getting better *2024-12-06* Third year with this app and it’s getting better. Entry is still rough around the edges but live results are much better. I paid $20 for the event and it is frustrating that I can’t take screen shots of the barrel splits to send to my kid and her trainer. It would have been nice to have the live results and not have to pay the subscription to see it. That should be a host package deal. ### 1/5 — Awesome app but needs other breeds! *2024-08-15* Doesn't recognize APHC (Appaloosa) as a breed so when used in a rodeo app cannot add any of the lineage or recognize her as a registered horse:( needs to recognize other breeds! ### 1/5 — Not user friendly *2024-08-15* Just used this app for the first time at a week long barrel race. App was only good to see where they were in the draw, results that were finalized never loaded properly and kept defaulting to results earlier in the week and needing to pay $25 to see live results is odd. I am not confident that the live results would have worked had I paid the $25 based off how the app performed for everything else. I have used other apps that work much better than this one. ### 1/5 — Stay away.. instant competitor piss off. *2024-08-12* Brutal app! Keep this thing away from events. Just garbage! ### 1/5 — Use Rodeo Results *2024-07-14* We used Nextgen for a while until they started charging $5 per entry. That gets expensive really quickly, and the software isn't worth it. We demoed Rodeo Results, and it made Nextgen look ridiculous. Rodeo Results is reasonably priced, has fundraising abilities to make the cost up, and is way more simplistic/user-friendly for us and the contestants. Use Rodeo Results. ### 3/5 — Always Updating *2024-07-06* This is the only app that requires me to “update” before I can enter. This can take some time to complete. **Developer response:** We are consistently working to improve the app and enhance user experience. Nearly every single time I use this app to enter there is an issue or a glitch. Not to mention the expense it costs to use all the features of this app. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I told a friend the other day I was about to not to enter another barrel race that used NextGen for entries. I ended up entering another barrel race, and again there was an issue. So frustrating. It’s fine for entering anything you don’t have to pay for such as a rodeo where you pay fees on site, but this app has cost me an excessive amount of time from having to call customer service in addition to unnecessary extra fees. I’m over it. **Developer response:** Hi! There is no fee when entering when using NextGen. The fee you might be talking about is the credit card fee, which is charged and paid to the credit card company, not Nextgen Rodeo. The app freezes every few seconds and more often than not I have to close the app completely and restart it. Really annoying when I try to see what’s coming up and want to set it to notify me when entries open and I have to keep restarting the app. ### 1/5 — Unimpressed *2025-12-17, version 2.15.4* I would give it zero stars if I could. This app is a joke and embarrassing to rodeo. Seems like every time I open the app it needs to be updated before I can proceed with what I was wanting to do. The navigation is confusing for finding results, live events and entering. It often glitches when I want to look at the draw or jumps back to the top when I’m scrolling through a draw. The fees to view a run are over priced and it’s not even from angles that are beneficial for my event 90% of the time. There are so many additional fees that depending on what the entry costs you may be paying an additional $75-100 on top of an already steep entry fee. Not to mention the numerous times I’ve been at an event and they are using the nexgen software and it crashes so they have to stop the event and get support. Calling tech support for issues on my end would be a waste of time too. Saves phone battery & data by not having to be following a live stream for the draw & is quick and easy to go into for what draw they’re on when you’re back at trailers. Would have liked to have been able to see live results without having to pay as this is the only event I utilized this for this year but that’s ok. ### 5/5 — NextGen Rodeo *2024-07-23* I use the NextGen Rodeo App from the producer side and have not found anything better! It is user friendly and easy to see entry names and contact information. If an issue arises, their customer service is top notch! This is an all in one app that ties in your scoring, results and video board production.
