### 5/5 — Free and easy!

*2026-06-24*

I no longer go to the train station and hope for the best. My lock screen always has the current info so I don’t have to take multiple steps to find out when the next train is. It’s like my phone reads my mind.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-06-11

NextTransit Pro is here!

Upgrade once to unlock more from your commute:

• Track two commutes at once — add a second station or even a second transit system, and see them both at a glance.

• New large home screen widget — both of your commutes, side by side, without opening the app.

Plus improvements for everyone:

• Live departure indicator now shows in widgets for CTA, BART, and WMATA.
• Transit system names now appear in commute headers, so it's always clear which system you're looking at — in the app and in widgets.
• Fixed the station order when adding a destination so it matches the station picker.

Thanks for riding with us!

### 1.8 — 2026-05-16

You can now tell at a glance whether a departure is a live prediction or just the published schedule: live trains are marked with an icon, while scheduled times appear without an "on time" claim. NJ Transit and WMATA Metrorail also stream real-time departures for the first time. LIRR has been overhauled to fix missing trains on branches that moved to Grand Central Madison, with additional bug fixes for PATCO and MBTA Commuter Rail.

### 1.7 — 2026-04-14

Station updates and corrections.

### 1.4 — 2026-03-10

Improved station selection for BART and WMATA/Washington DC Metro (thanks to Jason Morrow for product improvement tips). Color and typography fixes and improvements.

### 1.3 — 2026-03-04

NextTransit now supports 12 rail systems across six metro areas (with more on the way): New York (MTA Metro-North, LIRR, NJ Transit), Philadelphia (SEPTA Regional Rail, NJ Transit, PATCO Speedline), Boston (MBTA Commuter Rail, The T), Washington DC (WMATA Metrorail), Chicago (CTA Rail, Metra), and San Francisco Bay Area (BART, Caltrain). Works on iOS 18+
