## What is NFC Shortcuts | Automation?

** Only Works on iPhone. (7 or newer!) **

Ever wanted to automate your life with NFC (Near Field Communication) tags? Well now you can! Even if you have an iPhone 7 or X you can use this app to scan (or write to) any NFC tag and trigger a shortcut. NFC tags are also incredibly cheap now. It's that easy.

Some incredible use cases:
Put a NFC Tag on your television or Apple TV to turn it on, open a specific app, resume a show, play any song, playlist or podcast, or even turn it off.
Put a NFC Tag on your bedside table to set the alarm to ring at a specific time or for example 7 hours later or even just turn on Do not disturb automatically.
Put a NFC Tag on your speaker to automatically set the volume to 100% and play anything you want automatically.
Put a NFC Tag next to your cup and every time you fill it in, record it on your favorite water measurement app.
Put a NFC Tag on your iPhone Car holder so every time you place it there it'll for example start your favorite playlist, get directions to a specific place or even share an ETA.

Control your house. Mix NFC Tags, Siri Shortcuts and HomeKit

All of this and more just by holding your phone near the tag, just like if you were making a contactless payment.

How to?
Then just write the name of the shortcut you want to run on the NFC Tag and that's it. The app will take care of the rest!

And also, you can have as many shortcuts as you want triggered by a single NFC tag. The app will intelligently ask you which want you want to execute.

Includes Today Extension for quick launch.

About Privacy: This app is paid because we don't share anything with anyone. You won't get ads and the app doesn't connect to the internet. Ever.
Your privacy matters to us. If we made the app free, we would have to compromise on something else to get paid. This way, you buy the app and it's yours, forever, without ads or compromises.

### 1/5 — No no no

*2020-10-25*

It will write and it will read it has no examples of any ‘shortcuts’ to simply click on waste of 99 pence

### 5/5 — Exactly as promised

*2020-10-22*

We all already know that Apple choose to limit the NFC abilities of iphones 7 to X. So do not expect this app to fix those issues.

But it does provide a working bridge, that is quite easy to implement. I was able to write AirPods to a tag, scan it, and have a shortcut repair my airpods to my phone. I stick the NFC on the airpods, and it works well enough.

### 3/5 — Great but

*2020-10-19*

I can’t get this to run unless app is open help me

### 1/5 — NTAG215

*2020-07-04*

Not compatible with NTAG215

### 3/5 — Good app but it hangs

*2020-03-06*

As title states, it just hangs until I kill ALL running apps on my iPhone X

**Developer response:** Hey Michael,
so you don't have to kill all running apps, however, due to a limitation on the way iOS reads NFC tags you can't have two apps simultaneously reading tags, which was probably the case, hence why you had to kill the other one, otherwise iOS will report the NFC Reader as being busy and it won't give this app control over it.
Let us know if we can help!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-03-02*

App works great and allows me to use iPhone X to run shortcuts from nfc triggers as described.

### 1/5 — Rip Off

*2020-02-26*

Tried it on 6 different RFIDs and wouldn’t read any of the. Doesn’t work on iPhone 7 while the description clearly states that it does

Maybe you could provide a link to a tag that works and I wouldn’t have to blindly guess.

**Developer response:** Hello! The app might not work with every single RFID tags, and that's something we cannot do anything about for now, but it does work on iPhone 7 as the description says. We suggest maybe trying new NFC Tags, that work with iPhone or, if you need help, you can contact us directly at our support website.

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2020-01-11*

After searching for hours on the App Store/internet for an iPhone NFC reader that reads siri shortcuts I found this.

It’s a great app that lets you use shortcuts, you write the shortcut to the NFC tag and then when you scan it, it displays the shortcut and does what you asked.

For example my shortcut says “ turn lights on” meaning turn my bedroom light on using Siri Shortcuts, I can do this with hey Siri or I can get the nfc tag to display the shortcut and then do it for me. It’s simple just write the command or commands to the nfc tag and then read it and it will activate Siri Shortcuts app for you as you scan it.

5 star app. I probably went into more detail than needed on a review but for those who have never used NFC, trust me this app is great. Hope they keep updating it. Thanks. Works great for my iPhone 8.

### 3/5 — It’s good for what it does

*2019-12-18*

By clicking help it tells you what happens, The only problem is that you have to close the shortcuts and this app before scanning again. Even then, there’s a chance it just won’t scan.

**Developer response:** Hello! After clicking the "Help" button you can just tap on the center of the screen (Where it says "Tap to Scan") to scan again! No need to close or reopen the app :)
Thank you!

### 1/5 — Problems reading tags

*2019-12-12*

I have an iPhone 7 plus. The other nfc programs I have don’t have any problem reading/writing nfc tags ( I have used several varieties of tags). This program appeared to have some impressive functions unfortunately it will not read/write on any tag I have used.
