### 1/5 — Terrible app that shouldn’t exist

*2025-01-23, version 1.0.2*

Many officials and coaches frequently have problems initially accessing the books. But that's just the beginning of the app's problems:

- The app signs you out without warning, blocking access to the books. You can’t sign back in if internet access is unavailable, such as sometimes happens in locker rooms during pregame or halftime.
Text doesn’t reflow according to screen size, which often makes it either too small or requires lots of horizontal scrolling.
- Can’t scroll or zoom while moving through search results.
- Can’t view list of books in a list. As icons, the names are cut off after the first few letters, making hard to tell, for example, a rule book from a case book.
- Can’t read the books on a computer, which would be more productive than a phone when studying the rules.

There are more problems besides these, all contributing to the app's one-star rating on both Apple's and Google’s stores. The saddest part is that all phones, whether Android or Apple, and all PCs and Macs, have excellent e-book readers built right in, which have none of these problems. The NFHS could easily take advantage of them by simply distributing the rule books as e-books.

The NFHS should abandon using a poor quality, proprietary app. Sports are best when officials, coaches, and players know the rules. Let’s stop make it difficult for them.

### 1/5 — Worst App Ever

*2025-01-02, version 1.0.2*

You can do nothing with this app except sign up. Worst app ever. Only giving 1 star because I have to.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-12-22, version 1.0.2*

Unable to search for anything. App has zero utility.

### 1/5 — A HORRENDOUS APP - DO NOT USE

*2024-12-17*

The NFHS Education Committee should be embarrassed by this app. When officials are expected to stay up to date on complex rule changes to force them to navigate a vehicle so unusable then there is no reason to believe in the organization.

This app is a hurdle for officials not something constructive to make sure we are knowledgeable.

### 1/5 — app doesn’t work at all

*2024-12-11, version 1.0.2*

this makes me sad. its hard enough to keep up with rules, especially when apps like this do not work.

### 1/5 — Where is the material?

*2024-10-31, version 1.0.2*

There is nothing to access in this app. Search results yield nothing. Bueler?

### 1/5 — Will not load your books

*2024-10-31, version 1.0.2*

This app is horrible. I have done everything that I have been told to do.
Delete, reinstall, etc. this app does not work. NFHS will not get back to you about it. I have tried multiple emails.

### 1/5 — Worthless, truly

*2024-10-18*

After using the NFHS Rules app successfully for years, I was disappointed when it would not open for me. I was told that’s been phased out and that the All Access app replaces it. The app does nothing. I see nothing. I can’t download anything. No rules, no sports. Is this even a working app?

It seems like no one at the federation is concerned because they have not returned multiple emails asking for help

### 1/5 — Much worse than old digital books

*2024-10-15, version 1.0.2*

I bought a new iPhone and it wouldn’t let me download books I already purchased.

### 1/5 — Stopped working after a month

*2024-09-25, version 1.0.2*

Now when I open the app and select the book, the screen just freezes on the cover page. I have tried everything but can’t get it to work!

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-09-12, version 1.0.2*

App does not show anything on the screen. No choices are given for rule books. The app does not let you create an account. There is no customer support at NFHS website to purchase a rule book. The schools need a new option for sports rule organizations.

### 1/5 — All access reviews

*2024-09-09, version 1.0.2*

This is one of the most useless apps I have ever downloaded.
I can’t believe it os so clunky or that rule books are even printed instead of distributed digitally for free.
Thank goodness for the delete button.
(No stars)

### 1/5 — How do I add a new book?

*2024-09-06, version 1.0.2*

How do I add a new book to this app? I need the Football Casebook for my test. The NFHS Rules app is not working.

### 1/5 — Publish Kindle Editions

*2024-09-01, version 1.0.2*

This app is useless. It receives one star I ly so I could document my disdain for this application. With the major changes to wrestling for 2024-25, my old kindle version will be practically useless. Publish the rule books and case books on Kindle again.

### 1/5 — Absolutely worthless

*2024-08-28, version 1.0.2*

The app doesn’t even work anymore. This is ridiculous and a waste of time. Should’ve just left it alone and never bothered with All-Access.

### 1/5 — It’s bad

*2024-08-08, version 1.0.2*

This app is worthless!!!!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-08-06, version 1.0.2*

Blank screen

### 1/5 — Nearly Worthless

*2024-07-30, version 1.0.2*

I can see previous purchased books but can’t find a way to download new rule books. Not sure what this app is for.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Couldn’t rate it a ZERO

*2025-06-05*

If any state decides to have all their manuals/rules books on this platform, you’ll see a mass exodus of officials. This is a pathetically written program that seldom works. You can’t turn pages, can’t go back to Table of Contents, and it’s very difficult to switch between manual (I.e. Rules book to Case Book). Don’t bother wasting your time downloading this app. It’s just pure frustration added onto your daily stress! Horrible.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-05-29, version 1.0.2*

I have no idea why they went from the rules app to this. I open the app and literally nothing happens. I really hope they fix this.

### 1/5 — App no longer working

*2025-05-09*

I have been using this app for years with no issues on my iPhone. Went into app today and all of my books no longer exist. I deleted the app and reinstalled it to access NFHS Rulebooks and nothing is available to download. Totally frustrating, when you are a member of NFHS.

### 1/5 — Subscribed books don’t show

*2025-05-08, version 1.0.2*

Subscribed rule book and case book at first use showed up. Now the rule book is there sometimes while the case book is never there. App seems to have some issues.

### 1/5 — Cannot access soccer rules book

*2025-04-15, version 1.0.2*

I cannot access the 2024-25 soccer rules book through this app. The front cover of the rules book shows up on the screen, but there is no way to access the content of the rules book. I have a subscription for the rules book through my state organization. I’m running this app on an iPhone 16 Pro with the latest software update. Disappointed that it wasn’t available when I needed it.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-04-01, version 1.0.2*

It seems that this app and other NFHS apps have been abandoned. The NFHS website advertises this app as a way to access all publications. However, there doesn’t seem to be a way to download the latest publications to the app.

### 1/5 — Worst app I have ever seen!

*2025-03-24, version 1.0.2*

Zero instruction on how to use! Do not waste your time downloading this!

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-03-13, version 1.0.2*

I downloaded this app after my NFHS rules app wasn’t working. I created an account and there were no books available. When I searched for my sport, nothing came up. It’s just an empty app. The NFHS rules app was such a great resource for coaches when it worked.

### 1/5 — Nothing there

*2025-02-20, version 1.0.2*

Downloaded the app in order to get a rule book for the up coming spring season. NOTHING comes up when you search. I wanted it on my phone so I have it at games instead of paying more for postage than what the book is worth.

### 1/5 — 100% broken

*2025-02-08, version 1.0.2*

Absolutely worthless, frustrating experience both with app and website. They should be completely ashamed of this.

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love NFHS Network!

*2023-08-09*

I often have to work during my daughter’s games - it is so awesome having this wonderful network available to be able to watch her! The quality of the stream is awesome too! My most important streaming network - even above Netflix!

### 3/5 — Revised

*2025-04-07*

I initially gave this app a one star review and said some nasty things about it. All I wanted was access to the 2025 NFHS softball rulebook. I stumbled across a video and discovered that I needed to actually purchase a rule book/subscription from the AllAccess website first. The process certainly wasn’t easy to even do that, but now that I have, I can access my rulebook from within the app and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve revised my rating to 3 stars because I haven’t actually gone through the rulebook yet. I will update my rating and review accordingly. The process to get access to what I wanted was terrible, but the app may be pretty good after all!

### 3/5 — Not Intuitive

*2023-12-25*

Once I figured out how to use it, I actually enjoy the app. It is not very intuitive. I am highly technical, and it took me some trial and error to figure it out. Instructions weren’t detailed, as indicated by the numerous complaints about the blank screen in other reviews. You should be able to purchase books in the app, zoom into a section, and perhaps even print. I use an iPad. The app would be near useless on a phone.

### 3/5 — Annoying logins

*2023-09-23*

The app has been working for me. It does what it’s supposed to do. My issue is every time I come back to the app, I’m presented with a pop-up saying my login has expired. That means I have to log back in, and the constant need to log back in is very annoying.

### 2/5 — Save my password

*2024-10-05, version 1.0.2*

What year are we in that an app asks for my password every single time I open it? My social media, NO! My bank, No! Baseball rule book, yes every time!

### 2/5 — About the blank app

*2023-12-28*

You need to go to the web page and purchase the books. Then they show up here. Why the blank page doesn’t say something is beyond me. 2 stars because it’s still slow and hard to use and it’s the only way to view the ebooks from nfhs.

### 2/5 — About the blank app

*2023-09-19*

You need to go to the web page and purchase the books. Then they show up here.

Why the blank page doesn’t say something is beyond me.

2 stars because it’s still slow and hard to use and it’s the only way to view the ebooks from nfhs.
