They no longer publish rules on the site, only on the app, but we can’t access the app. And I’m tech-savvy, I’d hate to see how those who struggle with tech are doing. I have an account I can log into on the website, but the app only says there is an error and does nothing else. You can’t access any books, or download new books you’ve subscribed to. I deleted the app and reloaded it hoping to solve the problem, and now can’t even log in. They can’t even provide digital copies of rules to registered officials without a cost. It clear NFHS doesn’t really care about growing the number and quality of officials. The NFHS Rules app for iPhone is useless. The app won’t find any books to add. The selection to select a subject for contacting you doesn’t allow a selection. That means “contact us” doesn’t work. It’s crazy that there is an expectation that officials use an app for rule books and the app doesn’t work. Why on app in this state even made it past the development phase is totally beyond me. You can’t purchase rule books because the app does displays errors. The fact that NFHS charges for rule books is ridiculous. Do they want officials and coaches to know the rules? Apparently not. Other organizations make the rules readily available. You’d think that the NFHS would do the same thing. It’s disappointing. ### 5/5 — Easy to use *2023-02-26* I have used this for 3 years now. It is an easy to use app and to find information. You buy a one year subscription when the rule books up date they replace toh old rule books with a download. ### 5/5 — App is fantastic. *2023-02-24* I have been a licensed/registered sports official for more than ten years and love using the NFHS Rules App. I use rules app constantly in reviewing various rules and case plays related to the sports I officiate. The app is easy to navigate and I always have access as needed. They are very helpful and a much more enjoyable way of consuming and retaining rules knowledge. Please keep updating with new questions periodically! I love the fact they have quizzes with the rules sections associated with each question. Sometimes when using the quick search link to a specific word it only opens the section and not the specific page of the word. Other than that I found this app very useful in getting my officials license. Quizzes are directly from the test! ### 2/5 — Recommending departure NFHS across the state *2024-08-07, version 3.6.3* Has a rules, interpreter and Referee coach for Central Massachusetts a very large Referee board, I am recommending we review our participation with NFHS. The cost basis for resources for soccer referees and the lack of support make this tough evaluation necessary. With declining enrollments of referees across our state an app like we have an IFAB and FIFA is a basic requirement. yet an FHS doesn’t even have a fully downloadable rules book for soccer ### 2/5 — App is slow and poor searching *2023-01-31* The application is slow and the search function doesn’t take you right to the place it found the word. When clicking on a link in the text, it doesn’t allow you to go back to where you were previously. I really hope they go back to e-publishing. The 2020 Softball rules on the Kindle was great. I would happily pay more than the $6.99 to have it on the Kindle again. ### 2/5 — Books randomly disappear *2018-11-21, version 3.2.5* This app used to work great, but something has happened in the last year to change that. My books randomly disappear and NFHS wants to charge me $6.95 to replace them on the app. I do log in with my state association email as directed, but that doesn’t fix anything.
