The schedule prevents me from having to search for a schedule on google and risk getting a virus on my device from tapping on links. The amount of features are impressive. Top players to watch for the upcoming game, the goaltending stats, and the next games between those two teams to name just a few. The roster is, personally, the best part but it’s also the worst part right now. The app tends to glitch, at least for me, after almost every update. It was the schedule that didn’t work before but this time, it’s the roster. It doesn’t let me go back any seasons at all, which it’s meant to. I recommend getting that fixed. The problem is usually solved within a few days or one update but this is taking its time. App is recommended though! ### 2/5 — Crash *2026-07-30, version 16.6.1* Please fix crash issue. When opened, it just sits on logo screen for 30 seconds and then crashes. Will not open. However, lately I’m seeing more and more adds and promotions in every corner. Please don’t ruin the app by polluting it everywhere with flashy and intrusive adds — please keep it reasonable or you will lose viewers like me. Can we please just keep my cookie setting requests persistent!! ### 3/5 — playoffs format issue and refresh *2026-05-16, version 16.6.0* No joke, this is my favourite app but the fact that all regular season stats just disappear once the playoffs start is just infuriating and so impractical. Also, if it could be possible to lighten/darken the eliminated teams from the playoffs in the team and player stats just like in the bracket could make the app so much better cause now it is just confusing. In addition to that, I find the app in general kinda slow to update score and points/stats live during a game (differential, assists mentions, live activities score, etc.) and the general stats take a while to update after a game is over too. Please fix these, it would make the app 100% better! ### 2/5 — Replays *2026-05-13, version 16.6.0* In the last two seasons the NHL app has cut the replays to end 1 second after the puck goes in the net. I’ve even used it at the rink before while watching a live game. I’d like to see a “news” section but the play by play and the radio functions alone make this free app worth it. ### 2/5 — TV app starts recaps at last second *2026-04-22, version 16.5.1* Since the latest update, the TV app starts the game recaps at the last second of the clip, and you need to click “start from the beginning” every time, needing to be quick enough to pause it first before another ad starts. Today, for just one example, staff writes Cutter Gauthier might get an offer sheet. He is ineligible for one. Videos often start at the end instead of the beginning. The scroll/progress bar sometimes never disappears, leaving the entire video with a dark tint over it. Those are just a couple examples, but the overall Apple TV experience is frustrating and unreliable. I have been trying to get friends into hockey and recommended the app as a good place to start. Unfortunately, the feedback I have received, and what I have seen firsthand, is that the app is a poor experience. If the league is serious about growing the game, the app needs to feel professional, polished, and easy to use. With the amount of sponsorship money visible across the league, there is no excuse for such a rough product. The NFL would never tolerate an app experience this bad, and the NHL should not either. ### 1/5 — Sportsnet plus is garbage *2026-03-30, version 16.4.3* The NHL app isn’t bad but please do something about the garbage Sports et plus app for your games in Canada. It’s borderline not usable with so many glitches. Frustrated since the switch the Sportsnet back in 2022/23. Like Philly sounds like Boston? And San Jose’s horn sounds like a ship horn. New Jersey’s horn is so loud. But Montreal, Minnesota, and Chicago are 10/10.
