### 3/5 — Stolen

*2026-08-19, version 6.5.4*

This is a great app, helping me with my surgery rehab. All was going well till it lost 60 mins of my brisk walking yesterday. That’s a huge chunk and I want to know why and if it can be recovered. Luckily I’m using a cardiac monitor so I know I did over 1 hour on a treadmill with the lost brisk timings but still.

### 4/5 — The Walking “Soothsayer”

*2026-08-18, version 6.5.4*

A terrific pace tracker with a positivity of tone which informs, and encourages me to maintain momentum as part of my daily exercise.

### 4/5 — Getting Walking!

*2026-08-16, version 6.5.4*

This is a great app and I do love it and has really helped me to aim for my ‘brisk’ walking daily target. The only thing that prevented 5 stars is that I wish it was linked to a iWatch or smartwatch to help me see at ease how many brisk minutes I had completed. I also forgot my phone one day and despite my watch recording my walk, it didn’t and couldn’t update my on my phone.

### 4/5 — Try …. Keep trying

*2026-08-15, version 6.5.4*

It’s hot ! Blooming hot but I haven’t walked for weeks because of the heat. Oh ! How I have missed my walking. It will be more enjoyable when it’s cooler

### 5/5 — Best app for brisk walking !

*2026-08-05, version 6.5.4*

Used it for years and been a massive help on. Risk walking tracking and also Nordic walking !

### 5/5 — Great App & it’s free!!

*2026-07-30, version 6.5.4*

Very easy to use and access. You can chart your progress runs/walks in as soon as you’ve finished.
I like the weekly/monthly bar charts that give you incentive to get out there if miss a couple of days

### 5/5 — Very helpful for me

*2026-07-28, version 6.5.4*

I keep on track every week. Thanks to this app I now walk an average of 30 minutes brisk walk a day and about an hours walk each day. Some days even more. I find myself wanting to take the phone just to make sure I keep on track. Very easy to use and don’t know how accurate it is but it seems to do the trick for me.

### 5/5 — Mrs k

*2026-07-26, version 6.5.4*

I feel motivated and encouraged knowing how long I’ve walked

### 5/5 — Motivation

*2026-07-20, version 6.5.4*

Loving this app it gives you motivation to keep doing that little bit more

### 5/5 — Loving this app

*2026-07-19, version 6.5.4*

I love the app and in February when I started I did a full month and got lots of trophies I was over the moon , then had one illness after another 3 in total so couldn’t complete the walks , I’m finally just about back to normal but this gives me the incentive to try again it’s a shame you can’t pause the app or post you can’t comment on why you are not walking through as you get regular messages saying to keep going you are not meeting your steps , but this is the best thing that really does encourage you to walk more especially seeing the amount of steps and the bonus of getting the trophies .

### 5/5 — NHS duet and fitness spa

*2026-07-18, version 6.5.4*

Both apps are great

### 5/5 — Active 10 - great app

*2026-07-15, version 6.5.4*

Love this app! Been using this for approx 18months. It counts all the minutes I spend walking briskly. I don’t have to remember to open the app as it works in the background. I can just open it at the end of the day to see how many minutes I have achieved. Although I have a reminder set up to so the app notifies me daily to go do some walking which is a great reminder of o have had a quiet day! The app keeps all the daily achievements and I can look back on months of data, can also view monthly and weekly totals!

### 5/5 — Great help

*2026-07-15, version 6.5.4*

Have just started using this app and I am finding it so motivational. Encouraged me to get moving

### 5/5 — Walking for energy

*2026-07-14, version 6.5.4*

Brilliant app it’s working well I feel encouraged to get out & about. Great fun. I hope to loose a bit of weight. Ha ha. Good incentive to maintain fitness. Hoping to win cups each day!

### 3/5 — Cassie

*2026-07-12, version 6.5.4*

I am enjoying my active ten but am finding it quite difficult with doing the brisk walking partly because I have bad feet and partly because of the heat at the moment but I try to get out with the dog early to do my walk at the moment .

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-07-10, version 6.5.4*

This app has got me out out out! I love it. I have a reminder set 3 times a day to get it done and use the step counter often to ensure my pace is on point. Even got a group in the office doing it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — NHS walking plan

*2026-09-01, version 6.5.4*

It would be more useful if the walking plan was within the active 10 app as I have to sign in to see the walking plan every time and it’s unclear how it works, and doesn’t seem to refer at all to the active 10 app to set targets.

### 1/5 — Good idea but poorly executed!

*2026-08-28, version 6.5.4*

Sadly, I will be deleting this app. A few days ago I was checking progress and found the app deleted all my data and was starting from scratch. Useless - how many more times would this happen? Very disheartening, because archived results couldn’t be retrieved.

### 1/5 — Shame new t’s & C’s

*2026-08-21, version 6.5.4*

Worth reading. I’m deleting app now.

Why do you have to spoil a good thing 🤷

I AM SO ANGRY !! 😡

### 1/5 — Counter productive

*2026-07-18, version 6.5.4*

I have used it but there is a glitch when you stop the walk say waiting to cross the road. It stops and doesn’t resume no matter what you do. It is not responsive at all. So I think it is so frustrating and has become counter productive. And what’s the point of having to push continue after entering the passcode. That’s not what I call quick check in. Painful face ID as well.

### 1/5 — Pointless

*2026-06-13, version 6.3.7*

This app provides no advice or information to change behaviour, it does not link to other apps

### 1/5 — Jon

*2026-05-09, version 6.3.7*

Tortures you relentlessly to have a daily notification even if you say you don’t want one in the settings.

### 1/5 — Typical government rubbish

*2026-03-04, version 6.3.6*

Cannot use as it states I need to toggle fitness settings in privacy, which has been activated and if you select go to settings it goes to the app in settings and there’s no reason to go to that section. I therefore cannot use the app! What is need is location toggle , I’m not technology wizard, yet if I can find that out , the schmücks who have been paid should have done so already

### 1/5 — Apparently I’m not brisk enough despite being faster than most people around me in most settings!

*2021-08-06*

The app logs my minutes walking but none are logged as brisk walking despite me almost breaking into a run at one point! As the only target you can work towards is one based on brisk walking (and yes, my phone was in my trouser pocket, touching my leg and my idea of brisk is pretty dammed fast compared to most people at work or commuting) it makes the app unusable for its purpose. Reading reviews, I’m not the only person who has had this issue.
If the app can’t identify ‘brisk’ accurately, and ‘brisk’ is the only criteria for the targets, seems like the app doesn’t work.
I don’t know if other factors affect it, but I’m only 5 foot tall; consequently my little legs move faster than most people’s, to cover the same distance in the same time. If I’m not registering, then there’s a big issue.
What a shame, as the idea for the app was a good one and, if either the ‘brisk’ measurement worked - or if it didn’t but I could still set walking targets anyway, knowing I’m whipping about quickly - it would be really beneficial as a tracker and motivator.
As it is, there’s no way to use it properly, so I’ll delete it.

### 1/5 — Not practical

*2017-08-29*

Does what it is supposed to, but no good in practice. Heard about this app on radio and they said "just need to get off bus 2 stops early and you will easily achieve goal". But when walking in town if you slow down to cross road, zebra crossing or avoid people, you break your pace and do not achieve your 10 minutes and start again. Did 47 minutes in 60 and not 1 active 10. The same when walking dog, dog sniffs something slow down no active. The app takes no account of hills, either.

The app is very slow to update, no good looking it while walking, as does not show current information. Also if you look at app when walking it seems to say you slowed down and your 10 minutes starts again, not 100% sure about this as it takes ages to update and would need more investigation

What speed is a brisk pace? Also It would of been helpful to know if you are achieving it. The only place I can see this working is on a running track or similar with no everyday obstacles.

**Developer response:** You can slow down for up to 2 minutes of any 10 minute period and this will still count as an Active 10. If you pause for longer than this you won't achieve an active 10 but the walking is still beneficial for your health. We urge you to continue using the app for added health benefits. Many thanks.

### 2/5 — Great idea but often feeezes

*2026-02-26, version 6.3.6*

I really like this app but occasionally it shows that I have stopped walking even though I am. I don’t think that it is really accurate.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Motivational apps

*2026-09-01, version 6.5.4*

### 5/5 — Gt help

*2026-09-01, version 6.5.4*

At a glance record of your fitness progress.

### 5/5 — Walking indoors

*2026-08-27, version 6.5.4*

I’m walking indoors, I realise how mad that sounds but it’s 85F with 75% humidity outside!

### 5/5 — Great motivation

*2026-08-25, version 6.5.4*

Good, free app - I’ve set myself targets and it tracks during the day

### 5/5 — Liking it !!!!!!

*2026-08-24, version 6.5.4*

Just downloaded this app & it does take some getting used to compared to my steps app, but what I love is it’s linked to the NHS so it’s all together…… I think it’s a must have ..

*2026-08-21, version 6.5.4*

Keeping me on target 🎯,,, and keeping doing the pounds

### 5/5 — Keeps me up to speed

*2026-08-21, version 6.5.4*

This is a good tool for logging how much of my walk is fast and how long I’ve been active each time. It definitely makes me walk more regularly and to include more fast walking.

Neat way of encouraging me to walk more briskly.

### 5/5 — Lovely app

*2026-08-12, version 6.5.4*

User friendly

### 5/5 — Easy exercising

Easy to use, visually appealing app. Clearly shows daily, weekly and monthly progress against targets.
