### 4/5 — Ease of use

*2026-08-21, version 6.4.3*

I found the white ticks on a pale green background difficult to read. It would be helpful if the contrast were greater.

### 2/5 — Pretty rubbish

*2026-08-19, version 6.4.3*

I’ve struggled to get hold of my health data, which I needed my GP practise to link.
Unfortunately this still isn’t working - I can see only basic information, my GP practise has stated that ‘it should work’ unfortunately it doesn’t

### 2/5 — Data Protection Issues

*2026-08-19, version 6.4.3*

The App does not allow you to opt out/record that you expressly do not give permission for any of your medical data being processed via by the “Patients Know Best” part of the site. This is a privately owned organisation and I consider this just another step in the aim of big business to privatise the NHS by stealth.
Following my above review/concerns, the NHS App team contacted me but have still not addressed my concern that the part of the site used by hospitals to process communication which can include personal medical data is provided by a private organisation (Patients Know Best) and not internally by the NHS.

### 4/5 — Minor tweaks

*2026-08-15, version 6.4.3*

App generally good - is it a lot for repeat prescriptions and appointments.

It is not consistently used my medical profession so I have missing test results/ X-rays and an appointment letter which I got in the post.

Could be improve by being able to flag messages in different colours (useful when you have several things going on) or be able to add a note.

Also need to be able to zoom in to letters rather than just downloading and having store somewhere else.

Otherwise good. :-)

### 2/5 — Test Results Not Displaying Correctly

*2026-08-13, version 6.4.3*

Recent test result appeared. I clicked on it and nothing displayed. Accessed my records via the Patient Access app and that displayed the result fine. Also I don’t get app notifications even though they are switched on.

### 2/5 — Have to login in each time now

*2026-08-13, version 6.4.3*

This app
Is mediocre at best but since being updated in Aug 2026 you now need to enter all your credentials EACH TIME even though you've enabled Face ID and have your password saved in Password app. What a pain - it doesn't even save your email address at login you have to type it all in. Come on!!!!! Annoying.

### 3/5 — No “Select a pharmacy” option any more

*2026-08-13, version 6.4.1*

I’ve used the app for years and always found it useful, easy to use and a time-saver.
However, the option to select a pharmacy seems to have been removed which makes it much less helpful for repeat prescriptions. Why have you done this?

### 3/5 — Notifications

*2026-08-13, version 6.4.1*

I would say the NHS App fails at one of its most important tasks… to notify about hospital appointments. I have reverted to postal appointment letters. I also suspect that if you use the app you are more likely to be cancelled at short notice.

### 4/5 — Surprising good

*2026-08-07, version 6.4.1*

I was very pleased how easy it was to negotiate. See what I’m ordering be reminded not to go to the Pharmasist until your items are ready and then you’ll get a text saying when you can collect very pleased.

### 1/5 — 🤨

*2026-08-05, version 6.4.1*

They deleted my last 1 star review so I've left another

### 4/5 — Tina

*2026-08-05, version 6.4.1*

Why can’t I see my hospital appointments on the app everything else works on it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible NHS app

*2026-08-21, version 6.4.3*

Absolutely laborious to put in and prove
my identity, wouldn’t accept my photo proof so finally had to phone my drs for 3 point identity proof. Finally managed to get accepted in the app this afternoon and accessed my medical records. but now, this evening, when I click on the app the screen is completely blank.
This NHS app isn’t worth even one star!

### 1/5 — Messages

*2026-08-19, version 6.4.3*

Just received a message reminder for a appointment yesterday!!!

### 1/5 — Info

*2026-08-19, version 6.4.3*

It’s so random what info is on the app and what’s not. If GP/hospitals are not required to update the app, what’s the point in it? The only good thing about the app is being able to order prescriptions and see the status of the order.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-08-18, version 6.4.3*

Every single time I use it I tick the box to remember this device. The next time I open it, I have to log in again. Every. Single. Time. Plus, the app is so clunky and difficult to navigate. It lacks structure, ease of use and seamless transitions between menus. I don’t know how the NHS could be happy with an app as horrible as this.

So your solution to this issue is for me to do the very thing I’ve been doing and every time I’ve been using the app which I described in this review above?

That’s the problem right there. The lack of understanding and the ignorance. I’m surprised you didn’t ask if I’ve switched my phone off and on again!!! Give me strength.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-15, version 6.4.3*

Haven’t been able to login for absolutely ages - I report the issues I’m having then receive an email stating “Thank you for confirming closure of your problem, this case is now closed”

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-08-10, version 6.4.1*

What has happened to the NHS App it says it is now easier to use, I can’t agree to that and where is my health record can’t find it anywhere. If this is supposed to easier to use, what can be easier than clicking on a title called health record which is how it used to be. Also I don’t seem to be able to get back to the main menu. Why change something that worked fine before?

I have found my health record but where is the doctors written report on my visit?

### 1/5 — great at wasting your time

*2026-08-10, version 6.4.1*

logs you out every time you close it

### 1/5 — Atrocious

*2026-08-09, version 6.4.1*

Tried changing my phone number and it took 20 minutes due to constantly locking me out, then shut my account for a day due to the number change! I needed a repeat prescription that I had to wait longer for, absurd app that locks everything behind 20 steps of login.

Not user friendly at all

### 1/5 — Terrible customer support.

*2026-08-09, version 6.4.1*

Someone else’s medical appointment was added to my app, when I raised this with the nhs app team they locked me out of my account for months, with no warning. When I tried to contact them I was passed to different departments who then never replied. When I would open a new case, I would be told they had no idea why I wasn’t even acknowledged and would forward my correspondence, which would again be ignored. This stopped me being able to request medication as I am unable to attend in person, when I asked to make a complaint I was again ignored. Beware anyone that downloads this app - never EVER tell them if someone else’s medical history appears on it. Just ignore it otherwise you’ll be shut out for goodness knows how long.

### 1/5 — Unable to change nominated pharmacy

*2026-08-07, version 6.4.1*

For some reason the NHS app won’t allow you to change your nominated pharmacy. The instructions tell you how to do it but the option isn’t actually available in the app! Useless. This problem is encountered on an iPhone but Android phones seem to be ok. Glad they tested the app before issuing it, not!!

### 5/5 — Great! A proper iPad app

*2026-08-12, version 6.4.1*

The NHS app keeps getting better and better. I would like it to show more of my results from hospitals though and to implement Passkey authentication. Keep up the good work. Roll on the single patient record asap!

### 5/5 — Well built App

*2026-08-07, version 6.4.1*

This is such a time saver and its so good to have all letters prescription’s and appointments in one place.

### 5/5 — Prescription

*2026-08-03, version 6.4.1*

I have a prescription for a cream that I get about every three months. However because it’s not on the main list and cannot order it because it’s on the list of other medicines. It would be a great idea if we could access this list as I am currently housebound. Thank you for your main repeat prescriptions it is so easy to use and always correct.
