### 4/5 — Quit Vaping

*2026-04-05, version 5.4.1*

The app was great to help me stay motivated, however I used it to help me quit vaping, wish they added that functionality.

I used to smoke cigarettes then switched to vaping to quit the ciggies, but ended up far more addicted to the vape then I ever was the cigarettes. So would’ve really nice to have that option when you choose what you are quitting and how much you were smoking

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2025-12-30, version 5.2.0*

This app has really helped me in quitting. I smoked for 20 years and I am now 7 months smoke free.

I have tried hundreds of times. But never got past 8weeks.

Giving up alcohol for the first ten weeks really helped me this time and steering clear of any events in which I could be tempted.

I knew if I could do 3 months then I’d stop forever.

It was hard. And there were definitely a lot of low times. But it’s all worth it.

Don’t give up giving up. You can do this.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-12-08, version 5.2.0*

Helping a family member to quit and it is working wonders. Thank you NHS for creating an app that helps people like this!!!!!

### 5/5 — My Smoke-Free Journey

*2025-11-23, version 5.2.0*

I’ve been smoke-free for 5 weeks now thanks to the NHS Quit Smoking support. The advice and motivation in the app helped me understand cravings and stay on track. I really appreciate this service and wanted to share my positive experience.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-11-11, version 5.2.0*

Great app

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-09-15, version 5.1.0*

App has helped me stop smoking even though I still vape and feel the need to but noticed so many benefits of not smoking like no cough or phlegm in the mornings and no breathlessness. Feel so much better, can’t even stand the smell of cigarettes now and couldn’t touch one again.

### 5/5 — Easy

*2025-07-26*

Found the app user friendly was able to backdate to when I stopped smoking, now on day 211 not vaped, not needed help, not used the conga game or any other so don’t know if theses help I just stopped and it’s nice to not smell of smoke food has taste and other smokers really smell I didn’t realise how bad I must have been to non smokers…anyway good luck it really is easy to give up it’s mainly all in the mind just tell yourself you don’t need to smoke or watch an operation on someone with throat cancer from smoking as nobody wants that….so yes smoking is stupid but not addictive if I can stop anyone can like I say it’s all in your head

### 5/5 — Sean

*2025-07-03, version 5.0.0*

I found this app super helpful it made quitting much easier after 40+ yrs of smoking

### 5/5 — Thomas

*2025-04-23, version 4.25*

Very supportive

### 5/5 — I did it!

*2025-03-29, version 4.24*

I stop smoking after 12 years, now my lungs are more clrean and I improved my health in general!

### 4/5 — Great app but it can’t count 🙈

*2025-03-16, version 4.24*

App is great but the total amount of smoke free days is wrong.

Somehow it’s counted about 10 less days than the graph shows compared to the calendar. Not sure how!

### 5/5 — Well done, NHS

*2025-03-05, version 4.24*

I am very early into my journey, I don’t expect it to be a clean sweep and imagine there will be stop/starts, but this app really does have everything and it is evidence based and supportive. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Excellent companion

*2025-03-04, version 4.24*

This app keeps me going, and the encouragement I get from the app each day makes me want to be honest, is not judgemental, I just love the app.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2025-03-04, version 4.24*

After 40 years of smoking this app is proving to be invaluable

### 5/5 — Great companion

*2025-02-26, version 4.24*

I always use this app, it’s a great motivator.
I’ve given up twice with the help of the app, but always seem to have difficulty between 6-9 months.
Twice the app has helped me reach 9 months.
I slipped this week, but when I’m ready will reset the app and start again. Good luck people- don’t give up, given up!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App

*2026-02-11, version 5.3.1*

The app does not work. It’s seems to be frozen.

### 1/5 — App stopped counting the days after day 357

*2025-04-08, version 4.25*

Pretty annoying that leading up to a one year success of not smoking the app stops counting the days after day 357. You don’t get to see the 1 year milestone of being a non-smoker.

### 1/5 — Another review about lack of support.

*2025-03-01, version 4.24*

I wrote a review about lack of support and was signposted to the support email address. However, the app developers need to know that the support email address does not answer. I have written 3 times, and filled in feedback on the app.
The only way to get a response from the app developers is to put a public request via a critical one star rating.
So here we go again. Please respond to requests for help and support via the email address you have supplied. A good app developers does not simply ignore requests, and only respond to them when they are in a public arena.

### 2/5 — Good but really not so good

*2026-07-25, version 5.5.1*

I’ve tried this app, and it started well, but some of the motivational comments actually drove me back to smoking, whereas if I hadn’t read them I would have continued to stop. So, good to get you started, but please only use for the first few days and then move to something else

### 2/5 — bug reset my progress to zero

*2026-02-28, version 5.3.1*

the app seems fine, albeit designed for every day smokers. as a casual smoker trying to quit for good, I felt this dos not soak to me as much. most frustratingly, the app reset my 5 day streak to zero when I updated my name, gender and age. I will struggle to engage with the app again now..

### 2/5 — Way too much emphasis on substitutes

*2023-11-29*

Downloaded this because I thought it might help to give me a boost to support me through the first few weeks of quitting - it’s…ok? I guess. But there’s this huge emphasis on trying to get me to compensate for the cravings by vaping or using nicotine replacement therapies - literally at least two of the first week’s missions rely on it, and there are badges for trying them and the weekly guide actually tells you to have them on hand for the first 72 hours etc. But…nicotine is the drug addiction I’m trying to kick…why on earth would I want the ‘cravings’ phase of quitting to last longer, by continuing to feed myself nicotine? 😂 I’m glad it’s helped some people but it’s not one for me. It’s just made quitting a lot worse!

### 2/5 — Can’t change the quit day

*2022-10-02*

I gad previously using the Stoptober app a few years ago and found it amazing! Sadly last year I lost my mum and found myself back smoking. I had set myself a target of Stoptober to quit and was sad to see the App is no longer supported and moved over to here. I downloaded at 4pm 1st October as I’d done my first 16 hours of free from smoking! Today I woke to see my progress and motivate myself for the next part of my journey and congratulating myself…only to find this app thinks I’m a day behind! After searching the whole app to see if I’m missing something I can’t find how to change the day?! This is extremely demotivating and I feel so rubbish now, I feel like lighting up then resetting the app and I’ll be in right place with the app. PLEASE tell me how to change it or bring back Stoptober 😢😢

### 2/5 — There are better Apps out there

*2018-10-12*

As a time counter this app is ok but disappointingly, there is nowhere to record cravings or make diary/note entries. These things would be useful. Most disappointing of all is that it takes you to a month and that’s it, cut off point as if once you’ve gone for this length of time you’re gone free. Anyone giving up smoking including myself is a recovering addict and support needs to go beyond 4 weeks! It doesn’t just go away after 28days. Also, it would be useful for users to be provided with links to educational materials on exactly what nicotine addiction is and how it affects you during use and withdrawal. People are more likely to succeed if they understand what is happening and why. I’d have expected more from an NHS endorsed app.

### 3/5 — Vape

*2024-06-28, version 4.16.0*

This app could really do with a stop vape option

### 3/5 — It’s alright… I guess

*2023-05-31*

It’s really good to keep track of how much you’ve saved, if you know and stick to certain amounts of fags you smoke daily. Someone like me though, that’s very difficult as I smoked 5 cigarettes on a good day but then smoke 30 on a really bad day. Also there is a setting that occasionally asks you how you’re feeling, which can be seen as helpful, however it does seem to be like a plaster over a broken bone kind of thing sometimes.

Overall, it is an okay app. If you are looking for something that could help you track down how much you’ve saved. It’s perfect! If you want something though that helps you through the difficult time, you’re better off without it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Quitting for good

*2026-07-17, version 5.5.1*

I have tried numerous times to quit and always lapse i have used this app every day to give me motivation and remind me of have far ive have got in so little time and my health is miles better afyer just 4 weeks hope to stay strong 💪

### 5/5 — Keeps you accountable daily

*2026-07-14, version 5.5.1*

I wanted to give up smoking so joined the NHS IOM Stop Smoking Service (previously Quit4You). I had weekly appointments but needed that extra bit to keep me on track. Today I am 142 days smoke free, have saved over £1,250+ and never felt better. Wish I’d done it sooner but the App is definitely worth trying even if it’s to keep you accountable and a little daily reminder I am no longer a smoker 🚭✔️😊

### 5/5 — Everything helps trying to give up smoking

*2026-07-02, version 5.5.0*

It’s nice to have these pop-ups and information as you get awarded badges although like sometimes get to 5 days or even six days and have to start again but it’s encouraging. I find it very helpful.

### 5/5 — Mr

*2026-06-15, version 5.5.0*

Great help in getting started on the road to stop smoking, gives good Incentives and great factual information.

### 5/5 — Quit smoking/vaping

*2026-06-01, version 5.4.1*

Just remember smoking and vaping is worth the cost to your health or wallet.

Very simple but handy app to aid and track quitting smoking or vaping.

### 5/5 — Become your best self!

*2026-03-02*

Five years ago I smoked 20-30 a day and decided enough was enough and I was going to quit smoking cold turkey through will power alone.

This app saved me and allowed me to now be 5 years smoke free. I have no urges and couldn’t ever imagine smoking again.

What you don’t see is the other parts to quitting smoking. You have to sacrifice everything as your own life is worth more. I quit drinking for an entire year and did not socialise with anyone for 6 months and hibernated whilst getting over the hump. These are things you need to do, be selfish and choose your own life over some FOMO.

This is the best app, with the daily facts, gradual updates on how the body is positively changing and just being an overall tracker.

I owe the past five years being smoke free to this app, I actually use this app now as a way to quit or start other habits over a 28 days period due to its accountability.

Grateful to have the NHS and have free open access to support systems like this. There is no excuse to smoke in the present day with all the information and warnings there are nowadays.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the positive review it's wonderful to hear the app is working well for you. We'll be sure to pass this onto the team.

### 5/5 — Help to quit

*2026-02-11, version 5.3.1*

It’s a great app helpful to quit smoking I cut down a lot but really trying to quit and vape instead

### 5/5 — Helps

*2026-01-16, version 5.3.0*

The app has helped me to stop smoking and I enjoy seeing the amount of days that I haven’t smoked increase. Feels like a big accomplishment!

### 5/5 — Really useful.

*2026-01-16, version 5.3.0*

I’ve used it since I stopped smoking and find it really useful, inspiring and keeps you on track.

### 5/5 — Useful

*2026-01-15, version 5.3.0*

It has been useful to me. It made the process less hard and it has been a good companion for 28 days.
