### 2/5 — Not working

*2026-02-25, version 2.4.86*

I have not been able to use the app for at least two weeks. Can anyone please help.

### 2/5 — Data gaps / unlinked services

*2026-01-30, version 2.4.86*

Login worked fine with nhs id, my main gripe is a complete disconnect regarding referrals - I have multiple active referrals and others yet to be actioned but there are zero records in this section.

This would be very useful as I have zero visibility on what is happening especially with the long waiting lists

### 1/5 — What a waste of time

*2026-01-21, version 2.4.86*

Nothing in this app works what are the people running this app doing??
If it don’t work then take it down you are just wasting peoples time,
An absolute disgrace

### 1/5 — Clunky and Slow

*2026-01-21, version 2.4.86*

I used to live in England and used the NHS app which is far superior to this version.
Most of the time it doesn’t log you in. It’s slow and doesn’t show much details at all. It does do repeat prescriptions and that about it. In short it’s pretty rubbish.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-01-21, version 2.4.86*

Told to download by my GP to book appointments yet instantly a message saying I can’t book using it. Pointless

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-01-12, version 2.4.86*

I don’t get anything through, GP, Hospital or referrals that have been made. My GP has posters up to download it and access all your health records etc
I get nothing. All I have is my details and GP details and that’s it. (Under BCU)

### 2/5 — Limited

*2026-01-09, version 2.4.86*

Good for booking appointments, and you can see what vaccinations you have had (or declined).
That's about all it offers, at least in my case, though I gather it depends on what your GP surgery has opted in to.
I really wanted to see details of my hospital visits but this was not there at all.
The hit and miss approach to this app pretty much sums up the Welsh NHS as a whole.

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless

*2025-12-19, version 2.4.86*

This app only really allows you to read messages from the NHS about appointments made manually/personally. Ordering prescriptions doesn’t work, booking appointments doesn’t work. It doesn’t even show all the medication in you have in your history.

Pretty poor but didn’t expect a lot tbh

### 1/5 — Totally Useless

*2025-12-18*

Nothing works, every section is empty you cannot see or do anything it claims possible. Total waste of space. Even basic details are not shown. No updates in 10 months and even if you do report issues they go unanswered. NHS Wales is a complete joke. GPs are full of excuses and blame the app the developers blames the GPs for not setting people up. Neither should be making that decision and should be working for the tax payer not themselves. Anyone leaving anything more than 1 star must either be one of the developers or their friends as anyone that can use a phone and an app will know this is total garbage.

**Developer response:** If you are experiencing a technical problem using the NHS Wales App, please let us know by contacting us using the in-App feedback mechanism or online at https://apphelp.nhs.wales/

### 2/5 — Prescription notifications

*2025-12-14, version 2.4.86*

This is a simple App enhancement.

Recently, three family members have not had their repeat prescriptions approved by the Surgery. It would be very useful if the NHS app could send a notification by to either phone or SMS to let people know this. Three of us have only just found that items were missing from their dispensed prescription and we weren’t informed by the surgery. This has caused distress in one instance and annoyance to all of us.

### 1/5 — NHS Wales

*2025-12-01, version 2.4.86*

Probably a perfectly functional app but NHS Wales are hopeless

### 1/5 — Very low functionality

*2025-11-05, version 2.4.86*

Over promises. Under delivers. Clunky app. Repeatedly having to input logon and password. Behind with the digital times. Nhs Wales doesn’t join up with Nhs England. So for patients in Wales living on the border referred to England services, you’ll need pen and paper.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-10-30, version 2.4.86*

Update: a few people saying it’s down to the GPs to switch certain services on - my wife is with the same surgery as me and is able to order prescriptions and book appointments, and I am still not so it’s clearly a problem for some people and not others.

Much like others here I can’t access any services on the app. Rang my gp as suggested and was told that there was nothing they could do.
Disappointing as it would be great to use, hopefully the issues are resolved in the future.

### 1/5 — This app is only as good as your Gp surgery allows it to be

*2025-10-28, version 2.4.86*

Four Elms Medical Centre in Cardiff rarely has appointments available on the app and they don’t update your records or repeat prescriptions. Half of the options available on this app don’t work because my Gp surgery doesn’t utilise most of the functions which makes it pretty useless

### 1/5 — Dysfunctional

*2025-10-19, version 2.4.86*

This app is your view into the broken, underfunded, dysfunctional, ghostown of the NHS GP service. And, like the service you try to access through it, it’s a fragmented postcode lottery.

You can’t book appointments. You can’t see test results. Any history is partial and often incorrect. You may be able to book prescriptions, depends on how the app feels on any given day.

The AppStore blurb is fronted in Welsh. I’m Welsh, from as many generations of Welsh ancestors as I can trace. I don’t speak Welsh and have no interest in doing so. Here’s a crazy idea .. it’s an NHS app, so concentrate on making a functional NHS app rather than pandering to language zealots.

The sorry trail of reviews say it all ..

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2025-10-01, version 2.4.86*

With a new iPhone had to log back in and reset password via email, unable to reset and access denied

### 2/5 — Problems with repeat prescriptions

*2025-09-22, version 2.4.86*

Which are ignored despite repeated feedback.

1. The seems to be no mechanism to prevent multiple repeat prescription orders. I placed an order earlier this morning. On going back to the app, I am still able to place another order.

2. There is no indication of how many repeat prescription orders remain before a medicines review is required. This was available on the old website.

A major inconvenience if you place an order a few days before the current order runs out only to be told a review is required before another issue.

Even more of a problem if you have requested 2 months because you are going away only to discover a review is required.

### 1/5 — NHS wales

*2025-09-11, version 2.4.86*

Glitchy, unable to order repeat prescription, book appointments or see GP records. Pointless waste of space on my phone.

### 2/5 — Can’t change

*2025-09-05, version 2.4.86*

I want to remove a chemist that has my details but can’t remove them? I need to change my chemist back to my usual chemist how is this not easy to do on the app?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Has the potential…

*2026-05-01*

The app has the potential for efficiency for patients and health professionals, once departments are cohesive and it’s fully implemented it will reduce pressures from healthcare and support patients to feel more empowered and responsible over their health

Unfortunately apart from GP surgeries departments such as gynaecology and mental health teams do not use this nor is there a clear plan for patients to know when and how it will be developed.
It depends on the GP whether you are able to see your medical records, results etc. GPs appear reluctant or not supported to use this. Access is dependent on the GP surgery which is unfair. But GPs should be given more support to utilise this.

I recently spoke to a staff member in the Cardiff and vale health board in south wales who said the senior management of departments have no vision in supporting its implementation…it would be beneficial for health boards and departments to be held accountable but also supported for improving patients access to their care.

### 1/5 — No App

*2026-02-16, version 2.4.86*

Needs to fix photo section in usable

### 1/5 — Completely pointless

*2026-02-06, version 2.4.86*

Much like every UK government service or app, this is a complete waste of time. It has absolutely no useful information except a list of the last 5/6 medicines you were prescribed, very helpful. No ‘medical record’ which for most people would be 20/30 pages long. Can’t book an appt with a GP, no test results section. What is the point of this??

### 1/5 — Hospital appointment

*2026-01-25, version 2.4.86*

The app is useless in checking where you are on the waiting list piss poor service from our defunk nhs Johnny Foreigner can have treatment at my expense and I’ve got to wait 🤬🤬🤬

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-01-23, version 2.4.86*

Another useless waste of NHS money. Pointless app which is only as good as your GP surgery, which is appalling in my case. The reviews speak for themselves. Don’t waste your time or space on your device.

### 1/5 — Rubbish app

*2026-01-22, version 2.4.86*

I have no details of my surgery on there. It’s not user friendly.

### 1/5 — Why can’t I add my wife to the app?

*2026-01-22, version 2.4.86*

I’ve managed to access the app to order prescription but nothing else, no appointments etc. I would like to add my wife to the app. As her carer I order her medication and appointments why can’t I add her? I’m sure you’ll say it’s a work in progress. I await your response!

### 1/5 — Awful app!

*2026-01-22, version 2.4.86*

Log in takes an age of closing down a blank page … information contained in the app is so basic, I’m at a loss as to why it’s so slow! Just frustrating as our GP is asking us to use it! Make it better people!

### 1/5 — Appalling bad App

*2026-01-21, version 2.4.86*

I saw a news item about the NHS Wales App on ITV today and thought I would give it another go.
I removed the App from my phone and reinstalled it and went through the NHS login page but even though this appears to be successful I was presented with a blank screen with no functionality!
Utterly unacceptable.
How can such an important App be released without adequate testing.
I would love to hear back from the developers and those responsible in NHS Wales who are responsible.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-01-21, version 2.4.86*

App just loads a blank screen, unable to do anything within.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple to set up and easy to use.

*2026-01-23*

It was easy to login using the NHS ID I had already created during Covid.
The app supports Face ID so authentication will be even simpler in future.
My repeat prescription items are all listed and ready to reorder, and the app shows when they are approved. My surgery sends them electronically to my chosen pharmacy so the whole process should be much quicker.
I don't really understand all the bad reviews.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-06-06, version 2.4.86*

The NHS Wales App makes managing my health so much easier. I can book appointments, check records, and access services quickly. It’s simple to use and keeps improving.

### 5/5 — Love seeing my full medicine record

*2025-02-13, version 2.4.86*

More functionality is being added all the time making it more useful

### 5/5 — Great to order prescriptions

*2024-09-14*

Love this app and the ability to order repeats so easily without waiting on the phone for ages.

Not many appointments but that’s down to GP practices not making them available as when people don’t turn up for ones they book it costs them so much money!

Can’t wait for the new features such as outpatient appointments and results to come … will make it even better.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoy using the NHS Wales App, we have a great roadmap of future functionality and upcoming releases for you to better manage your health using the NHS Wales App.

### 5/5 — Really welcome

*2024-05-17, version 1.8.0*

Really welcome opportunity to access GP digitally. Can see my meds and whilst me surgery hasn’t enabled online appts yet. I’m hoping that comes soon.

### 5/5 — Easy to set up account

*2023-11-04*

This app takes NHS Wales into the future and enables individuals to keep a check on appointment dates etc without needing to get in a phone queue. About time! Thank you to all who made this possible.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoy using the NHS Wales App, we have a great roadmap of future functionality and upcoming releases for you to better manage your health using the NHS Wales App.

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2023-04-19*

I managed to setup my account via NHS login, and was able to register my interest for when my surgery enables full access (appointments, repeat prescriptions etc.)

I think I may have identified an issue whereby the app asks you to go through the NHS login setup again if you DONT enable Face ID. I presume this is a bug as once I enabled Face ID the app logs me straight in to the homepage.

At first I only enabled text verification and when I tried to sign in I had to connect my account again. This may be a design feature, but I didn’t get this option after enabling Face ID.

This seems like a promising replacement to My Health Online which is now showing its age.

I think it would be good if the App had a report an issue button built in. However, as this is a new app I’m sure this, or something similar will be added as part of future updates.

**Developer response:** We would like to thank you for your review.

Your feedback helps us to monitor and improve the NHS Wales App. We are very pleased to hear that you have had a positive experience so far. To help users provide additional feedback, we currently have a "Feedback" button within the NHS Wales App. Given the nature of your feedback, we have passed your comments to our development team for their consideration.

Once again, many thanks for taking the time to leave you review

### 4/5 — Welcome step in the right direction

*2025-04-22, version 2.4.86*

Great to be able to book GP appointments - avoiding queuing for hours on the phones. A good development and foundation for more functionality- really welcome given the struggles the nhs has

### 4/5 — Works fine for what I need

*2024-09-18*

I generally use this app for repeat prescriptions and just occasionally for booking an appointment. As with EMIS’s MHOL, what I get from the app depends on the GP practice’s engagement with it. Nurse appointments disappeared even back in the EMIS days and the repeat prescription notes box is not, I think, always read at the practice pharmacy. None of this detracts from the app itself. I think I’ll hold one star back for the rigmarole registering but aren’t all security validation processes a swine these days?

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoy using the NHS Wales App, we have a great roadmap of future functionality and upcoming releases for you to better manage your health using the NHS Wales App.

### 4/5 — New app looks good

*2024-03-04*

Have just downloaded the NHS Wales App. Have explored it but not used it. It looks OK 👍
Much easier to loginto or access than the old Myhealth one, which took me an effort to register for and was hard to navigate. Same login etc as I used to use for reporting my Covid tests. And has accepted my fingerprint ID too. Have not used it to contact GP yet but it looks all right.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoy using the NHS Wales App, we have a great roadmap of future functionality and upcoming releases for you to better manage your health using the NHS Wales App.
