### 1/5 — Not always accurate

*2024-04-29*

App indicated bridge was open and available when in fact it was up and a a ship was passing through.

**Developer response:** Hi there!

Unfortunately, the Great Lakes Seaway Website which I take the data from for the app (as stated in the description of the app) saw some downtime the other day. This resulted in the statuses of the bridges being incorrect. This is not a problem on my end, and there is nothing I can do about it as I do not work for the Seaway.

Since the Seaway website can be finicky sometimes, I would suggest making sure that you have the most up-to-date data. You can do this by checking the time shown at the bottom of the app. This timestamp shows when the data on my server was fetched at.

If the time shown there does not match the time you are checking the app at, I would suggest checking the map implemented in the app. It should show whether there is a boat approaching your bridge of choice.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2023-07-14*

I bought this app yesterday it worked once and since then the status is is unavailable. Don’t waste your money. It’s the second day now and still the status is unavailable

**Developer response:** Hi there.

For context, I get my data from the official Seaway website. This is explicitly stated in the app description. I do not create the data, I simply take existing data and put it in a nicer, easier to use format.

Unfortunately, the Seaway website was down for an extended period of time. I was aware of this issue, and unfortunately there was nothing I could do about it as the problem wasn't with my app or my backend server. Outages like this don't happen regularly though, and I am hoping another one as bad as this doesn't happen again for a while.

I encourage any users who regularly use the app to go to Settings, and tap the "Official Seaway Website" button when any issues arise and reach out to me if there are any issues that aren't present on the website. There are ways to contact me provided in the app.

As of writing this response, the website has been back up for about two days and the app is once again receiving data. However, if you would still like to get your money back, you may request a refund through Apple.

### 1/5 — Sat July 9 3:00 pm

I am sitting in a long line of traffic at the Glendale Ave canal bridge.
Your app shows the bridge is available

**Developer response:** Hi there! Sorry to hear that the app didn’t work out and caused an issue for you.

Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that the website I take the data from isn’t always provide the correct information. It’s accurate most of the time, but occasionally it doesn’t update. It has been doing this more often than not lately.

This also means that, when this happens, my app will provide you the same incorrect information, and unfortunately I cannot do anything about that.

I am hoping the issue resolves itself naturally but I may reach out to the website maintainers to see if there is an issue if it doesn’t.

Hope this helps you. Sorry again for the inconvenience. Please feel free to reach out to me via the email provided in the app if you have any more concerns.

### 2/5 — Missing information

*2024-11-05*

The app is missing information, like when the bridges will open next and on the map there are no distinguishing mark for the bridges to give some information to know where the ships are in relationship.
This is not as good as the original app I used to use for the Welland canal bridge status.

### 3/5 — Loved this app until recent update

*2024-10-17*

This app has been my lifeline for travelling as I cross the canal daily, but since the most recent update, I am unable to reinstall the widget for my Lock Screen and no longer see the subtitles that display how long a bridge has been raised for. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and no change. Hoping this will be fixed soon!

**Developer response:** Just wanted to update you and let you know these issues are fixed and the update is out! Thank you for your patience.

Hi there! So sorry about that, I had this ready but I forgot to fully add it to the app. I've got an update on the way that fixes this and it should be released within the next day or so.

As for the issue for the subtitles showing for the bridges, if you go into the Settings section of the app, and tap on the "Card Visuals Shown" dropdown, you can choose "Both" to get both the icon and the subtitle displayed. Hope this helps!

### 4/5 — Great app, issues after update

*2024-11-06*

App has worked great for some time, lately I can’t get the widgets to change bridges, it just stays on “lakeshore” no matter what the order I choose. My favourite is set to Allanburg.

### 4/5 — Still Issues After Update.

*2024-10-23*

Thanks for updating the Lock Screen feature in this app. However there is still an issue with the widgets. On the two smaller sized widgets there is no way to select a bridge. You can only select the bridge on the largest size widget.

**Developer response:** Just wanted to let you know this issue is fixed if you update the app! Thanks again for your patience.

Hi there! Really sorry about that, I had the updated lock screen widgets, but I did not add them to the app by accident. I've got an update on the way that fixes this and it should be released within the next day or so. Please check back in about a day or so, and the update should be out! Thank you for your patience!

### 4/5 — Bridge lift duration

*2024-10-17*

Hi there, since the update the duration of bridges being up has been removed. It’s a really good indicator of a double boat passing when you see the duration climb above 15 minutes.

When driving, I don’t go to the MAP view as it’s too distracting.

Can you please reimplement the durations for raised bridges? It was an amazing feature.

**Developer response:** Just wanted to let you know the issue is fixed and the update is out! Thank you for your patience.

Hi there! Sorry about that. This was something that appeared to work when I was performing some updates, but it didn't appear to transfer over. I've got an update on the way that will fix this automatically, but for now, if you go into the Settings section of the app, and tap on the "Card Visuals Shown" dropdown, you can choose "Both" to get both the icon and the subtitle displayed. Hope this helps!

### 4/5 — Great App

*2023-09-12*

Love this app. Would love for the “time till raising” would be listed as sometimes it says raising soon for over 10 minutes.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for your review!

Unfortunately I am unable to get this data for the St. Catharines bridges. It is not possible with the data the Seaway currently provides. It is available for the Port Colborne bridges, but not for St. Catharines.

I've added a map so you can check it and make your own assumptions when the status is "Raising Soon," but I understand that this isn't the ideal solution.

I will update the app should the Seaway start providing this data to users!

### 4/5 — Raising soon

*2023-08-20*

It would be great if you added how long until the bridge is raised instead of “raising soon”. 😁

**Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for your review!

As much as I would love to make this a feature for the St. Catharines bridges, it is not currently possible with the data the Seaway provides. It is available for the Port Colborne bridges, but not St. Catharines unfortunately.

I've attempted to work around this by adding a map so you can make your own judgements when it says "Raising Soon" but understand that this isn't an ideal solution.

I will keep check of the website and will update the app should they provide this data!

Great app; having the widget on my home screen with the local bridge is super convenient.

### 5/5 — Harry D

*2024-04-05*

Canal bridge app was working fine, now the app won’t open. Starts for a split second then closes. Why? I needed it today.
Update today April 5th. App is working fine now, I really like it.

**Developer response:** Hi there!

Sorry to hear the troubles that this has caused you. There was an issue on my end where a part of the app assumed the Seaway website was always up and reachable, but over the past few days their website has had quite a bit of downtime it seems.

I am submitting an update as I am writing this to fix the issue.
This will mean that although some bridges might not show up when one of the Seaway pages is down, the app shouldn't immediately crash.

Thank you for your continued support in using the app! Hopefully the coming update fixes this issue for you. Please let me know if you have any more issues!

### 5/5 — Responsive

*2023-07-08*

Love this guy. I had a similar problem to some users with the bridge names. I emailed the developer and he responded immediately. That was two days ago and the updates have already been made. Very simple and clear.

### 5/5 — Great concept!

*2023-07-08*

I am really excited to see that there is finally an app for iPhone users that will tell us when the bridges are up in the Niagara area. It’s fantastic that a local teenager developed it! I will be using it daily.

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2023-07-07*

This solves a real problem for us. Great job and well done on the initiative.

### 5/5 — Handy App

*2023-07-07*

### 5/5 — Thank you!!

*2023-07-06*

Awesome job on this app. So helpful! Thank you for creating it.

### 5/5 — Been waiting for an app like this

*2023-07-06*

This is just what Niagara Region needed! Well worth the .99! Get this if you need to cross the bridges ever, so so much easier and convenient. Very quick glance to see what’s happening too, not overly complicated like other bridge apps. Thanks for designing this!

### 5/5 — Accurate

*2023-07-06*

This App is extremely accurate. It’s very handy when I’m planning my trip and need to see what bridges we up. Thanks
