### 5/5 — Most detailed and best at explaining the weather

*2025-07-20, version 6.9.0*

Nick is a top notch meteorologist. He gives his all with giving the weather details. Makes it easy to understand for everyone. Keep up the great work sir.

### 5/5 — Best weather app out there

*2025-07-19, version 6.9.0*

Very reliable and well put together.

### 5/5 — Best Weather App

*2025-07-19, version 6.9.0*

This is literally the best free weather app out there! I’ve been using it since it first released, and it’s always my first stop when gathering information about the latest severe weather forecasts.

### 5/5 — Great app! Recommend to everyone!

*2025-07-16, version 6.9.0*

Yes, I have the weather app that came with my phone plus weather apps from the two local tv stations, but this is my go to in severe weather. Nick was at our local station before he started his website and then expanded to this app. I love that the app loads quickly and gives me almost instant access to what’s happening where I am and at home if I’m traveling. You can get “just the facts” or a detailed scientific explanation of what’s happening and what to expect. We lose our satellite service quite often due to just heavy rain, so it’s good to know that Nick and his team are just a click away on my phone.

### 5/5 — The best weather app out there!

*2025-07-16, version 6.9.0*

If you’re looking for fear/hype forecasting, this isn’t for you. But if you want a sensible approach to the forecast and occasionally getting into the science of why, this is what you’re looking for. Great job Nick and crew!

### 5/5 — A Reliable, No-Nonsense Weather App You Can Trust

*2025-07-16, version 6.9.0*

Nickleblock Forecasting is hands-down the most reliable weather source for our area. Created by our longtime local weatherman, this app continues the same straightforward, science-based forecasting we've come to trust over the years. Even though he's moved on to a different role professionally, his commitment to keeping our region informed hasn't changed.

What sets this app apart is its honesty and clarity. There's no hype, no fear-mongering, no sensationalism—just facts, patterns, and practical explanations about what's headed our way.

### 5/5 — The best

*2025-07-16, version 6.9.0*

Thankful for a meteorologist who doesn’t fear monger and scare you with the forecast, but goes into detail and explains things for those of us who don’t understand most of what he’s saying. Keep up the good work, we appreciate you!

### 5/5 — In-depth and accurate forecasts

*2025-07-16, version 6.9.0*

Followed Nick since he was chief meteorologist at my local weather station. This app is great.

### 4/5 — Customizable Alerts are a Win

*2025-04-03, version 6.9.0*

So far, I like this app. I saw it mentioned somewhere on social media and I have been looking for a weather app to receive severe weather alerts. You can set alerts for your current location, customized locations, or both. But what sets it apart from most of the popular weather apps is the ability to customize which specific alerts you want to receive, which is very rare in most weather apps. For example, I might want to receive tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings, but not flood warnings. With this app, you can do that. I have been comparing it to Wunderground along with the built-in Apple weather alerts, and so far I have been receiving Wunderground alerts first, followed by NickelBlock, followed by Apple weather. I’m not sure why NickelBlock’s alerts are 10-15 seconds behind Wunderground. Another difference (that I like) is that NickelBlock appears to only alert you if your defined locations are within the warning polygon. This is how it should be. In comparison, Wunderground and Apple Weather will alert you if there is a warning anywhere in your county which may or may not affect your specific location. The only thing I would like to see as an improvement is for the app to send severe weather alerts as a critical notification (or at least give the option to toggle that on/off).

### 5/5 — Best of the Best

*2023-03-14, version 6.8.2*

This app features a quick look or if you have plans, more detailed info. This is my go to app, plus in the south our weather changes by the hour. Absolutely the best weather app !!
