Niente is sound to fall asleep to. Rain at the window, surf, a fireplace, a Japanese zen garden. 78 soundscapes and 60 single sounds, each one recorded on its own: rain without birds, woods without a brook. Layer up to five of them, set each one where you want it, save the mix and start it again tomorrow with one tap. The timer is always on. The session fades out over the last five minutes, so quietly that you miss the ending. All night is there too, if you choose it. Eight spoken sessions take you to a place and say goodbye before the sound takes over. The voice does not come back. AirPlay sends it to a HomePod. From the Lock Screen you can pause, add 15 minutes or switch soundscapes without unlocking your phone. Niente is available as a yearly or monthly subscription. The yearly plan starts with a free week. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. You can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. If you would rather pay once, you can buy Niente for good, with Family Sharing for up to six people. If you already bought Niente, you keep everything, including what is still to come. If you downloaded Niente before version 1.3, eight sounds, the mixer, the timer and your own mixes stay free. New places are added regularly. The app needs no account. It plays in airplane mode. The spoken sessions are produced with an AI voice, from scripts written by hand. Some recordings come from the RØDE Ambisonic Sound Library (CC BY 4.0). The timer keeps running. • When a session fades out by itself, the card stays for up to four hours. If you wake up at night, one tap starts it again. • The player now always shows the soundscape's picture in the background. • Fixed: right at the end, the sound briefly got louder again before it stopped. ### 1.4 — 2026-10-02 New in Niente 1.4 • A few questions about your evening, and Niente sets the timer, voice and sound for you. • If you like, Niente reminds you before bed, at the time you choose. • Siri can now suggest your soundscapes on the Lock Screen. ### 1.3 — 2026-09-30 Niente is now a subscription: yearly with a free first week, or monthly. If you would rather pay once, you can still buy Niente for good. If you already bought Niente, nothing changes for you. You keep everything, including what is still to come. And if you downloaded Niente before this update, you keep the eight free sounds, the mixer, the timer and your mixes. In Mixes, soundscapes now sit on nine shelves, sorted by place: Quiet Places, Rain, By the Water, Fire, Forest and Mountains, Out at Night, On the Move, Night in the City and Inside. At the bottom of Tonight you can browse by place. In Sounds, the places now start with their stones too. A single sound shows its sign in the player. The voices in Wind Down stand upright, with a larger image. The same evening is no longer saved twice. Niente merges duplicate mixes when it starts. ### 1.2 — 2026-09-26 The big update. Every sound now has its own sign. Tap several in the library and they layer up. The new Wind Down tab gathers the spoken sessions and short pieces about sleep. Three new sound beds: Quiet Chord, Wide and Bright, and Floating. Music without a melody, to lie under rain or wind. The noise colours now look like fabric, with folds that follow the sound. Tonight is tidier: your last mix up front, your favourites and mixes below. The Lock Screen now shows only when the session ends, with one button for 15 more minutes. New widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy: tonight's soundscape and your last mix, one tap to play. The player now shows a soft image of what is playing behind the time left. Tap the small cover to switch back. Settings are reorganised around the evening: timer, fade, voice, reminders, playback. Every row says in one sentence what it means for tonight. If you agree, Niente counts anonymously which paths through the app are used. Only after you say yes, and with no identifier. You can see it and turn it off any time under Settings › Privacy. ## Apps similar to Niente | App | Rating | Price | Category | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [Lullaby AI: Baby Sleep](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/lullaby-ai-baby-sleep/id6755955607) | 5.0 (2) | Free | Health & Fitness | | [White Noise: Ambient Sounds](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/white-noise-ambient-sounds/id6760613233) | — | Free | Health & Fitness | | [Sleep Sound : White Noise](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/sleep-sound-white-noise/id6784929579) | — | Free | Health & Fitness | | [Sleep Sounds — Sleep.fm](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/sleep-sounds-sleepfm/id6803206218) | — | Free | Health & Fitness | | [Sleep Sounds: Rain & Music](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/sleep-sounds-rain-and-music/id6793171437) | — | Free | Health & Fitness | | [NoiseCraft: Sleep & Focus](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/noisecraft-sleep-and-focus/id6747891000) | 5.0 (1) | Free | Health & Fitness | ## More apps by Felix Tilly - [strobooth](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/strobooth/id6808200902) All apps by Felix Tilly: https://appshunter.io/developer/6807221364 --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
