Although I only used it occasionally it has a pleasing design and it worked very well. Unfortunately an update January 2025 that implied was simply a bug fix etc, turned into a subscription app with some of the colours previously available now locked unless you subscribe per month. Sadly, since I use it infrequently, this model is not suitable. A one-off payment would be, however. Since my previous review, the developer has contacted me (via the review on iPhone ) and said the old colours are now unlocked. They are considering a one-time payment option. Here’s hoping… PS On the Mac App Store the in app purchase option is simply £2.99, implying it’s a one-time purchase. On the iPhone App Store, the £2.99 is for a month’s subscription. ### 1/5 — Was Fine, Then Got Annoying *2025-01-16, version 3.2* Was a great app then it updated….. Then its homescreen wouldn’t work unless I upgraded to the premium monthly paid version. Ok then. DELETE. You’re a night light app. ### 2/5 — Sadly Deleted Due to Subscription *2025-01-13, version 3.1* Rather disappointed to update this app only to find that I have to subscribe monthly to unlock the new colours etc and that some old colours are now locked. Fair enough, but there’s no warning. Also your description still states 100% free - twice! What a pity that there’s no option to buy outright - as I’m only an occasional user it’s not worth subscribing. Such a nice app too, which I have now deleted. PS what does the “Restore” button do? It doesn’t revert to old version, more’s the pity. ### 1/5 — Sudden paywall made me lose sleep *2025-01-12* I have struggled with falling asleep my whole long life. I enjoyed this simple nightlight and did not need all the bells and whistles. Just a plain orange- yellow light. And then I went to bed one night and I could not get past the “offer” to upgrade. I kept pressing “no thanks” and it kept returning me to the same “offer.” I closed the app and opened it. I deleted and reinstalled. This level of stimulation then kept me up and I could not sleep without taking a tranquilizer. I finally figured it out the next day, when suddenly my orange-yellow light was now going to cost me. That’s fine, a lot of apps are like that. Nothing for free in this world. I know app developers don’t have my health in mind at all, so they have the right to just change stuff up at any point with no warning and no explanation. And I have the right to not buy the product and complain about it. I’d love for you to give the app another shot and hopefully find it as helpful as before 🧡 ### 1/5 — looking for something else *2025-01-11* i am actually so disappointed this was my favorite nightlight. there was no ads or anything i mean why should there even be if you are asleep? it’s odd. i tried skipping the subscription and now the app is useless. if you say not now it just literally resets and shows the same ad subscription screen. i understand making a profit however i don’t care about the extra colors or alarms. i use one color purple. this is actually so crazy to me that y’all really want a subscription so bad you’re willing to completely lose users. **Developer response:** Hey! Hope this becomes your favorite nightlight again 💜 ### 4/5 — This app is amazing but… *2025-01-11, version 3.0* So I love using this app on vacations because it does not drain my phones battery, and I NEED light and sound to sleep. Also my nightlights remote got lost by a family friend’s son and this app has been a lifesaver! But on the flip side some of the colors are very bright to where even when it’s low it can be hard to focus on sleep. Also with the new update it is not allowing me to use the normal colors and sounds. I have clicked on the “No thanks” button several times and it is not letting me use the default colors. Please fix this glitch so I don’t have to drain my phone battery using YouTube for sleep! I stepped away for a bit to take a bathroom break and when I came back my iPad was glitching out. I couldn’t restart it because it wouldn’t turn off the light. It was stuck on the light, glitching entirely. Sometimes it would go black but it would still be on. Sometimes it wouldn’t turn on. My iPad completely crashed and I was very worried it was unsalvageable.
