## What is NihonGo?

Same word. Two meanings. Can you hear the difference?

hashi is chopsticks - or a bridge. ame is rain - or candy. The only difference is the pitch: the melody of high and low that Japanese textbooks never teach.

NihonGo trains your ear to hear it, and your voice to say it.

EAR SPRINT - 60 seconds a day
A fast two-choice listening game. Hear a word, pick what it was. 36 minimal pairs, including the ones that only separate when a particle follows. One sprint keeps your streak safe - no guilt, ever.

PATTERN DRILL - name the shape
Hear a word and say which of the four accent types it is: atamadaka, nakadaka, odaka or heiban. 611 words, drawn evenly across all four so no pattern can hide.

PITCH KARAOKE - say it and see it
Hold the mic, say the word, and watch your pitch fly across the screen. Your voice is analyzed on-device in real time - nothing is recorded or uploaded.

HOW THE AUDIO WAS MADE
Every word's accent comes from the OpenJTalk accent dictionary. Then every recording was measured - the actual pitch curve checked against the accent it claims to teach. Words whose audio did not match were thrown out. 818 recorded, 611 kept. Nothing here is guessed.

HONEST SCORING
No fake praise. We show your pitch, mora by mora, against the target - where you rose, where you fell, and by how much. When you score well, you earned it.
