### 4/5 — Update

*2025-02-04, version 2.5.8*

Needs updating (specifically 360 buck hammer)

### 2/5 — Kicks me out

*2023-11-29, version 2.5.7*

We have been using this app with our muzzleloader for 3yrs now and all of the sudden when I select the bullet, it kicks me out of the app, very disappointing….

### 2/5 — Pro staff p3 muzzleloader

*2023-11-12, version 2.5.7*

App used to work great but for some reason this year I can’t get anything to work with a 50 cal. Soon as I select a bullet app closes

### 2/5 — Crashes

*2023-11-04, version 2.5.7*

Try to change from my shotgun to muzzleloader and once I select the grain bullet it closes out no matter the bullet manufacturer or the grain size. Can’t even use the app! It has worked in the past so not sure what has happened.

### 1/5 — Locks up

*2023-09-29, version 2.5.6*

Have a inline bdc muzzleloader scope and the app use to work great. App updated and now when you pick your bullet it just kicks you out of the app.

### 1/5 — New version bugs

*2023-02-03, version 2.5.6*

The old version worked fine, but the new version will not load correct information for the ammo selected !

### 1/5 — Iso crashes

*2023-01-20, version 2.5.6*

Like the idea of the app but crashes every time I enter stuff uninstalled reinstalled updated many times still does it

### 2/5 — Not reliable

*2023-01-08, version 2.5.6*

This worked great when I first got it. Now when you input the caliber/bullet information it closes the app. This has been happening for the past several weeks. Hope they put out a new patch to fix this. App is useless as it is now.

### 1/5 — *not a* Very good app (updated)

*2023-01-03, version 2.5.6*

Update - used for years but now appears that Nikon sabotaged the app when they abandoned the rifle scope market. What a huge disservice to their loyal customers over the years.
——-
I use this app frequently. The data is excellent - very useful at the range and in the field. The interface is a bit clunky. I would like to be able to save specific ammunition selections, or at least be able to search by typing rather than scrolling. I would also like to see a “go back” button for the bullet-only screen.

### 1/5 — Nikon Crashed the App on purpose!!!

*2023-01-01, version 2.5.6*

I have used this app for 10 years. I bough only Nikon scope for years cause of this app. Now about 4 months ago they did an update and it has not worked since. I get they don’t want to make and sale rifle scopes anymore but this is just ridiculous!!! A lot of us have gave Nikon a lot of our money over the years and this is how they treat us!!!!

### 1/5 — App hardly ever works

*2022-12-17, version 2.5.6*

The app will not work type everything in as soon as you select your bullet the app kicks you off.

### 3/5 — Muzzle Velocity Problem

*2022-12-01, version 2.5.6*

I loved the iPhone version until the last update. It now shows 2800 fps for muzzle velocity regardless of caliber or load. This makes all my downrange drop data off. Correcting this would make it great.

### 1/5 — Keeps Shutting Down

*2022-11-28, version 2.5.6*

Every time I enter the ammo size, the app shuts down and doesn’t save.

### 1/5 — Craps out

*2022-11-27, version 2.5.6*

Current version shuts down when I select my bullet from the list of muzzle loader bullets. App is now relatively worthless to me.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2022-11-17, version 2.5.6*

I own the inline xr 300 mainly because of the spot on ballistic ap. Gave me confidence in my set up having a basic idea of yardage on each power and drop down point. Recently moved my zero from 100 yards to 150 yards and now the ap just crashes during bullet selection process. Just because nikon discontinues production on something doesn’t mean people owning the product don’t still use it. The cost of shooting a black powder isn’t cheap sure can’t afford burning through dozens of loads figuring out my drop downs. Basically have useless 300$ piece of equipment beyond 150 yards attached to my smoke stick now. With drop down points obstructing my view and the scopes ability to be used in low light conditions.

### 1/5 — Crashes 4 years ago. Still no fix

*2022-11-16, version 2.5.6*

What a shame. This is Nikon we’re talking about. This app crashes 4years ago and still crashes today. You’d think they’d fix this by now being NIKON and all.

### 4/5 — What’s up

*2022-11-09, version 2.5.6*

App great now just freezes

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-10-28, version 2.5.7*

Won’t open with updated iso. I will now sell all of my Nikon optics and go back to turret dialing. Thanks Nikon

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2024-08-21, version 2.5.7*

I’m attempting to put in my information for a 50 caliber CVA Wolf muzzleloader. I put in my my information (scope, caliber, ammo brand, bullet weight and type) and nothing happens. It just jumps back to the beginning like I never put my information in.

### 1/5 — Crash and burn

*2024-06-16, version 2.5.7*

What a shame has the potential to be a really good app
Crashes all the time can’t get the information I need

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2023-12-02, version 2.5.7*

Crashes every time

### 1/5 — App closes out

*2023-11-19, version 2.5.7*

I had this app in the past. iPhone13 pro all updates etc. I get to find bullet and as soon as I click, the app closes. App and phone are up to date. Is there a bug with iPhones?

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2023-11-12, version 2.5.7*

App crashes trying to select 50 cal rem ammo. Really.

### 1/5 — New bug with update

*2023-11-04, version 2.5.7*

When choosing ammo, the last step causes the app to crash. I have tested this on 3 devices that have the update and all crash.

### 1/5 — Not what it used to be

*2023-11-01, version 2.5.7*

I ran this for years on my android. Switch to iPhone this year and just downloaded the app. Unable to use it. I can put in info all the way up to selecting the round I’m using. Once I select the ammo it crashes. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but it’s no use

### 1/5 — Used to be great app

*2023-10-21, version 2.5.7*

Now its crap and has been past couple years. I pick out scope and bullet manufacture then click in ammo pick ammo and it crashes every time. Im bout to get rid if nikon scopes and move to something else. Mind you i just literally did the latest update, the only reason i tried again was i saw it had an update had i known it was same crap i wouldn’t have wasted my time.

### 1/5 — Constantly crashes

*2023-10-21, version 2.5.7*

Crashes and closes when I try to change my details to get ballistics

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — BDC muzzleloader

*2024-01-21, version 2.5.7*

Downloaded a few years ago for my muzzleloader scope. Installed the slug gun bdc scope and works great on my muzzleloader. I have used the app for every rifle I have with the extensive caliber and ammo combination that will calculate the ballistics. The other apps require manual inputs for velocities and other parameters.

### 5/5 — This has helped my yardage

*2023-12-28, version 2.5.7*

This app has given me the confidence and knowledge on my yardage and aim. Very useful tool in making lethal shots.

### 5/5 — Absolutely Amazing APP!!!!

*2023-09-16, version 2.5.6*

The Nikon Spot On app is by far the best ballistic calculator out there for Nikon scopes. It is unfortunately that Nikon got out out of the scope market. Their scopes were far superior to every one else’s!

### 5/5 — Never have had a problem

*2020-12-01, version 2.5.1*

I have had this app for over 5 years and never have had any issues whatsoever.
It’s been great for me!

### 5/5 — Great simple free ballistic calculator

*2019-09-08, version 2.4.9*

This ballistic calculator could be better
But Nikon Spot on is good enough

Nikon seems to listen and SLOWLY incorporating the features we need
I.e saved multiple rifle and ammo profiles
Remember
Garbage in = garbage out
Make sure your muzzle velocity is correct
, BC is correct
Sight height is correct
Altitude ,pressure , temp and humidity is close

With the same exact data
Nikon spot on is only 1 click or 2 differ than Strelock Pro , Bullet drop , applied ballistic and other ballistic calculator

Even getting a kestrel 5700 elite does not make you any better

So stop listening to those who think ballistic calculator is MAGIC BULLET
You HAVE TO provide correct data
And then use some field data to correct the dope at long distance

Learn how to use this Apps
It will help your shooting tremendously

### 5/5 — Nikon Spot on - great check on sighting

*2019-07-20*

Love this program/app! It works very well for all loads, and scopes. You can even use it to set a zero for another brand scope. I can use it to check my longer range zero when I only have a close range target.

### 5/5 — Newt1868

*2019-05-11*

This app works. I have yet to have any problems with I phone. To test app I spent at least 2 hours switching everything, no crash problems. Thank you Nikon. Great products at what I call a justifiable cost. I was going to spend 3k+ on a scope. No need. Once you learn the power settings and understand the mirage calling wind you don’t need a reticle that looks like a box of tooth pics.

### 5/5 — 5 Stars after update!!!!!

*2019-03-05, version 2.4.8*

Finally!! The ability to save multiple scopes with different calibers!! Great!! Works flawlessly!!! One wish would be the ability to name them. Great app. Thanks!!!

### 5/5 — Finally I Can Save Profiles

*2019-03-01*

This app has always worked for me and I’ve been amazed and how accurate it is with bullet drop. I just have to pick the right part of the appropriate circle and it’s game on every time. My only gripe all along was I had to reenter the scope (only Nikons), gun, and ammo selection every time I switched from slug gun, muzzleloader, and multiple rifles depending on the different game and phases of the hunting season. Now, I have a profile for each different firearm and scope in my safe. What a difference it makes to quickly switch to the profile I need when I head out instead putting in everything each time. Thanks Nikon!

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2018-12-07, version 2.4.3*

I used this at the range for several settings of .22 LR and .17 HMR. It works great on my phone (iPhone SE) and really helps set my guns. Also good for the old discontinued model Slug Hunter BDC I’m using.

Will definitely recommend to others.
