## What is NimblePOS?

NimblePOS - A next generation Point-of-Sale system, suitable for multiple verticals, including fast food/fast casual restaurants, table service restaurants, bars / breweries, retail, deli, and others. Works with multiple credit card providers.

### 2.4.3 — 2026-09-02

**New Features**

- EBT support for Pax, Dejavoo, and Valor devices. 
- Driver / Delivery persona for stores with in-house delivery management needs. 
- For restaurant personas, items and departments can now be assigned colors. 
- Customer default payment options have been created. Currently only supporting Nimble house accounts, Nimble Gift Cards, and Cardivo gift cards. 
- Employee messages, including message of the day, clock in messages, clock out messages, and messages for manual End-of-Day
- Pax credit card readers can now be toggled between online and offline processing mode inside of the point-of-sale. Not this requires your card processor to configure your account to allow for offline processing.

**Changes**

- Service types can now be configured to not allow payments for stores that need to enforce strict rules around quote handling, etc.
- Items sold by weight and using an integrated scale can now be set to prompt for a manual tare weight adjustment. E.g., a merchant has a program where their customers can fill various containers with product. The manual tare adjustment allows for the system to subtract a known package weight from the final total.
- Refunds can now be used to trigger a print receipt
- payment-provider service charges are now listed as separate line items in a receipt below the receipt items instead of being part of the receipt items. This helps provide clarity on receipts. 
- There was some confusion around setting up variably priced items. All items that are available in the system have to have a price, even if it's zero dollars, and even if the item is set to use a variable price. Additional clarity was added around this to ensure the merchant understands the process.
- The customer facing display application will now show items added to an order more quickly. 
- Dejavoo customers can now set their compatible dejavoo credit card reader to print its own receipt. This does not currently support printing Nimble receipts, end of day reports, etc. 
- Simplified known / network printer management and register default printer selections
- Added network printer discovery capabilities to network printer management
- Added network credit card terminal discovery capabilities to register management
- Simplified cash drawer configuration for registers

**Bug Fixes**

- In some cases, non-authorized devices were not able to see all of the enabled features / apps for a store. That has been corrected.
- In some cases, in retail or market persona, if the EoD was missed, it could cause an intermittent crash in the POS. This has been corrected.
- Back office menu searches in restaurant personas were only searching for item names that start with the search terms, instead of anywhere in the item name. This has been corrected.

### 2.3.12 — 2026-08-22

- Some restaurants with multiple stations would occasionally have duplicate order numbers. This has been corrected.
- You can now tip on same-day closed orders without re-opening the order

### 2.3.8 — 2026-07-03

Changes

- If you are in retail persona and use Quickpay against a Nimble Giftcard that does not have enough of a balance to pay for the order, the system will prompt it you want to charge the balance to the card. Normal payment via cashout remains unchanged.

Bug Fixes

- If your system was configured to use a Pax credit card reader as a customer facing display and the POS could not connect to the CFD app, the system could start running slow. That has been corrected.
- In some cases, POS clients would start running slow because the local database was not clearing out upon reboot. That has been corrected.
- In some cases, POS clients would start running slow over time because the local operational database was cascading all receipt items for all orders instead of just the orders for the current business day. That has been corrected.
- In some cases, it was possible to get a duplicate gift card payment applied to an order without a duplicate gift card charge. That has been corrected.

### 2.3.6 — 2026-06-17

**New Features**
- Salon Spa Persona is in general release. For information on Salon / Spa, please contact your representative or check the documentation for more details on configuration and usage.
- For restaurant personas, items can now be voided in the item panel. Tap on an item on the receipt when editing an item and select "Void Item". Note that permission requirements for voiding items is unchanged- Items voided after the item has been sent to the kitchen requires a manager approval.
- For restaurant personas, items can be individually held using the Hold/Release item button in the item management panel. Items being held will change the color in the receipt view to denote that. Items printed to the kitchen will also show up in a slightly different color on the receipt to denote that the item has already been sent to the kitchen. The different colors depend on the specific color theme (e.g., dark mode, light mode, etc)
- More customer controls are added in front-of-house operations for customer management, including the addition of customer and delivery notes to be added or edited. Note that delivery notes will print on receipts with customer addresses, but customer notes do not.
- In item management, editing or creating an item allows for basic inventory configuration to happen in-line with the rest of the item, including now setting a safety stock and updating quantity on hand. Note that additional inventory controls, such as setting up vendor and manufacturing information, is not surfaced as part of this to keep operations streamlined. Full inventory control features under the inventory panel is unchanged.
- Item descriptions can now be printed on receipts.


**Changes**
- You can now select specific print options on receipts when configuring a print rule. This allows each print rule to chose which items to print as part of the rule instead of requiring a separate receipt to be set up for the store. Existing behavior is unchanged.
- Items with quantity modifiers can now have those adjustments made in a workflow (Restaurant personas and Market persona). Items with configured quantity modifiers will have a gear on the button when pressed to denote additional item-specific options.
- Stores with left, right, and whole modifiers will get a special pizza-view in that quantity modifier screen to quickly select left, right, and whole.
- In table management persona, the guest count is now a button that brings up a number pad instead of a text field that uses the on-screen keyboard. This simplifies that process.
- Refund has been added directly to table management persona.
- A customer's company can now be printed on a customer receipt
- For Pax devices, a new application has been created to handle all customer facing display functionality, including cash vs credit pricing. To install, you will need to install the Nimble CFD application from the Pax app store on the credit card terminal, and have your POS support team configure the payment provider on each register to use the pax device as a second screen. This is a breaking change versus the legacy method of displaying that information to customers. There is no charge for the application.
- For restaurant personas, there have been targed performance improvements in the order screen for slower hardware. In addition, a new "Calculating" pop-up has been added to the process when adding a payment to an order in a restaurant persona.

### 2.2.6 — 2026-04-15

Customers with very large customer databases - 10k+ customers - were experiencing issues with the POS loading at start up. This has been corrected.
