## What is Nimblist?

Nimblist is the collaborative grocery list your whole household shares. Updates appear on everyone's phone in real time, so you never buy the milk someone already grabbed.

It does everything a shopping list should — then a few things no other one does.

SHOP TOGETHER, IN REAL TIME
• Share a list with family or housemates — add, tick off, and edit together live
• Items auto-sort into aisles so you shop the store in order
• Add several items at once by voice — say them, check the review step, done
• Or scan a barcode or type — either way, items are categorised for you

TURN ANY RECIPE INTO A LIST
• Import a recipe from a URL straight to your list
• Snap a photo of a cookbook page or handwritten recipe and Nimblist reads the ingredients
• Save, tag, and share recipes with your household

COOK FROM WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE
• Track your kitchen pantry — see what you can cook right now
• Adding a recipe skips what's already in your cupboard

### 5/5 — Super Handy

*2026-08-21*

I love this app - it’s so useful - shopping list that we can all add to real time, weekly planner and loads of smart features

### 5/5 — Blazing fast and super efficient

*2026-08-10*

Came across this totally by chance a few weeks ago, was using it as a website and have started using the app too.

I’ve been looking for a good all-in-one app for recipes, meal planning, and grocery list and this one finally hits the mark! Super fast, easy to use, works really well. It’s a new one on the market so I’m excited to see what comes next, everything is really thoughtfully integrated.

Also the recipe import is incredibly fast and super accurate, I almost can’t believe it.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.18 — 2026-08-26

Not every night is a recipe.
You can now add anything to your meal plan by typing it straight onto the day — "Takeaway", "Leftovers", "Dinner at Mum's". No need to save a recipe first.
One-offs sit on the plan alongside your recipes, so the week reflects what you're actually eating rather than only the nights you cook from a recipe.
And when you add the plan to a shopping list, the text comes across as an item — so the nights that still need something picking up don't get missed.
Also fixed: the Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Snack buttons could appear cut off when adding a meal.

### 1.1.16 — 2026-08-22

Add items by voice.

• Tap the mic next to the add box and just say what you need — "milk, six eggs and a loaf of bread" becomes three items.
• Everything you say goes to a review step first, so you can fix a misheard word before it reaches the list.
• Your phone does the recognition where your language supports it, and Nimblist never stores the recording.

### 1.1.9 — 2026-08-11

Finding your way around Nimblist just got easier.

A quick tour when you first sign in
See what each of the five tabs is for — Lists, Recipes, Plan, Pantry and Family — in under a minute. Skip it whenever you like, and replay it any time from Help & guides in your account menu.

A Getting started checklist
Your Lists tab now shows a short checklist: create a list, add items, invite your household, save a recipe, stock your pantry. It ticks itself off as you go, and because progress is kept with your account it stays in step whether you're on your phone or the web. It disappears for good once you're set up.

Help & guides in your account menu
Our how-to guides are now a tap away, instead of only on the website.

Empty screens that actually help
Recipes, Plan, Pantry and Family used to greet you with a blank page. Now each one tells you what to do next and gives you a button to do it.

### 1.1.8 — 2026-07-29

Cook-along mode is here.
• Tick off ingredients as you use them — they stay ticked while you cook.
• Tap a step to mark where you are; the rest dim so you don't lose your place.
• Start a timer straight from a step ("simmer for 20 minutes"). It keeps running
with the app closed or your phone locked, and alerts you when it's done.
• Lists now open ready to add items, instead of jumping straight into shopping.

### 1.1.7 — 2026-07-28

This release focuses on stability and polish — a few under-the-hood fixes so shared lists, recipes and your pantry stay fast and reliable. As always, thanks for using Nimblist.
