### 4/5 — Great for a well rounded practice tool

*2020-02-12*

I really like this app. It’s great for practicing each phase of learning. My only complaint is ; too much time runs off the clock before you’re able to select a different answer after selecting the wrong answer. It’s a several second delay before you can choose another answer.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback! We just release an update that shortens the time you have to wait to select another answer after picking a wrong answer. We would love to get your feedback on the improvement. Keep the feedback coming!

### 5/5 — Limited number of users

*2019-08-19*

Nice leveling but number of users is limited to 8 so music teachers be aware.

**Developer response:** We are happy to inform you that a free app update is now available that enables unlimited players! Please check it out and let us know what you think!

### 5/5 — Piano teacher loves this app!

*2019-08-15*

My piano students are going to LOVE this app! I really like the way the levels progress and give a student plenty of repetition with the goal of doing the test fast enough.

My kids enjoy ningenius but this ultimate has so much more!

### 4/5 — It’s good

*2019-08-13*

Once I can add more than 8 people I will give it 5 stars.

**Developer response:** We are happy to report that we just released a free update to the app tha allows for unlimited-players!! Thank you for the great feedback! Keep it coming!!

### 5/5 — 5 Black Ninja Stars!!

*2019-08-12*

The best Music Ed App for young Instrumental (especially Band and Orchestra) Music Students! 5 Black (Ninja Throwing) Stars!!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2019-08-12*

Amazing App, this one is even better then the first one. Runs smooth, great additions, well paced, accurate info, and helped me “really learn” my scales, fingers and more!

### 4/5 — Great game

*2019-08-11*

Would love to see an option to use the words crotchet, quaver, bar (instead of measure) as that’s the terminology we use in Australia. Other than that I think this is brilliant. Thanks for making music theory fun

**Developer response:** This is a great suggestion! We will definitely make this an option once we get an instructor mode functioning in a future update to the app. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Fun comprehensive music app!

*2019-08-11*

This app is wonderful! Where other music learning apps focus on a single aspect of music like note names or rhythm, NinGenius Music Ultimate has it all! The sense of progression is cool, earning belts you go. And 19 band and orchestra instruments are available to learn!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — American terms only

*2021-02-28*

No use to me at all in Australia as the incorrect terms are used eg quarter instead of quaver etc.

### 1/5 — I

*2019-12-19*

The timer is so fast I don’t like it at all even though it is a little fun to play I guess also you need to make more belts

### 3/5 — Great game but buggy

*2022-10-08*

This is a good game for teaching music but it’s a little buggy.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I have a newer updated iPad so the developers really need to work out the bugs for me to give 5 stars. My students love being able to customize their ninja avatar!

### 3/5 — No sound

*2022-09-07*

After using it for couple of times the sound is gone.

### 3/5 — Any news on when alternative terminology is coming?

*2021-01-25*

I love this app BUT my students use British terminology (crotchet, quaver etc). Please can we have an alternative? I really want to use this app in my studio!

### 3/5 — Free for 12 Aug?

*2019-08-12*

Just charged me $4.49 :/. And it 8:15am; only 45 minutes after receiving email about the promotion

**Developer response:** We apologize for not knowing that App Store promotions function according to each time zone and not strictly to our time zone in the western US. If you contact us through www.ningenius.net we will gladly send you two free download codes, since we have no way of offering a refund. We hope that will help you in some way, and hope you find the app valuable to you and your music students.

### 4/5 — Dis game racist 5 starsQ

*2023-09-08, version 2.1.1*

I love dis game

### 4/5 — I like it but…

*2023-07-05*

It goes too fast and it only has lighting speed and super fast then good and it should take shorter.

### 4/5 — Needs a QR code

*2022-11-04, version 2.1.1*

Would love to see a QR code similar to kahoot so kids join a teacher game and it can be monitored by the teacher

### 4/5 — Great app

*2021-02-03*

I haven’t tried this with my students yet but it’s the best I can find for learning a large range of music theory. The speed aspect will hopefully encourage them to try the same level more than once in order to improve.
Would really love alternative rhythm nomenclature as the American rhythms are going to really confuse my kids. Quavers and Crochets please? Then I’ll give give u 5 stars!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great except no Guitar

*2026-07-10*

Please add the guitar to the list of instrument options

### 5/5 — very awesome but a little expensive

*2026-01-14*

this is a fun game to play for kids around the six grade but i feel like it could be cheaper since it is quite a quick game if your fast. this helps a lot for sight reading and i will love to play this until i am black belt.

### 5/5 — Good

*2025-08-17*

I thought this was gonna be bad but turns out it was actually pretty good. I think it’s a good way to learn and fun too.

### 5/5 — Older newplayer

*2023-06-26*

I needed a better way to learn this late in life. This is working

### 5/5 — Keeps Proving Valuable!

*2023-01-14*

This app keeps proving its value whenever I come back to it. It teaches and tests all the elements of music that you need to read music and play the right notes and rhythms. I’ve improved my knowledge, accuracy, and speed on so many musical instruments!

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2023-01-10*

I can not fathom how this app has changed my life for the better. I can now understand how to play a plethora of instruments, which is amazing. I love how the old man has no legs, favorite part hands down. I recommend, the five bucks is only a temporary barrier from the most incredible experience of a lifetime.

### 5/5 — Sound not working

*2022-08-11*

I love using this app with my beginners name of the school year but the sound is no longer working. Sound works on all of my other apps so I’m not sure what is going on

### 5/5 — It’s awesome

*2020-09-09*

It helps kids learn music in a cool way.

### 5/5 — This is great

*2020-08-10*

I think my students will like this. How much for students? We are distant learning starting next week

### 5/5 — An Indispensable Tool For My Students!

*2019-10-16*

I am so glad I have found this app! This is a perfect way to work on music theory in my students’ piano lessons!
