### 2/5 — It’s ok database programmers but not users

*2025-10-05, version 3.8.17*

The product has several templates that you can use, but those are very canned. To get this database to work for this price, require somebody to know some thing about database and software programming. I wanted to add nested tables and the forum didn’t help. Neither did customer support.

For the average user, I could recommend.MobiDB, HanDBase or Memento instead.

If you are a professional, I suspect you would want something more powerful than this.

### 2/5 — Bait and switch

*2022-12-05, version 3.7.10*

This is a not so easy database for new users and especially if you are not a programmer. The interface is versatile if you want to sit thru hours of webinars with a monotone speaker that makes you want to shoot yourself. However once you grasp the concept, pretty functional. However there is zero live help. Also, when I purchased subscription it was 29.99 with up to 5 users…. Today I go to log in… my account is disabled and they want to charge me almost $1200 for use of my database. Email support and they tell me to log on and renew… so if you want your business to be held hostage… use at your own risk.

### 4/5 — It works for me!

*2022-08-30, version 3.7.0*

I just wanted to create simple databases and have not needed to dive into the depths of this programme. The thing I like most is that the developers regularly release updates.

1 - Avoir un dark mode sur toutes les plateformes (MacOS, iOS et iPad) ;
2 - Pouvoir aussi passer en mode paysage.
Merci !

### 3/5 — Fallo al cargar fotografías

*2022-05-15, version 3.6.3*

### 4/5 — Good, but no manual sync

*2022-04-11*

I use the iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions of the Ninox app. From other reviews, it seems that the interface and experience was inconsistent between the different devices, but that seems to no longer be the case as there is one consistent look and experience across all three for me. The sync via iCloud works fairly well, too, with one note able exception, as there is no option to manually force a sync with the files in iCloud. That means that sometimes, upon working with data on one device, then switching to another, the data does not always match up. I’ve found a workaround by waiting before closing the app on the first device and then force closing the app, if it’s open, on the second and reopening it, but that is somewhat tedious. A sync option or button somewhere would hopefully improve this significantly. (That said, I’m not a software developer, so I don’t know what it would take to implement such an option.) Otherwise, it’s great, just that one glaring omission that is easy to work around.

### 2/5 — Why the UI change?

*2021-11-27*

I’ve been using this app for a few years and was very happy. Recently they completely redesigned the layout and UI (iPhone) and not for the better. It is more clunky and less intuitive than the old version. I never would have started using it if the old version was like this. Ugh.

### 4/5 — It’s good for beginners and simple databases.

*2021-06-08, version 2.8.4*

I’m used to MS Access and coding with VB, so compared to MS Access Ninox is inferior. Ninox is very limited. BUT, if you need a simple to setup and easy to use database on a Mac then Ninox will be perfect for you.

Pros: extremely easy and fast initial setup, decent UI, very cheap if you are a single user.

Cons: limited form design options, basically no reporting capabilities, can’t change the file path where attachments are saved, no VB or SQL backend that you can create personalized code.

I have a M1 and don’t want the ARM version of windows for Parallels. Once Parallels figures out how to run standard windows I’ll switch back to MS Access where I can make a database exactly the way i want it and have almost 100% control.

If you want something simple without having to run Windows, you will not be disappointed with Ninox.

### 4/5 — Facile d’utilisation, mais…

*2021-01-03, version 2.7.3*

### 3/5 — iPhone version

*2020-10-06, version 2.7.2*

Recent update: Enter time as 10:10:00 and it appears as 11:10:00 in the table making the database useless. The preformated time does not allow you to select the minutes, what rubbish.

### 2/5 — IPad not working

*2020-06-24, version 2.6.9*

After numerous attempts to get Ninox to work with my iPad, no dice. Support is sketchy at best leaving me totally frustrated. I paid to have it work on all my devices but it doesn’t..

### 2/5 — iCloud Sync...allegedly

*2019-11-16*

Single-user sync via iCloud is supposed to be a feature. I can’t get the files to sync reliably, and databases that appear on the desktop app ($35, thank you very much) don’t appear on the iPhone, but those on iPhone sometimes appear on the desktop app.

The developer’s only solution is to sign out of iCloud, reboot, then sign back into iCloud. Doing this once, on one device was silly (and time consuming), so I’m not going to do it on multiple devices.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nightmare database

*2022-08-09, version 3.6.10*

You pay, there's no support, you need a paying subscription to use the forum.

The software is not intuitive and most solutions require you to write code.

If you're looking for an easy to use database, this is not it.

### 1/5 — Disfonctionnement

*2021-10-11, version 3.5.1*

### 1/5 — Shockingly bad compared to the iPad version

*2021-03-06*

I am a HUGE fan of the iPad app, it’s literally the ONLY fully featured database/no-code app out there on iOS. It’s literally everything I could have hoped for; so I built out a whole system and was so excited to use it. When I downloaded the iPhone app so that I could use it on both devices, I was shocked to discover that the iPhone app looks like a completely different app, so ugly!

The iPad app is beautiful and pleasant to use. The iPhone app looks like a PowerPoint presentation from 1993 and its a headache to even look at. Using it just hurts.

It’s literally the ONLY reason I went with Clickup/Airtable instead of Ninox. If Ninox can get an iPhone app the looks and feels like the iPad app, so that switching between the two isn’t so jarring, even if it’s limited to essentially data entry, that would be so GREAT.

### 1/5 — Arnaque à l’abonnement ?

*2020-04-19, version 2.6.8*

Merci

### 1/5 — Lost all my info

*2019-03-26, version 2.5.3*

The last update wiped out all my information. App won’t even open on my phone. Deleted and reinstalled to no avail.

### 1/5 — Your Joking....Right?

*2019-01-14*

Super expensive annual subscription. Not sure what planet your on but how can you expect anyone to pay such a large amount for an annual subscription. How many subscriptions at this level could any one sustain? Ridiculous!

### 1/5 — UNRELIABLE - POOR AFTERCARE

*2019-01-08, version 2.5.1*

I’ve had the Ninox Database since 2016. I paid £14.99 for the upgrade and built up quite an extensive database to catalogue a collection.

Since the last update, I have been logged out. Ninox does not recognise my log in details, not even my email address so I cannot request a new password. I’ve tried re-registering, then restoring purchases but that option is not working in the app. I’ve tried both on my iPhone and iPad and the results are the same. I’ve lost months of work and important data and Ninox have provided no assistance at all. If you’re planning on using this to create an extensive and important database I’d recommend researching the other apps available out there.

### 1/5 — Not free

*2018-07-25, version 2.3.4*

Apps that say they are free and suck you in to join are a disgrace.

### 1/5 — Était parfait...

*2018-02-06, version 2.3.4*

### 1/5 — Hard to learn

*2018-01-07*

I have been using FileMaker Pro for over 20 years, and after reading the review on Ninox and seeing so many people remark about how they like Ninox as much as FileMaker, I decided to try it. I have spent many hours trying to understand this database, and thus far it has been nothing but frustrating. Having said that, my negative rating of this app isn’t based so much on the capabilities of the app because I have no idea what it can do; my review is mostly based on how hard it is to make any sense of this app. I have read the so-called “Manual” and the very first thing it says is “The best way to learn about Ninox is by trying.” The rest of the “Manual” is as useless as that first line. Hot garbage. So now, my $1600 Apple computer is sitting here bored while I use my 9-year-old piece of crap hp laptop because that’s where my FileMaker Pro software is and learning Ninox doesn’t seem to be worth the effort.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-03-01, version 3.8.5*

### 5/5 — Ninox legacy what’s that all about?

*2022-12-27, version 3.7.14*

Tried Tapforms…came back to Ninox much more intuitive.

### 5/5 — Fully Functional App is a Big Improvement

*2021-10-25, version 3.5.4*

I used Ninox to create an order book database for our business. The latest App update brings the phone experience fully in-line with the excellent PC version, and is a major upgrade over the old App. I would now recommended Ninox to anyone looking for a bespoke database solution which works across multiple devices.

### 5/5 — Best in Class

*2021-10-09, version 3.5.0*

Ninox is a no code database development app that can also be accessed and developed using your laptop or desktop. There is no competition, I reviewed them all (literally) for use within my company and Ninox stands alone across all categories you would rate this type of app on. Must have. Great job to the Ninox team for creating something this innovative and user friendly.

### 5/5 — Amazing WOW!

*2020-05-26*

Easy to use, easy to deploy!! Was impressed with this apps ability!

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2020-05-15*

I’m haven’t left many reviews on the App Store, but this app is the Bento replacement I’ve been looking for but on steroids. Somethings are a bit advanced for me, but only if you need to dive into it.

### 5/5 — Best in Class

*2020-01-31, version 2.6.2*

Ninox is one of the best UI based database applications I've ever used. After a bit of orientation with the simplified code, it has become a complete replacement for what I tried to make a spreadsheet do.

The iOS building capability is incredible, ability to multitask on the iPad is invaluable. I would recommend this app to basic and advanced users alike. With its capability, price point and iCloud syncing, it is without competition

I look forward to even more functionality, and the opportunity to buy it again to support the developers

### 5/5 — Works

*2020-01-28*

Heavy user; projects, journals, etc. Used many other apps; each ended with updates that either reconstructed the app (to un-usefulness for me) and / or updated and lost my data (sometimes years of data.)

I have used Ninox for several years; and recently Ninox-ed my stuff from other apps. Why? Dependable. Never lost data. Many strong database features. No subscription unless team usage. Just works and is intuitive.

### 5/5 — Outstanding program

*2020-01-28, version 2.6.2*

Does anything you want it to do without much knowledge of programming. An outstanding program bringing databases in the cloud to everyone.
As coined by one of the trainers. If you know what you want to do Ninox knows how to do it. I can’t speak highly enough of this program.
