### 5/5 — Favorite keyboard of all time

*2026-07-15, version 1.999*

Ive had this keyboard from the beginning, im on an iphone 15 pro max and the app still works flawlessly. it makes having these kinda devices WORTH IT. It doesn’t have the best predictive type but it don’t matter out knows better than apples but even if out didnt the UI makes up for it, im using the slide features and its always on point at correcting my mistakes, (using it now and I haven’t had to delete or correct a word the way I do with apple.

I hope your reading this jormy, cuz we still love this app ❤❤ but wed love for it to get an update to add newer emoji n things. ( god I love the slide feature)🥰

### 5/5 — Best typing app

*2026-07-13, version 1.999*

I never write reviews. I’m hoping Jormy sees this. This is the best typing app ever. I’ve been using it ever since it came out and haven’t looked back. However, it’s been many years since an update and now the GUI is starting to break. Save me Jormy! You’re my only hope!

Update: 2024
Still here using nintype everyday. Not sure how many years it’s been since I first wrote my review. I hope Jormy sees this and we get a nice update. I’m holding out for you, Jormy!

Update: 2026
Still not updated. Keyboard is practically broken with iOS updates. It was the best keyboard when it came out. No other keyboard compares. At this point, I’ll have more success learning code and making my own app similar to this, than Jormy returning.

### 2/5 — Needs refinement

*2026-06-30, version 1.999*

Conceptually, it’s alright (dual swiping can be fast and cool). However, its prediction is relatively poor and the keyboard can be quite unstable (I.e., crashes from time to time). The UI has fairly dated graphics too… with no clear visibility of any planned updates, I’m won’t recommend getting this app.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy

*2026-02-23, version 1.999*

I can tell this used to be awesome. Now, there are issues. The big one being that half the time the keyboard pops up there’s nothing there. It hasn’t been updated in 6 years and needs to be reworked for the latest iOS. Should not still be available for purchase.

### 5/5 — Best 3rd party keyboard still to date

*2026-02-16, version 1.999*

A bit of a learning curve at first to understand how to use a double swipe keyboard, but I still been using this for years and it absolutely still stands out as the best keyboard ever.

Highly recommend giving it a try.

### 3/5 — Needs to be updated

*2025-11-29, version 1.999*

Can you not give this app or
Sell it to another developer. Someone that could
Take it over and update it. It needs it bad.

### 5/5 — I love this keyboard so much

*2025-11-27, version 1.999*

I’m begging the dev to modernize it a bit please..

### 4/5 — Should be the standard

*2025-10-12, version 1.999*

This might be an excellent keyboard, but the settings are likely the worst thing you've ever used on an iPhone.

It crashes a lot too. That's a shame because of course that makes it less attractive. This seems to be a relatively new issue.

The iPhone X and similar have a persistent button to change the keyboard, so the equivalent button on Nintype could be less prominent when running on those phones.

The keyboard styles could do with an update.

### 4/5 — only 4 stars

*2025-10-04, version 1.999*

Great keyboard that could use some modernization, come on dev...

### 5/5 — Please come back

*2025-05-29, version 1.999*

I just started using this keyboard again after upgrading to an iPhone 15 Pro and its been super stable and as long as it keeps working, I’ll never go back. It makes the stock keyboard feel so incredibly slow, its insane.

### 1.999 — 2019-03-11

Updated word chooser, Updated topbar
Fixed and improved retype & rewind functionality
Fixed cap switching from the topbar (it now reflects properly)
Big shortcuts on main menu (you can enable this by editing the main menu / spacebar hold menu)
Updated base dictionary - removed some useless/nonsense words, added missing common ones
(thanks for the donated dictionary data. I haven't added them to credits yet though)
free sticker icon

Sorry about the lack of update - more may come in 2020 at this rate. I've been in a limbo of sorts

### 1.99 — 2017-04-24

Major overhaul of the topbar.
Minor improvements to the options menu.
Minor improvements to quality of life features.

### 1.98 — 2016-09-30

Emojify is now renamed as "Expandify", now accessible from topbar options
(a lot more convenient to use, if I do say so myself)
Fixed the algorithm to improve autocorrect when peck-typing

-> If you press-hold the spacebar for 5 seconds, it will launch a "crasher" menu
this is not meant for you, it's meant for them Apple engineers.
This is for reproducing the iOS10 non-popup issues.

   -> To reproduce the non-popup:
      1. open nintype in some app (APP_A, e.g notes)
      2. open nintype in some other app (APP_B, e.g reminders)
      3. in nintype in APP_A, press_hold spacebar, lightly, for 5 seconds.
      4. in APP_A select "yes", which activates the crasher mode
      5. select "trigger_crash" which makes nintype restart
      6. switch to APP_B (go to home screen first), open nintype.
      7. select "trigger_crash" again, which will make nintype restart
do steps 4-7 repeatedly between APP_A and APP_B, and eventually
nintype will stop showing up. It won't show up until you restart nintype
by turning on/off open access from settings.app

-> If you manage to replicate it
please file a radar bug at bugreport.apple.com (or google "apple radar")
and file a radar bug! This is the only way we can get Apple to fix the
non-popup issue. Once you have done so, please send me the radar ID
(mail me at yose@jormy.com or tweet me at @jormy)

-> I would really appreciate any help in filing the above bug report.
I won't ask for too many more requests in the future, but please help with
this one. It's pretty much the bug that affects nintype the most, and unfortunately
nintype suffers more from this bug compared to other third party keyboards.

### 1.97 — 2016-09-19

Last iOS9 version, before iOS10 version comes out.
Since march, some work have been made in making nintype more user friendly.
Revamped options menu, improved themes editor menu.
Added some fancier eye candy options.
Plenty of bugfixes. Limited Russian and Hebrew support.

Nothing much has been done in terms of making the keyboard appear more.

For some reason the phantom disappearances still happen, even in iOS10.
It seems like it's caused by OpenGL. I'll see what I can do, but..
When iOS shows no keyboard whatsoever on an app, but at the same time
on another app nintype shows, whose fault is that? Not mine, right?
Please know that in iOS10, to fix popup issues you may have to flip open access
on/off twice - which restarts the keyboard proxies in all apps (it seems)

### 1.96 — 2016-03-02

Bugfix to the "words turning into symbols" bug. Apologies for that
Memory usage improvements (attempted, at least)
