This year is the first that gives me so much problems. Worst part is sometimes… it just works and nothing changed in my setup. Sometimes the device is online but most of the time it’s offline. Connects to router, connects to internet but doesn’t connect to web service. Changed my entire wifi setup that was working great except for that one device and it’s still the same. Have an outdoor AP with max strength signal right next to the heat pump and still doesn’t come online. All other devices including cheap indoor wifi plugs work great even further than the heat pump. Have a friend with same heat pump and totaly different router and wifi and has exact same problems. VERY frustrating for a 200$ wifi dongle… ### 2/5 — Needs more functionality *2025-05-03, version 2.9.4* The app needs a restart every time I run it. Now the the app says Nirvana Maintenance, and says it’s off line. I can’t get app to connect . I tried logging out and then logging in, still not working. Is the app in maintenance? Does anybody know? Easy entry mode like touch or face recognition would be good. The app should really mimic the functions on the heat pump control pan ( which is also very old fashioned). I believe the Heat Pymp is well made - it really deserves a better application. ### 1/5 — Très mauvais *2021-06-17, version 862234265* L’application a communiqué avec la thermopompe une dizaine de fois, par la suite la thermopompe ne prend pu les "commandes" qu’on lui envoie. N’affiche pas la bonne température, ne prend pas la température que l’on veut avoir. Les paramètres de base de la thermopompe ne sont même pas présentes dans l’application. Elle revient constamment à 85 F Une fois sur deux, l’application gèle et on doit fermer l’application pour y revenir Le fabricant ne démontre pas sa volonté d’investir dans cette application. J’aurais aimé mieux ne pas payé pour ça. Il n'y a même pas de lien dans l'application pour avoir de l'aide, pour communiquer avec la compagnie (un manque flagrant). Payé en extra pour pouvoir gérer la pompe est gênant d'offrir une application comme celle-ci. ### 3/5 — Fonctionne bien mais quelques petit bug *2019-08-19, version 862234265* Quelque problème d’affichage sur iPhone 8... début du mode de chauffage tronqué, ne retient plus le code d’usager et mot de passe même si « se souvenir de moi » est activé . Si non, l’application fait ce qu’il faut pour contrôler le chauffe piscine à distance et merci pour le mode de chauffage qui n’était pas présent dans la version précédente! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Too basic app for a low quality water heat pump *2026-05-18, version 2.9.9* The app is very basic, with poor UI design. You often need to reconnect. Closed API, so impossible to connect to Home Assistant (yes, in 2026!). And the hardware itself… Well, in 4 years, this spring will have been the first one I’m able to start it without having the Nirvana tech over to repair it! It was even not working on initial install! I would not buy again. ### 1/5 — Please, please update your app! *2025-07-04, version 2.9.9* It’s terribly dated. Doesn’t work reliably. I can’t set a time zone. I paid a lot for your heater. Device shows connected to internet. However, when MAC address is added to app it give a “try again later message” terrible instructions with device and online. Hasn’t happened yet. The current app is awful - doesn’t work most of the time, and when it does actually change the settings on the pump it sometimes takes two or three tries to do it. A terrible (not to say useless) app is the result. The login UI is from the 80’s, the dial to change temperature is difficult to use, buttons are hidden on certain devices. Once you modify the target temperature, 8 times out of 10, it doesn’t work. Sometimes, the target temperature is different on the pump than in the app. Of course, it doesn’t work with HomeKit, Alexa, even Homebridge… Basically, this is junk and as a consequence, it not only make the overpriced wifi unit I had to purchase useless but my ruined my global experience with your pool heater and the credibility of your company. ### 1/5 — Teribad *2021-09-04, version 862234265* If only i could link to alexa to ask pool temp Everything else is beyond useless in the current state ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Fonctionne très bien *2023-09-18, version 2.9.4* Je possède un chauffe piscine Nirvana depuis quelques années maintenant, en fait c’est mon deuxième. J’avais considéré y ajouter le module Wi-Fi depuis quelque temps mais les commentaires des usagers n’étaient pas favorables. Dernièrement j’ai remarqué que des modifications avaient été apportées au module et à sa programmation, j’ai donc décidé de finalement faire l’acquisition du module. Je n’ai aucun regrets, tout fonctionne très bien. La programmation et mise en marche furent effectués sans problèmes, j’adore le fait d’être en mesure de commander le chauffage de ma piscine à distance sans avoir à me rendre à la thermopompe. La couverture Wi-Fi de mon routeur est adéquate pour assurer une connection sans failles à une distance d’environs 50 à 60 pieds. La seule suggestion que j’aimerais apporter serait d’être en mesure de retrouver toutes les paramètres de fonctionnement de la thermopompe sur l’application. J’aimerais bien pouvoir programmer la température ambiante minimum de fontionnement dans l’application mais elle n’est pas disponible. J’imagine qu’il s’agit simplement d’un ajout qui pourrait être apporté lors des prochaines mises à jours de l’application. Difficult to connect when first upgraded but very good support from Matthieu, director of R&D who helped remotely.I had to find the MAC address and my heater is in Florida and I live in the UK but I got it from spectrum devices list (Wi-Fi provider) Does disconnect a little randomly and the Wi-Fi chip is sometimes the issue or software updates, but the app itself is very useful ### 5/5 — Améliorations remarquables *2023-06-02, version 2.9.4* Bravo à l’équipe de développement. Control on/off, temperature, timer settings, Pool or Spa, fan speed, English or French, °F or °C. Works on my iPhone 13 and my iPad 12 (full screen). I have the app controlling our brand new 140k btu Nirvana HP. After years with a Hayward which had no wifi capabilities, this is a game changer for us. We now get to control the temperature from anywhere. The wifi setup on the thermopump was relatively easy to setup. No big difference than setting up a smart plug or other IOT device. The wireless card (optional) is easy to install in the thermopump controller. Just watch the YouTube video. The wifi signal is fairly good considering my wireless Bell Gig WiFi router is in our basement and the pump is about 60 feet away in the yard. We had one issue the third day of use. Emailed tech support and they upgraded the cloud engine. Up and running in two days. Great customer support! If you are looking to buy a new pool thermopump and would like the convenience of remote control, this app along with their thermopump really perform well! Plus, for 140k btu HP, it is fairly quite in full speed mode! Neighborhood will appreciate it. No more rattles or buzzing from the pump.
