## What is Nishikigoi Pond?

A small pond, in the palm of your hand.

Tap to scatter feed, and your koi rise from the deep water,
trailing ripples as they come.

■ A pattern no other koi will ever wear
Every koi's markings are generated, one fish at a time.
Kohaku, Sanke, Showa, Tancho, Ginrin —
the same pattern is never born twice.

■ Raise them
A young koi's colors are still pale.
Day by day the hi (red) rises, the kiwa (edges) sharpen,
and the sumi (black) surfaces only later.
What this one becomes, you won't know until it grows.

■ Breed them
Choose two koi and cross them, and a fry is born
carrying its parents' patterns.
A jumbo bloodline, a Tancho bloodline —
build your own lineage in pursuit of the perfect koi.

■ Phantom koi
Once in a great while, a koi is born that no field guide holds —
a "phantom." Sakura-fubuki, Hoshifuri, Hisui, Suminagashi, Raimon.
One of a kind, for your pond alone.

■ The show
Enter your finest koi in the show.
Balance of the hi, sharpness of the kiwa, quality of the sumi, the body.
The judges score in earnest.

Feed three times a day, keep up your daily care,
and watch a pond of your own slowly take shape.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-18

New blood has entered the pond.

Kujaku, Kin Matsuba, Hi Utsuri, Kumonryu. Four varieties join the field guide: the fine net that surfaces over golden scales, the black body whose hi carries no white. Forms that were once lumped together now carry names of their own.

And three more phantoms: Akanesasu, Soka, Sazanami. New lore waits at the back of the guide.

The field guide now holds twenty-seven.

Also fixed: the sumi markings that were missing from some sample cards in the field guide.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-22

The phantom koi have evolved.

Compatible Blood: decode the lore in the Field Guide to call phantoms from two bloodlines
Phantom origins shown: inherited, mutation, or called by the blood
Field Guide renewed: sample patterns for every variety from the start, with a seal stamped on registration
Koi Market: "Not in your Field Guide" tag on named bloodlines; every variety can now appear

### 1.1 — 2026-07-12

・New "Today's care" panel up top — see the day's tasks (feeding, breeding, shows, rehoming) at a glance, and earn bonus koban for completing them all.
・Growth is clearer now: a "Grew a full day" moment after feeding, plus how many days until a koi is full grown. Growth bars added to the koi list too.
・Adjust the screen brightness (tap the sun button, tune it while watching the pond).
・The app is now available in English.
・Fixed a koi-show scoring issue and tuned the growth pacing.
