### 4/5 — Good app

*2026-07-11, version 8.0.9*

I love the app, but wish I could set max charging % on it or on my Leaf. Instead I have to guess and set up a clock timer on leaf to charge for certain amount of time

### 2/5 — Clunky, Glitchy, Subpar

*2026-04-26, version 8.0.9*

This app has never worked well or really had that much functionality. Recently it glitched and got stuck so that it won’t refresh to show the actual status of the car. After much time with tech support, they say we have to bring it into the dealer to get it reset. Which is not really how apps work. Overall, it’s more of a detriment than an asset to our experience owning a Leaf. I hope Nissan invests in upgrading soon.

### 2/5 — Nissan not winning me over

*2026-03-01, version 8.0.6*

I like that there is an app to monitor the battery status in the vehicle remotely, that I can set the climate control on a timer for comfort before I drive which also supports fuel conservation compared to heating/cooling it while I am in the vehicle, and I can start charging remotely if the car is plugged in and stopped charging for some reason.
But I do not like that there is no way to stop charging if it’s near 80%, there’s no way to change or even review the charging timer settings from the app (actually have to be unplugged and the accessory power has to be on), and there is no way to set a charging timer based on battery percentage. The lack of control over battery and timer settings take the app way down for me and luxuries like a valet setting do not make up for basic functionality.

### 1/5 — No star….Does not work anymore

*2026-01-19, version 8.0.4*

i am unable to run this app anymore. I am getting a message stating that I need to use the latest version of this app (“in order to continue using this app you must update to the latest version”). The latest version requires IOS 17.6 or later. I cannot update to IOS 17.6 or later. My iPhone (iPhone 8) is up-to-date at IOS 16.7.12. Kudos to the Nissan app development team for not taking care of its users! Shame on you!

### 3/5 — App loses your login now

*2026-01-16, version 8.0.6*

Edit: they fixed the huge problem with the app forgetting your login every time! Still a mediocre app with no Siri integration but at least it’s functional now.

Original review Jan 12, 2026:
The app became garbage about a month ago when it completely lost the ability to remember your login. If you haven’t launched the app within the last hour, it logs you out and you have to enter your name and password every time you open the app. Extremely annoying.

### 1/5 — Bad app getting worse

*2026-01-15, version 8.0.6*

This was not a great app but at least it sometimes worked. I don’t know what changed but within the last couple months the app is incapable of staying logged in, forcing me to enter my password every time I open the app. This is extremely frustrating because “unnecessarily slow animations” is already a key design principle of the app, so to add an another manual step between me and the one button I want to press just adds insult to swoopy slowmoving injury.

### 1/5 — Unusable junk

*2026-01-15, version 8.0.4*

Requires an update to the app when the app doesn’t do anything, and new versions of the Leaf are already added to the standard Nissan app. Why do you want me to update when you never add new features?

### 1/5 — Will not setup account

*2026-01-13, version 8.0.6*

The app does not setup the account after I type all the info including the VIN.

### 1/5 — Keeps logging me out

*2026-01-12, version 8.0.6*

It used to keep my logged into my account, but recently even when I click “keep me logged in “ and “ remember me” it logs me out every time I leave the app.

### 1/5 — Log in issues

*2026-01-12, version 8.0.6*

This used to work OK, bit now it forces me to log in every time I open it. That's fine for my banking app, but it's absurd for a car app.

### 3/5 — Tells me to update

*2026-01-12, version 8.0.6*

I have the latest update of the app but when I try to sign in a pop up appears and tells me to update endlessly

### 2/5 — lousy app, barely usable

*2026-01-10, version 8.0.6*

Well the app has been barely useful since I got the car 2 years ago. The only saving grace was the ability to start the ac before leaving the house when it’s hot or freezing outside. Now the app just says update required and refuses to run, even with the latest update installed. Between battery issues, the current inability to fast charge, broken door handles and that damn front axle click I gotta say I’m not surprised Nissan is heading for bankruptcy. I like my 2018 SV, but I wont be buying anything else from Nissan.

### 1/5 — Latest update is preventing log-in

*2026-01-10, version 8.0.6*

Latest update forces a sign off and after you try to log in again you get a dialogue box linking you to the App Store to update the app; the problem is the app is already updated causing a perpetual loop where it is impossible to log in. App is currently useless on 16 pro max.

### 3/5 — Have to log in every time

*2026-01-06, version 8.0.4*

The app is making me log in every time I use it, even though I turn on the “keep me logged in” switch. I’ve had a Leaf for years and never had this problem until fairly recently. Any ideas? It’s very annoying.

### 3/5 — Won’t Stay Logged

*2026-01-04, version 8.0.4*

I used to be able to set the “stay logged in“ switch and not have to login every time I start the app. However, now the app is forcing me to login each and every time I open the app regardless of setting the switch. This is a real nuisance.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t stay logged in

*2026-01-03, version 8.0.4*

With the latest update, you have to log in every time you use the app. Even with “stay logged in” enabled. Seems like an easy glitch to fix, but it’s been like this for weeks.

### 3/5 — The remote service is barely functional

*2026-01-01, version 8.0.4*

The app is about as basic as basic can get. The app functions but it feels like it was kinda of an after thought. You can only control basic functions of the car. It would be nice if you could set all the scheduling for the car instead of sitting in the car to set them but you cannot. Also have run into an issue where the app will not auto login anymore which is very annoying.

### 1/5 — Nissan is shutting down the old leafs

*2025-12-31, version 8.0.4*

App worked for years, but now has to login every single time. They are trying to forget last gen owners

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t Stay Logged In

*2026-07-14, version 8.0.9*

It keeps logging me out after a few hours. Then it makes me re-enter my VIN and create a new account.

### 1/5 — Won’t open anymore

*2026-06-28, version 8.0.9*

Nissan, I purchased a 2019 LEAF. Your app tells me to update and it won’t. Support your product.

### 1/5 — App problems

*2026-04-23, version 8.0.9*

I’m using the app in Vancouver canada the app super lag & slow.

### 1/5 — Problematic

*2026-04-16, version 8.0.9*

The app is very problematic and doesn’t work well. It’s incredibly frustrating and disappointing

### 1/5 — This app sucks

*2026-04-08, version 8.0.9*

I just acquired this 2016 Nissan Rogue from my grandparents. I use T-Mobile as my phone carrier.

First the app kept throwing an error when trying to create an EV acct so it took me 20 minutes to even get to the registration page. Then I get a pop saying that AT&T no longer supports 2G or 3G through this app. I don’t have AT&T, nor do I have 2G or 3G. I have 5G. I could give this app negative no stars, I would. Not a good experience for a first time customer.

### 1/5 — App is slow to update

*2026-03-09, version 8.0.6*

This app is still not updated to work with iOS 26 even though iOS26 has been out of beta mode for months.

I’ve lost 5 months of use of my subscription.

### 1/5 — Zero Stars

*2026-02-22, version 8.0.6*

This app deserves Zero stars. Premium subscription is active but the app doesnt work!

### 1/5 — NISSAN LEAF 2024

*2026-02-17, version 8.0.6*

I can’t believe this app is not compatible with ALL Nissan electric cars!!! I bought a used Nissan Leaf 2024 from a NISSAN dealer and was told by your customer service line that I cannot use this app when I tried to sign up with my VIN number. Despite liking my car, NISSAN’s service has been awful! Dealership I bought from has basically washed their hands of me after I wrote the check.

### 1/5 — APP DOESN’T WORK

*2026-02-08, version 8.0.6*

PLEASE WORK ON THIS APP BECAUSE IT DOESN’T WORK ANYMORE!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Embarrassing

*2026-01-24, version 8.0.6*

They clearly spend no effort on this app. The option to “keep me logged in” on the login screen - that’s just for show. It doesn’t do anything. Always unset when I start the app (and have to login each time) The fact that they can’t even save a setting tells you how little effort they put into this thing. But hey, at least if I really wanted to find out the current charge of my car, I can suffer my way through it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It works

*2026-07-01, version 8.0.9*

It works most of the time, not so much on my Apple Watch. I would like to have the option to stop it from charging, it can start but not Stop.

### 5/5 — Star rating

*2025-12-29, version 8.0.4*

Fantastic. It’s great!!!

### 5/5 — Easy

*2024-06-13, version 7.8.4*

Easy to use

### 5/5 — So convenient

*2024-03-05, version 7.7.5*

My first connected car. Remote charging level is sweet. Door lock and locator are quite handy. Would like more buttons on home page. Locator is a little clunky. Remembers last weeks location for a long time.

### 5/5 — Satellite communications

*2023-04-10*

Looking through the reviews, I feel people are forgetting that Nissan Connect utilizes satellites to communicate. It also doesn’t pay for wide bandwidth, which would drive the cost up exponentially. I can forgive that. When in the ideal situation with five band 5G UC service and vehicle exposed to a clear sky, it is awesome. I am extremely pleased, especially now that they restored HVAC scheduling.

### 5/5 — I’ve had to Leaf 2012 this is the best this app has ever worked!

*2022-12-26, version 7.5.3*

since latest update it works the way it should. Thank you developers.🤘🤘🤘🤘

### 5/5 — Best for your budget

*2022-09-12, version 7.4.4*

Great app to know about charging level and climate control and to lock car too

### 5/5 — So far very good

*2022-08-04, version 7.3.7*

Just started today. Seams straight forward so far. Will report more later as we use the app.

### 5/5 — Good car with the charger take my wife around town

*2022-03-07, version 7.3.4*

I am very pleased so far. My wife is not a person to drive long distance with her car, yet we purchased the adverted cord for the car and I hope I never have to charge at a Tesler station. I like the car rides smooth as silk and it is just what we needed. The Leaf is good for us. Thanks

### 4/5 — Works

*2026-08-15, version 9.0.4*

It works but sometimes it’s hard to tell if it’s working or a little laggy. I’m still in the trial so not bothered by it. Could be better for sure though.
