### 2/5 — Inconsistent capitalist tool

*2022-12-02, version 6.0.0*

A fickle app that works whenever it feels like it, regardless of updates. The colder it is, the more likely that it will fail to remotely start your vehicle. An option that use to be programmed into your key, not a phone app, when it was built into your vehicle as an option and you paid for it ONE time (when you purchased your vehicle). But when you have corporations that care more about making money from subscriptions than one-time payments, then here we are.

### 2/5 — I wish it worked

*2022-11-22, version 6.0.0*

It is so strange. Sometime it works, starts the car, locks the doors, everything. Then, randomly for no reason I can divine, it just stops working. It wont find the car, wont register anything it’ll just so vehicle unavailable. Sometimes when that happens, it’ll still lock or unlock the doors, sometimes it wont. Sometimes rebooting the app will help, sometimes it wont.

The watch app is completely worthless. They shouldn’t even have bothered. It only works if you log into the app on the phone first, so if you want to use the watch app, you have to log in with the phone, then you can use the watch. I know your thinking, “but once you’ve done that your good!” Nope, you have to do it each time. So watch app you can remove from the watch anytime you like, it’ll never work.

Sadly, this is just another one of those apps that Nissan put together on the quick and didn’t bother to beta test much.

If you like it, use it, but it’ll never be much good. When it works, great, but it will fail to work about as often as it does work.

### 4/5 — Additional features

*2022-10-19, version 5.5.0*

Was just wondering if there are any plans to add the ability to remotely activate features such as heated seats/steering wheel, cooled seats, defrosters, etc. I traded a Hyundai Tucson in on a 2023 Pathfinder, The Hyundai app had multiple preset options to customize what features turned on along with the engine when remotely starting. I had a winter preset that turned on front and rear defroster settings, heated steering wheel, and both front heated seats, and it was nice and cozy and ready to go in a few minutes. In summer I could turn air on coldest setting along with cooled seats. Anyways I love my pathfinder but I do miss a few remote start abilities that Hyundai had in their app…

### 3/5 — Difficulty connecting

*2022-09-05, version 5.5.0*

I love the app. I just wish it would connect a little faster. I think I need to get with customer service because sometimes I’ll open up the app to start my car and it won’t connect. Sometimes it connects and it doesn’t start the car. It’s like the message to start gets lost. Either way, it’s really slow connecting if it does work. Hopefully I can get it fixed because it’s really nice in cold weather to start it remotely.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2022-05-19, version 5.4.6*

The app is cool. There’s a few problems that should be fixed especially for paying Customers such as myself. Oil and tire warning is always saying low and to schedule a appointment to Nissan. My car is brand new and even after going to Nissan, those warnings don’t go away. Don’t forget, the odometer do not update. I have to physically get in the car to get my mileage when on the phone taking care of things for the car and I’m asked for the mileage. Also the app should make Nissan users feel like we’re driving something special vs the competitors. Add some type of animations to the app. Not sure how long I will continue to pay for service. We don’t receive many updates if any.

### 3/5 — Ok for the most part, BUT

*2022-05-13, version 5.4.6*

The tire pressures, fuel, and odometer do not update. Tried updating while driving my 2021 Titan Pro4X truck and after parking it. This makes me wonder whether the other features are updating correctly every time. I just tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. No difference. The app also keeps telling me I have an oil light on which isn’t.
I have to agree with other people who say that for the price of the vehicle and paying for the service, it’s quite disappointing. As far as I know, the other features work. I haven’t tried any of the boundary features or uploading destinations with multiple locations. Only tried it once and it worked great.

### 3/5 — Keeps logging me out after every use

*2022-05-06, version 5.4.5*

The app is great. Very similar to all the SeriousXM apps like uconnect. Only gripe is it keeps signing me out saying “session has expired” everytime I open the app. Even after clicking the “keep me logged in” button. Also Face ID does not work to log me back in. It just pops up on the screen saying “session has expired” so I have to type my password everytime I want to start my car. Please fix this issue as it’s honestly really annoying.

### 2/5 — App doesn’t seem to work when I need it the most

*2022-02-25, version 5.4.4*

I would’ve rated the app higher if it worked when I needed it. It seems to not work when it’s the worst weather out or when I really need the the app to start my vehicle. I don’t know if the app is overwhelmed with users or what but I don’t think I’m gonna want to pay for the service when it doesn’t work. Disappointed with the percentage of the time the app actually works. It also seems that if you give a poor review it won’t except it giving you a difficult time entering a nickname.

### 2/5 — Disappointing , but trying to be hopeful.

*2022-02-18, version 5.4.4*

I was hoping this app/feature would work for my 2021 Nissan Rogue, however the app rarely works. The times it actually works it is nice.
Often the app will not lock the car or the remote start won’t work. Also the location of my car is often about 4 hours behind even if I refresh the app. Which I think could be why the locking and remote start will not work as the app thinks the car is further away than it really is.
I hope with updates to the app, the benefits of having it will become useless

### 2/5 — Needs Lots of Work

*2022-02-16, version 5.4.3*

The app struggles to connect most of the time even when being less than 20ft from the vehicle.

Not all information loads when updating and sometimes it won’t update at all. Tire pressure readings seems to always struggle.

***NISSAN PLEASE READ THIS*** - Why isn’t the vehicle displayed at the top of the app the actual model of vehicle the user owns?! Color included. This seems like the easiest and most impactful fix to the whole app! This is what would help connect the user to your app on a more personalized level, otherwise you feel like the app isn’t even intended for the vehicle you are trying to control via the technology.

### 4/5 — A small inconvenience

*2022-01-26, version 5.4.2*

The app is great! The only issue I have is when I try to open the app to remote start my car , it literally have to open and close the app about 10 times before it opens for me. The loading symbol just keeps loading and I have to close it out and open it again. It eventually comes up but not convenient at all when I’m in a rush or hope to warm my car up before I get in. That’s my one complaint.

### 3/5 — Logging in issues

*2022-01-05, version 5.4.2*

When it works, the app is great. It logs me out on its own, even tho I select “keep me logged in”. Then when I try to log back in with Face ID or password, it just spins forever and doesn’t log me in. Takes me days to get back in. When I start the car thru the app, takes about a minute for it to actually start. 1/3 of the time it doesn’t work on the first try. So I have to start it again or go start with my key.

### 2/5 — 2 stars

*2021-11-24, version 5.4.1*

You wonder why well the appt works great for me, it remote starts the car , locks and unlock but that is it and also the lights but other then that you can do all those things with your key fob and well also you can track your truck and maintenance reminders but not really useful on my end, right now with the cold weather I want to be able to remote start my truck have my seat heated and my steering wheel or have some type of control over the A/C. But none whatsoever, so not worth paying for something I can do with my key fob.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Sigh

*2023-02-07, version 6.0.0*

Was great at the start. Then it wouldn’t open. Then it would open but wouldn’t start the car. Then it was great again. Now it’s not showing vehicle status and won’t update when you swipe down so it won’t start my car. Those are the only reasons I had the app. Probably giving it till the end of my payment period and canceling. Customer service is trash. I was hung up on 3 times because they couldn’t figure out what the problem was. Got the hang on for a second and then click sound. 3 times. That’s not ok. If you don’t know the answer just tell me that. But be rude to me after I sat on hold for 30 minutes. No thanks Nissan.

### 1/5 — Nissan Connect Services Made it Worse

*2023-02-05, version 6.0.0*

One vehicle status and health report was not showing up after 30 days, I called NissanConnect Services for assistance. They told me it would probably take another 30 days for it to show up and did some tweaking. Now my app no longer shows a vehicle status report with tire pressure and the other features. I have uninstalled it, and and it still does not work honestly, I really don’t know what to do. I’m really disappointed with the service. I never had problems like this with OnStar on my General Motors vehicles.

### 1/5 — Vehicle status no longer available

*2023-01-30, version 6.0.0*

So for whatever reason, some genius at Nissan’s development team decided to remove the vehicle status option from the app. Before you could have viewed your tire pressure, odometer reading, fuel level etc, now you can’t. The app is basically useless because all you can do is lock/unlock the doors and remote start the vehicle, of course only if you paid for that option. Note that this was done with no warning or heads up from Nissan. I’m paying for their premium service package and that makes no sense now because the app is about as useful as my key fob. I’ll be downgrading my package and saving that extra $20/month.

### 1/5 — Not ready for Prime Time

*2022-10-03, version 5.5.0*

I bought my second consecutive Armada in September 20. The first I drove for 16 year and 240k miles. Needless to say I really like the Armada. Reliable rugged luxury.

I didn’t buy my car for NissanConnect. But I have many smart appliances and considered it a nice add on.

After 2 years of use I must say, the NissanConnect service is awful. I had no need for most of the services provided (speed alert, location, curfew, etc). You could have all theses “services” plus more without paying $13/month with a $25 apple air tag!

But every time I really needed to use it, every time it mattered, it did not work. I’m glad I never needed it in an emergency.

I paid for the premium service for 2 years, but no more. In fact when I used the in car connect service this morning to cancel, the first 3 representatives (none of which could actually speak English) I got to after navigating the worthless automated answering menu disconnected. They should call it Nissan disconnect.

When I finally got to the 4th representative, I quickly told him to cancel my service before we were “disconnected “ again.

Nissan should pull this service back, or give it away for free until they work the bugs out. The cars are great, NissanConnect…not ready for prime time.

### 1/5 — Pain

*2022-09-03, version 5.5.0*

This app doesn’t work the way that it should . At least it doesn’t for me. It’s like if you don’t use the app on a daily, it’ll start acting up.
Tried to start my vehicle etc and it just won’t do anything but tell me there’s a problem starting it, can’t locate the vehicle.

I just don’t get it. Then when I get around the vehicle and drive it, it seems to reset the app and I’ll be able to use it again. But two days of not using it and the app just malfunction all over again.
There’s no update. It’s at the latest installment and it still a pain.

### 1/5 — Nonstop issues for the last few months

*2022-03-27, version 5.4.4*

You’d think since you have to pay for this service, it would work. Too many times to count since the beginning of the year, the app either doesn’t load, signs you out & then can’t sign back in, won’t start the car with an error messages of possible reason but not the specific reason, takes forever to load & is just super inconvenient. I “thought” buying a brand new a car with the feature was a major plus, however, with it working whenever it feels like it, is not. I would have bought an after market remote starter for way less $ and much less issues like my husband did for his Toyota had I known it would be like this.

### 1/5 — Nice features but horrible load time

*2022-01-07, version 5.4.2*

Recently purchased a Nissan Rogue which comes with the NissanConnect services. Downloaded the app and set everything up. The features within the app are nice and I like them all. The reason I gave it a 1 star rating is the horrible implementation. It takes the app forever to load/login even if I’m at home on a very strong wifi network. Having to wait 1-2 minutes for the app to load to gain access to the features really ruins it all.

Have to say if Nissan doesn’t fix this issue with the app I definitely won’t be paying for NissanConnect after my trial period ends.

### 1/5 — Now useless for anything older than 2018

*2021-11-28, version 5.4.1*

Nissan was already behind other manufacturers by only offering Nissan connect on upper tier trims while others offer it for all vehicles, now Nissan is one of the few manufacturers that are willing to screw over their customers by not offering a continuity plan when 3G gets shut down. So much for customer service. Why make sure you get to use a feature you expect from a platinum trim when instead they could ignore you and push you toward a new model right? Even if you don’t offer it for free at least give us the option and give techs the very simple instructions to supply older vehicles with a 4G TCU and tack on a discount if you’d like to at least appear caring for a nanosecond.

### 1/5 — No remote start

*2021-08-05, version 5.3.3*

Just lock and unlock are enabled. App used to have a remote start on application. Not worth a subscription if that’s a requirement for the Nissan connect app service provides. Why would we pay for someone to google stuff for us? Also the maintenance features are totally off. Nissan makes great mechanically engineered vehicles but their software and the software services with them are poorly designed. If their software engineers and release software was as good as their mechanical engineering i would be much happier. The audio from iPhone doesn’t always go to main speakers in car sometimes it goes to the iPhone speaker instead. I tried multiple Apple certified cables and iOS is up to date. Other than their software issues Nissan’s dollar per feature and quality value is highest in the world for vehicles and I hope they get better software engineers.

### 1/5 — Unable to Connect to the Server at this time.

*2021-03-14, version 5.3*

It worked great in January when I got the vehicle. I used it OFTEN to check the status of the door locks and to check tire pressure. But yesterday I was going to show off the app to my daughter, and it wouldn’t update! “Unable to connect to the server at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.” So I waited and tried again a couple of times. It finally gave me the status of the door locks, odometer and how many miles I had left of the tank of gas, but it was unable to update tire pressure. Today I’ve been trying again, and at one time I was able to lock the doors, but the app wouldn’t update to the new status. I’m soooooo disappointed! I was ready, willing and able to subscribe to continued services (though I feel they should be included free with the purchase of the vehicle). Not now. If it won’t work every time I try to access the info, I’m not paying for it! Great idea, but the reliability isn’t there. I HOPE the app is being worked on and that it will become reliable once again! Come on developers.....we are counting on you!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Saved me

*2022-12-06, version 6.0.0*

I am horrible with keeping my keys in my purse and inside the car as it’s in the garage. My husband is very big on ensuring all cars are locked at night. He locked the doors the night before, and I went to get into my car the next morning and I was locked out of my car not knowing about this app. 7 months pregnant knowing I had to get to work I googled and boom the app came up. I literally use it daily now!

### 5/5 — First Time

*2022-09-08, version 5.5.0*

This is my first time using Nissan Connect. I’m loving it. There’s so much I can do right from the app. For example, starting up my car. checking to make sure the doors are locked. It also alerts you when you need to schedule maintenance for your car. I could go on but there’s so much more that you can do.

### 5/5 — Nissan app

*2022-07-20, version 5.4.8*

Wow simply amazing love it ! Never had a vehicle that you can operate with an app ! The simple fact of being able to lick and unlock your vehicle and not have to go outside says it all to me and starting your rogue without have to go out in the elements is five stars to me thank you for these convenience’s Nissan glad I purchased my rogue sv very satisfied customer

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2022-06-23, version 5.4.6*

I was hesitant to download the app after I read all the negative reviews but to be honest it has been working fine the remote start on the app takes a few seconds but nothing to be mad about my remote start on my key fob gives me more headaches than the app and 12 dlls a month for premium is not bad (2021 Nissan Sentra) I spend more money on nothing so the price for me is amazing download it yourself and try it out!!

### 5/5 — Love the Rogue

*2022-06-14, version 5.4.6*

I really love the Rogues. This is my second Rogue. They are great on gas. The car dealership was good to except for one thing . I was very upset because the first Rogue everything was set up for the bi weekly payments a month . I really liked it. They also emailed me a payment schedule for each date the automatic payments
would be taken out. I haven’t received that yet . This time it was not like they said it would be. That is my only complaint. But They did supposedly set it up now!!

### 5/5 — NissanConnect Service

*2022-04-03, version 5.4.4*

Everything about this app is awesome it’s good to double check yourself to make sure your doors are locked also warm your car before leaving out I have no complaints I advise everyone that has a Nissan try it and another thing you can track your vehicle and set a speed warning especially if you let someone use your vehicle it’s awesome!!!

### 5/5 — Spinning wheel of death, very slow

*2022-01-18, version 5.4.2*

This app is so sluggish. I have to force close and re-open the app at least three times to get it to work. Then it just sits with the spinning wheel of death for a few more seconds, and then it will finally load my car and status. I have never worked with such a slow app before to remote start a car! Sometimes the App will open but the car status will not load.

### 5/5 — Poor App

*2021-12-24, version 5.4.2*

I am using this with a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder and to be honest, it works maybe one out of every time and it is frustrating, and because of that what is the point of paying for a service of convince when the app does not do what it must. Telling me to make sure all vehicle doors are closed or just could not connect smh….

### 5/5 — Engine on- no ignition

*2021-08-22, version 5.4*

Need to fix app to know the difference between the engine being on and when it’s on and running. To turn the engine to the on position and then off, the app indicates engine trouble and to seek service. This is a false read.
Update the app to allow for windows to be open or closed remotely. Otherwise, nice app. I’ll keep my premium sub.

Thanks.
Matt B

### 5/5 — Update is fantastic

*2021-08-19, version 5.4*

Prior to the update, the remote start feature didn’t work without first unlocking the doors, then locking them again, even if the doors were locked initially. It didn’t even work if I locked through the app and the attempted to remote start. It had to be those 3 steps. This update fixed that! It finally does what it’s supposed to do! I have a 2021 Nissan Rogue
