## What is Nitefall?

Nitefall is a sleep sounds app designed for the dark. Put the phone down, choose a soundscape, and let it gently fade you out: no account, no ads, no tracking, and no subscription.

Calm, not busy.

A dark design that stays easy on your eyes at 2am.
One "Tonight" button that starts your night in a single tap.
Soundscapes that fade smoothly to silence on a timer you control.
Yours, quietly.

Everything stays on your device: your nights, your streaks, your unlocked themes.
No account. No analytics. No tracking. No network code at all. Nitefall keeps no ledger on you.
No subscription. No ads. Ever.
Earn calm by using it.

Every night you fall asleep with Nitefall, it quietly notices and unlocks new themes. No points, no pressure, no leaderboards.
In the morning, one calm question: how did you wake?
This is an app you run once at night and forget until morning. Just sleep.

### 5/5 — Perfect - canceled other apps

*2026-11-03*

I’ve tried over the years many apps with relaxing sounds and background noise for both tinnitus and help falling asleep.

The problem I always ran into was unneeded subscriptions, pay walls and more. I love that you get to try this see it works and use an easy 2$ for lifetime access.

Not mentioned here as well that I discovered was a mini sleep log as well.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-11-03

Nitefall is free to download now. Try it for two days, then unlock it once for $1.99 and it is yours for good. No subscription, no account, nothing to cancel.

If you already had Nitefall, nothing changes for you. The whole app stays unlocked, including the nights log.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-10-30

Pink noise was far too loud. It played about twenty times louder than the other sounds, which made it crackle instead of soothe. It now sits level with white and brown noise, so it sounds like soft static rather than distortion.

If Nitefall has helped you sleep, you can now leave a rating from the home screen. It waits until you have saved a morning check-in or unlocked a mood, it never interrupts a night, and if you would rather not, it stops asking.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-29

Nights now log fully. Opening the app while a sound is playing used to end the night at that minute, so an eight hour night could read as one minute. It now counts the whole night.

Check-ins keep every night. Answering the morning question without playing a sound now saves a new night instead of replacing the last one, so your history grows.

The sleep timer is easier. One row shows the length you picked and opens the full list, with All night, 30 min and 1 hour a tap away.

Every sound has its own picture, and the player takes on the picture of the sound you choose.

Unlockable moods are clear now. Each one shows what it needs and lights up when it arrives.

### 1.0 — 2026-10-27
