### 3/5 — Great app, despite bugs

*2025-11-02*

Has been one of my favorite apps for a while now. Hopefully they fix the bugs for iPhone 16 and up, not able to reorder and add clips to new sequences without the delete icon popping up. I am bummed because on my old iPhone 14 it had better quality exports. Now on the 16 it renders low resolution when zooming in. It’s not 4K. Also usually when you drag a clip to a new sequence, it’ll shift over to the sequence you want the clip to be a part of, but that doesn’t work with newer iPhones.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your kind words – it means a lot that Nizo has been one of your favourites.

Thank you for letting us know about these issues. We recently updated the rendering engine, along with haptic feedback and gestures.

If you’re still seeing low resolution exports, or gesture issues when moving clips (or anything else we need to improve), please reach out to me directly at jason@nizo.co We’d love to look at your specific case and ensure you’re getting the best out of Nizo.

Thanks again, and appreciate you taking the time to write.

### 3/5 — App Freezes when recording

*2021-06-20, version 1.0.14*

Other than that app is great

### 3/5 — Easy to use, beautiful filter

*2021-02-26, version 1.0.14*

I love the simplicity of Nizo, minimalist interface, beautiful filter. I wish the filter can he applied in post but other than that I enjoy it.

### 4/5 — Great app. Need some improvements

*2020-10-22, version 1.0.13*

1. Please make REC button sound mute than iPhone in vibro mode
2. Switching between zoom lenses 0.5x1x2 take about a second or two! Need to be faster.
3. Any chance to apply colour filter to video after filmed?
4. Add flip to front camera?
Overall great idea, need app for fast vlogging. If you can improve that - 5stars! Thanks.

### 3/5 — Some problems

*2020-06-25, version 1.0.10*

Overall I have enjoyed the app I like the filters I like the design of the interface. I have some issues with the frame rates. It would be nice to have at 1080p 60 frames per second because the iPhone X I’m using is capable of that but only in the default camera app or other apps. My goal is to shoot 60 frames per second for a project that I have. So I opted for the 4K at 60 frames per second setting in the app. But the playback on those clips that I recorded are in slow motion. Maybe they can be sped up in post but I still want to use the app to do the editing as the functionality for quick editing is pretty enjoyable.

### 4/5 — Easy to use

*2020-06-17*

Really good app.

I’ve used others, but they’re really basic and buggy.

Then you get Nizo!

I’m no professional videographer, but this app is easy to use and it’s features are really sexy. Looking forward to creating memories through this lens.

### 3/5 — Won’t let me add music

*2020-04-07, version 1.0.9*

It says it won’t let me add any type of music with Apple Music. It is quite frustrating Becuase I enjoy this app but I can’t use any footage Becuase I’m unable to add any sounds.

### 5/5 — Compact Creativity

*2020-03-10, version 1.0.9*

Powerful enough for the indie filmmaker, and also simple enough for the rest of us. Nizo is not a Swiss Army knife packed with compromised features, it‘s a creative scalpel.

### 5/5 — Videos export but don’t appear on camera roll

*2020-03-09, version 1.0.9*

Great app otherwise

### 5/5 — Yet minimal yet useful

*2020-03-09*

Thank you for making creative, useful and handy tool for shooting.
It's provides creative cinematic output.

I wish if there is more tool and creative Liberty in future.

Thank you

### 5/5 — Film High Quality Videos on Your iPhone

*2020-02-15*

I first heard of Nizo after one of my favorite musicians, Jack Ladder appeared in a music video via this amazing app.

Nizo is user friendly and I’m not a professional filmmaker, but the app allows me to create clear videos on my iPhone. I tend to film most of what I cook so guess what’s next for me and Nizo?

**Developer response:** Hi Mia! Jack Ladder is such amazing talent! We love that you discovered Nizo from Jack’s music video ‘Amputation Reputation’. It’s one of our favourite films only made possible on the iPhone.

Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience! It’s super cool to hear you’re enjoying the simplicity of Nizo creating your culinary delights while listening to Jack Ladder. 😊

Happy filmmaking, Vicki

### 5/5 — Fast, efficient and simple

*2020-02-13, version 1.0.9*

I haven’t been using it long but I’ve made a couple of quick videos of my children playing and I love it. The final edit looks very nice and I got compliments on the video. I’ve already recommended the app without hesitation!
I’d love to see more transitions in future updates like fade in/out and maybe even a small library of public domain songs/audio to add to the videos.

*2020-03-23*

### 1/5 — Not sure

*2020-03-20, version 1.0.9*

Mine is always upside down of my iPad screen, can this be fixed?

### 1/5 — Total rubbish

*2019-11-08*

Once you open the app you can’t get it closed

**Developer response:** Hi there, sorry to hear of your experience. To close any screen within Nizo simply ‘swipe downwards’ or ‘pinch’ to close. On an iPhone without the home-button: exit Nizo by swiping downwards on the home indicator. Please contact us at support@nizo.co if you’d be so kind to share more details we would love to help. Thank you. – Jason

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-02-22, version 1.0.1*

This app is awful, not user friendly at all. Frustrating to use and try to figure out.

### 1/5 — Nothing special

*2018-12-21, version 1.0*

Theres no way to flip the camera, no voice over record, very limited and ugly filters, many free apps have super cinematic filters, this app has the most ugliest cine filters, u can’t lock the white balance so ur shots will lock deferent because of white balance changes.

### 2/5 — Need Help

*2020-12-07, version 1.0.13*

Please can this app have dual viewing when shooting. I have an iPhone and would like to flip the camera around to see. Also is there a Manual I can look at.

### 2/5 — 原来没有iPad的版本，

*2020-03-03*

### 5/5 — Surprised there’s not recent reviews

*2024-02-23*

I’ve been using this app for several years, for the editing format and the other main reason is the quality of the video with the live lut overlay.

Even back when I had an iPhone 8, I noticed that this app takes very good advantage of the camera hardware, squeezing out detail and quality that I found hard to obtain, even with other apps. The live overlay is also extremely high quality.

I guess that summarizes what I like about this app. it’s simple. it doesn’t do a lot. but what it does, it does in extremely great detail as far as the image quality goes. anyway. I figured I’d leave a review since I’ve been using it for so long now. I’m surprised that this app didn’t become more popular tbh, but then again, I don’t think that was ever really the main goal for this one. I think it’s awesome. Cheers.

**Developer response:** Hi there,

Apologies for my delay in getting back to you. Thank you so much for your kind review and sharing your experience of Nizo! I’m delighted to hear you’ve been enjoying Nizo for many years. We’re passionate about film and perfecting high quality authentic film grades. Our goal was to create a simple filmmaking tool, as a creative companion. It’s amazing to hear your story, and how Nizo has found a place in your life as a creative tool. Appreciate your feedback, it means a lot.

If you’d like, please reach out anytime to: jason@nizo.co if you would like to share anything. It’s always wonderful meeting, and discovering how people create with Nizo.

Thanks again, best wishes from Sydney, Australia.

### 5/5 — My primary video app

*2022-08-03, version 1.0.15*

This is an excellent app. I use it for quick videos because I can shoot and edit all in one place then flip it to the camera roll to email or whatever. I also build larger projects over a day, like a hike or an event. I collect bits of video and add them to the project, then easily do a rough cut or even a final cut. Export to camera roll, add titles in iMovie if I want them or Premiere if I want to get fancy. I would still use FiLMic if I want more control of exposure and I want to edit in Premiere, but really, that’s not what Nizo is for. The simple combination of shooting and editing functionality makes me approach the whole process differently. It’s more fun and immediate than using a bunch of different apps and the final projects look great.

### 5/5 — Incredible app, but…

*2021-06-16, version 1.0.14*

I love this app so much. The controls allow you to edit quickly using intuitive controls.

However, please enable 4K at 60fps for the iPhone SE 2020. It is currently capped at 4K30fps and I usually prefer recording in 60fps.

Other than that, this app is perfect.

### 5/5 — Fantastic video camera

*2020-11-12, version 1.0.13*

Nizo is the best filmmaking camera to have with me. Its fast and excellent at making simple edits. Shoot with different frame rates, trim and add music. Easy! Its a remarkable creative tool, a perfect blend of camera and editor - a must have for video makers!

### 5/5 — Edit as you Shoot

*2020-10-18, version 1.0.13*

Nizo is an amazing filmmaking tool to carry in your pocket. The interface feels like magic. The app is a unique all-in-one that masterfully combines shooting and editing. As you shoot, each clip adds to the last to create a digital filmstrip. You become immersed with your filmstrip, everything is gestural and fluid. By zooming in and out of your film it’s possible to trim, rearrange and playback quickly.

The camera design is clean allowing for focus on your subject. The simple combination of ISO and Shutter control is superb. It’s fast to dart back and fourth between editor and camera to try another shot. You’re always in creative control, the tool flows with you. An interface breakthrough like this takes courage, to break from conventional thinking. I commend the creators, it’s a near flawless design.

The app has attracted talented artists I’ve never come across before. I love the curated creative films, these young artists are incredible. It’s exciting to see a showcase of today’s filmmaking avant-garde.

It’s rare to connect with creative software. Nizo is a diamond in the rough, I wish to thank the creators and look forward to what’s next.

### 5/5 — Elegance and Simplicity

*2020-09-06, version 1.0.12*

Best video app I’ve ever used. You don’t need to deal with magical settings and buttons all over the screen. It just gets out of the way and gets to the core and lets your own creativity and imagination be the star of the show. In minutes you can have a small film edited with soundtrackbready to go. I won’t use anything else for video anymore

### 5/5 — An App I Cannot Live Without

*2020-09-05*

A close friend recommended NIZO to me about two years back. This app has been perfected for both beginners interested in working in film and professionals. Each feature and editing tool is exceptional, easy to navigate and the format of the app makes the process seamless. I’m still in disbelief NIZO has the capability to produce this quality of work from an iPhone’s camera lens!

### 5/5 — 喜欢但有不足

*2020-04-08*

很有质感的软件但是如何添加音乐？也不能倍速吗？

**Developer response:** 嗨，Zhanghantuxing！

### 5/5 — Feature request: record audio

*2020-03-17*

I really do love this app and respect the work of the developers. I have a feature request that would make it a 5-star experience for me, and that’s the ability to record audio as a separate file and use that instead of music from my phone. I don’t store a lot of music on my phone so I don’t have many audio options, and although you could use the audio from the video recording, it would be great to be able to record the audio separately within the app and use that for the video footage. Otherwise it really is a great app!

Edit: Thank you for the response. I was think that I’d like to record the audio from the scene that I’m recording as a long backing track, so it relates to scene but isn’t choppy, if you see what I mean. Your solution did work well for me so thank you 👌🏻 also, is it possible to change the video filter once the video has been recorded?

Many thanks,
Jason

**Developer response:** Update: Hi Jason, hope you’re very well. Thank you for clarifying the audio suggestion and keeping me in the loop. At this stage it’s not possible to change the colour grade in post.

Feel free to reach out anytime to jason@nizo.co

Best wishes from Sydney, Australia.

Jason

—

Hi Jason! Thanks so much! Thrilled you’re enjoying filmmaking with Nizo. Appreciate your kind words and feature request. To elaborate on your idea, are you thinking of a feature where you can record your voice? To narrate your film?

In the interim you could try recording your voice with Apple Voices or Apple Music Memos. Once recorded simply save to the Nizo folder inside the Files app on your iPhone, or iCloud Drive if you’re creating on a Mac. This will sync the audio file inside Nizo, ready to add to your film.

Happy to help with more details of this approach if you’d like. Please email me at jason@nizo.co anytime.

Happy filmmaking, best wishes from Australia.

Jason
