In addition, the idea that you can spend that much money per year on an app and they don’t give you a way to delete a score from your playlist without deleting the entire playlist is just insane. It’s such a simple coding measure. You have to conclude they genuinely don’t care. If you’re going to have an app like this, you should pay developers to continue to make sure that it’s updated and functional. If they fix these issues, it would surely be a five star review. ### 3/5 — Illegally charged despite canceling subscription *2026-04-28, version 4.0.8* Update: I got a refund. They agreed to a refund a day after charging me and receiving an email from me explaining why they needed to give me a refund. Original review: They illegally charged me despite my cancelling my free trial 24 hours before it ended. Still trying to get a refund. Beware signing up for their subscription on their website as there is no instantaneous electronic cancellation mechanism. I went through the steps as directed multiple times and received no cancellation email. I additionally emailed customer service so that I could have a record of requesting to cancel. This could have been a useful app to subscribe to in months when I play gigs that don’t give out non public domain music in advance, but I won’t do so unless they sort out an effective instaneous electronic cancellation mechanism and refund the illegal charge. For public domain music imslp is adequate and FREE. ### 2/5 — Horribly slow *2025-12-10, version 4.0.7* Greatly appreciate being able to access the contemporary scores that are hard to find elsewhere. I’ve paid for nkoda for a few years now. But now I have an iPad which should make using nkoda easier, I’ve found this app is sluggish and takes forever to load even downloaded scores. It’s a slog, and for the first time I’m considering unsubscribing to nkoda. Looking at a bright white screen for hours on end gives me huge migraines, so I'll continue using the IMSLP score reader until this feature is included. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to log in and access music, but once you’re in the amount of music you can access is brilliant. Stürzt andauernd ab und verlangt dann jedes Mal, dass man sich aufwendig neu anmeldet. Großartig erst Recht, wenn man kein Netz hat, dann geht halt gar nichts mehr. Every time I open the app and want to search for specific music, it takes unexpectedly long, and requires you to know the composer to even attempt a term search. But the most egregious issue is the threat to disable your account from screen shots. It’s easy to accidentally take a screen shot. And you block the content anyway, so it’s not like trying to take a screenshot even does anything. Don’t threaten to suspend a users account for accidental screenshots that don’t even capture copyright material. I wanted to find and download some sheet music, to print for me to play. Nkoda does not provide that facility. I want cancel my free trial and avoid subscribing to nkoda, but their website does not have that function, instead it directs me in my iPad settings and there is no obvious link to the nkoda subscription - I hope that means that the subscription does not exist. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Beware Region Block *2026-02-20, version 4.0.8* Despite the huge subscription costs, majority of music is locked behind a region wall and unavailable. Further to this, the user interface and searchability of music is very poor. Horrible app. Not my first time using it, and I can assure you it’s been a nightmare every time. I hate this thing so much. I honestly only use it as my university offers it, but honestly, it’s not great. It’s also super slow. Like A+ developers for the idea. I only signed up for it because I was in search of ONE piece of music I couldn't find anywhere else. After a couple of days I realized they didn't have it either (even though they said they did) and so I went to cancel the service. The website would not allow me to sign in with the password I set up, so I requested a new password. Was told I would get it "immediately" in my email inbox. Never came, after three separate tries. I cancelled my subscription last August 2024before paying the ridiculous almost 50% increase … And now in March 2025 they’ve charged me $139 dollars — without authorization. How do they still have my CC info AFTER I cancelled my. Subscription? The UI was horrible … NO customer support. Horrible horrible experience. Although it is VERY expensive (especially since my country’s currency is so weak compared to US/UK/EU), I am fortunate that my institution can pay for it. If I had to pay for it myself it would be simply out of reach to afford.
