For 4x6 prints, I needed an app that properly displays my iPhone photographs within a 4x6 template. This app to the rescue! Reasonably priced, too. And I like how the images that it saves are still very high-resolution. UPDATE (September 2025) — I contacted the developer of the app and requested a new template for 5x7 and 7x5. I was so pleasantly surprised when the app was updated within a week or two with this new capability. Tremendous customer support! **Developer response:** Thank you! Thanks for trying the app! ### 1/5 — Pay wall *2026-07-21* Garbage app, can only do a few photos before needing $20 ### 1/5 — Just make an Apple Shortcuts instead *2026-06-07, version 8.1.0* Forget the subscription bs and free save limit. I just had ChatGPT generate a white 1536x1536.png and made a shortcut to batch select photos, repeat for each image, resize the longest edge to 1384, get the white square png, overlay the resized image over the png, save the overlaid image to an album, end repeat. You can customize the border size and use reference photos in ChatGPT for your preferred values. Took my 10 seconds to batch edit 21 photos with borders. ### 1/5 — You need a subscription now 👎🏽 *2024-08-30* Used to be a cool app. Even a one time payment wouldn’t be bad, or even a short ad. For whatever reason when you apply say a white border to a video, once it saves it usually saves it as a grey color. So I’ve had to use a blurred background which is a little annoying **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! This looks like a known issue with color handling during video export, especially with HDR/SDR videos. I’m working on improving this and plan to address it in the next update. ### 2/5 — It doesn't work for my videos *2026-08-11* Works great for photos, but it won't save the videos. I tried several times it keeps giving me an error. I'm just uploading two second video files, that were created from live photos. Very simple and short. **Developer response:** Sorry about that! Please contact me at support@simpleborder.app so I can investigate what’s causing the error on your device. ### 2/5 — Great Concept, Too Pricey *2026-02-11* Incredibly fast to resize for IG, adding a border instead of cropping. I liked that it would automatically apply the previous border color I used to my next pic. Unfortunately you only get 5 free saves before you are pay blocked. I use Instagram for fun, so I’m not interested in a subscription just to resize for posting. I’d pay if it was a small, one time fee, but with subscriptions, it was an immediate uninstall. **Developer response:** Thank you for the honest feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed the speed and workflow. There is no crop, the border has many options to choose from customization wise. There is also a lifetime option which I bought because I love the app and many apps now a days don’t offer lifetime options especially in the photography scene (LR)..
