I do not know if developers are still responding and updating this, but I would find it very helpful if you could add a way to remove community posts. With thumbnails gone, it's almost perfect, but community posts are very pervasive and I have found no way to disable them. It's a pitty because it works well **Developer response:** Hi there, the app doesn't monitor or collect any user data. I think the reason for this notice is that any safari extension that includes, say, functionality where the click of a button executes some script (like the button for hiding comments does) COULD in principle abuse this for malicious purposes. This extension doesn't do anything other than change the styling of YouTube and add a button to show or hide the comments. There's no way to remove those -- if there's specific places where the extension *should* be able to hide content, and it currently doesn't, could you email me at ulrik.lyngs@gmail.com or create an issue on the GitHub repo? https://github.com/ulyngs/open-source-no-distractions-for-youtube Cheers, Ulrik ### 2/5 — Don't install if you want/need comments. *2021-12-23, version 2.01* The premise is great, hides suggested videos which is perfect and all I wanted, however it also forces all comments to be hidden with no option to simply have the extension hide distracting videos only. Instead, there's a Load Comments button which either never loads or loads after waiting 10-20 seconds, resulting in the extension becoming more distracting and annoying than the original distraction. Sometimes you have to repeatedly click to try and make the buggy button work, and sometimes the button doesn't even show so you have to refresh or open the same page in a new tab. What's more frustrating is that I don't want this extension touching comments at all. This is on a new M1 Mac and tried on 2 different Macs, so isn't my system. Comments are very helpful for my use-cases on YouTube, so it's annoying that this extension forces everything to be removed rather than choosing what you want removed. If the dev updates it to simply allow you to hide suggested videos and not touch anything to do with comments, which I hope they do, then I'd happily reinstall and rate 5 stars. ### 3/5 — "Shorts" menu bar don't off *2025-11-03* menu bar setting "Shorts" is not working at iPad **Developer response:** Thank you for flagging this!!! The customization makes it very useful and specific. I’ve been using this for a couple months but now, on YouTube, there seems to be a bug where comment section still shows, even though I have check, and comments should be turned off.
