### 3/5 — Recent glitches

*2025-08-11*

This app was trouble free nearly every day for my initial year but now it routinely informs me that I am disconnected from the Internet despite having a full local WiFi signal as well as a 2-bar 5g signal. All other Internet dependent apps on my phone are fully functional.

### 2/5 — Buggy download:(

*2025-08-02, version 6.4.0*

I was so excited when I found out about this app. But immediately the download is dragging and glitching. I haven’t been able to get passed the login, it’s says “Error,” and my account cannot be found. Very frustrating, I’m hoping they can fix it and I can update my review.

### 3/5 — AI Narration filter needed

*2025-08-01, version 6.4.0*

Please add a filter so AI-generated narrated articles can be removed from searches

### 3/5 — Quick concept, poor execution

*2025-02-28, version 6.3.6*

The concept behind this app is fantastic and I enjoy listening to the content, when it works. The app now freezes, box down, calls up the wrong program. Needs an update.

### 4/5 — Where's the CarPlay port?

*2025-01-07, version 6.3.6*

This is a great app. It should be a natural for listening in the car. I hope we'll see a CarPlay interface soon!

### 2/5 — Not enough media

*2024-11-12, version 6.3.5*

Great design, but not enough publications for my interests.

### 2/5 — Setup process is annoying

*2024-10-14, version 6.3.4*

I saw that they had stuff from pro publica so I am interested in trying the app. But I’m not interested in picking other sources or interests. It sounds like there is a way to sign up outside the app so I may try that later.

### 1/5 — Do not download this app

*2024-08-21, version 6.3.2*

After I started using it, they emailed me and said they were giving me Premium for 7 days free and I wouldn’t be charged till after. I don’t even know who to complain to. I never said I wanted Premium. It is a bait and switch.

### 4/5 — Best of the audio news apps, with one significant tech issue.

*2024-08-11*

I’ve used a lot of news/magazine reading apps over the years. I find Noa to be the best of the bunch: broad selection of source material, excellent readers (even the AI ones), easy to use app.

The one technical issue I haven’t figured out how to overcome is the app stops reading whenever it’s playing and either the phone auto-lock kicks in or I switch to another app while I’m listening.

I’ll subscribe for a year and see if I can figure out how to bypass that glitch.

### 4/5 — Please support larger text settings

*2024-02-27*

I’m really excited about the content in this app. I’m using it because my vision is extremely poor and I can’t read all the things I used to. Unfortunately this app has such small text (even though my accessibility settings have my text set to extremely large) that I can barely use it.

### 3/5 — Decent idea, needs tweaks

*2023-10-13*

I loved this app when I first discovered it, however after some brief time using it, I have lots of feedback on how it could be improved. If these issues could be resolved, I would love this app and use it all the time:

1) Queue issues: when I try to resume listening to a series after stopping mid-way, I cannot resume listening to the series again. I have to manually select each individual article and intro/conclusion. Otherwise the audio automatically stays to an unrelated article I never queued. This is a repeated issue.

2) Annoying “ding” sound at the start of each article: I listen to articles both informationally, as well as to fall asleep. After just 2 weeks of listening, I grew very annoyed with the intro sound for each article. It disrupted the rhythmic narrator when I was falling asleep, and it was just irritating when I was listening to multiple articles in a row. If it only ding when I first open the app, that would be fine. However as it is, it’s way too often.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Uses AI voice

*2026-06-17*

Sick of listening to AI voices everywhere.

### 1/5 — No way to register

*2026-04-21, version 6.4.5*

What a joke of an app! First with all the questions like it’s Ticketmaster looking for ways to spam me. Nope, I just want to listen to FP without all the Noa bugs. But… there’s no way to create an account with Noa. That’s odd if not a terrible bug. Whatever. I don’t need it. ProPublica and FP work better than this junk app.

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2026-04-10*

I found out about this app due to listening to articles in New York magazine. To my surprise, there are no New York magazine articles in the NOA app. To listen to any content, I would have to sign up for a paid account, even though I already pay for a news subscription. All I wanted was to be able to find narrated articles in one spot for New York magazine, and this is definitely not that. Waste of time, and disappointing.

### 1/5 — No thanks

*2025-09-03*

Downloaded this app when I saw it was possible to listen to an article I was reading. Within 4-5 days I was bombarded with emails. No thanks. App deleted.

### 1/5 — They forgot to allow new users to create an account

*2025-07-25, version 6.4.0*

Downloaded the app for the first time. After initial setup, there is no place for me to use my email to create a new account. I don't want to sign in with any of the other services. I just want to use my email to create an account. Apparently, there is no way to do this in the app.

### 1/5 — The app won’t let you create an account!

*2025-02-26, version 6.3.6*

After downloading this app, it tells you to pick the news sources and then tells you to login! Not create a new account; just the option to login. So how are you supposed to create a new account?!

### 1/5 — Slow, no fast forward

*2025-01-05, version 6.3.6*

App is slow, you can’t fast forward, and overall the ui is very low quality. You’re better off going to publishers individually.

### 1/5 — Impossible to create account

*2025-01-04*

The account creation process is a tedious selection of topic preferences, and when you reach the end it says “welcome back” and has options to login with different services or username/password.

Trying to create an account here just says “account doesn’t exist” and there’s no explicit “create account” button.

Unfortunately I’m now totally stuck within this apps onboarding process and can’t use it in any way.

### 1/5 — Couldn’t even figure out how to signup

*2024-12-14, version 6.3.6*

It’s rare in 2024 to encounter an app with such bad onboarding. After picking topics, which couldn’t be skipped, I was brought to a screen to log in but there was no button to sign up.

### 1/5 — Premium subscription failure - no support

*2024-12-04*

I subscribed to Noa’s annual premium plan, and after just four months, the app completely stopped working. Despite multiple attempts to update the app and contact the developers, I’ve received no response or support.

This is unacceptable for a paid service. Don’t waste your money on a subscription that doesn’t work and a team that ignores its customers.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Keep it up!

*2026-05-07*

Awesome!!! Great news ingestion. Used the human filter (could make it part of onboarding). (btw saw article restart b/c I triggered third-party app dictation while it was reading.) Read along is really neat. Would help to see full article in a frame with the original formatting and any assets. Thank you!

Day two of trying the app, updating my review. Listening to humans read the MIT review and Bloomberg, etc. is essentially perfect. If I could see the whole article, kind of like Microsoft Edge Immersive Reader, then the app would be also perfect when I'm sitting down and want to read along. I know this is a big ask because even the native iOS functionality is buggy, and Edge is far from perfect too (also privacy leak to MS). Publishers, I hope you would appreciate us being able to see the article like it was meant to be seen!

Some of the narrators you could listen to for hours for sure.

PS: is my data ever used for anything besides delivering the service?

### 5/5 — News Across the Spectrum

*2026-01-18*

Been listening to NOA for a couple of years now, and really like how comprehensive the selection is. I like the range of articles, across the areas of my own selected interests. I find the material ranges from quite detailed to great summary or overviews. Also it is very timely and current, with important takes on current events and situations. All in all a very solid app.

### 5/5 — Off my couch, out for a walk

*2025-08-24*

Hitting 62 years old brought both good and bad changes. Retirement is good, Couch-Lock is bad.

Noa turns my daily walks into time well spent. I choose to listen to and learn about current news and insights from respected journalists. Since I’m not tied to my TV, I’m feeling healthier and better informed.

### 5/5 — Good source of interesting articles

*2025-05-23, version 6.3.9*

Its a good way to learn something since I am more of an audio guy. My request is to have an Apple Watch stand alone app so we can listen while jogging even if we forgot our phones. Also, can we have more articles from the economist magazine?

### 5/5 — Fantastic App!

*2025-05-11*

I listen to NOA almost every day. Tremendous variety of material on a wide variety of topics from top sources! The narration is very well done too!

### 5/5 — Ms.

*2025-04-02, version 6.3.9*

Amazing! Keeps me up to date on all I need to know.

### 5/5 — The Best Way to Stay Informed – Effortless and Engaging!

*2025-02-05*

Noa offers a seamless listening experience with top-notch articles from the world’s best sources. I especially love Harvard Business Review and Fast Company.

The UX is smooth, and listening is far more enjoyable than reading. Whether commuting or working out, Noa makes staying informed effortless. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great mix of publishers

*2025-01-22, version 6.3.6*

I love listening to quick and long form articles.

### 5/5 — Bloodroot

*2024-04-09, version 6.2.6*

Time saving concise information with out fluff.

### 5/5 — Noa is great.

*2023-05-16, version 6.1.0*

To me, Noa feels fresh. I find it to be fair in its aggregation of daily news, and I think the “Series” section is the most comprehensive and balanced digest of complex topics in the world of news. I love it. I find it very useful.
