Every time I go to Echo tops it crashes have to remove the app and reload it. ### 4/5 — Bring back the echo tops *2025-06-04, version 1.7.2* Loved the echo tops tab but looks like it is not supported anymore. ### 2/5 — App. Crashes Often *2024-08-27* When it does work, it’s fine. See rotation before the local news puts it out or not? This years winter 2022 you cannot visualize winter precipitation like previous years. It’s worthless for winter storms. In radar station mode the storm velocity does not work at all and has not for years. It provides a decent radar, moisture and cloud mode. In station mode there are other modes that work but without the storm velocity it is incomplete. I repeat the same review for 2023-2024 Storm Velocity does not work. App will sometimes lock up your phone in this mode so had to do hard restart of the phone. Winter modes do not work anymore at all. ### 4/5 — Great app but freezing a lot *2024-05-28* The app has great potential. But it seems like on many startups when I first open the app and it’s starting an updat, It freezes. The only way to get it out is to shut it down and and clear the app. Then restart it seems to be fine. There must be some issues. In station mode there are other modes that work but without the storm velocity it is incomplete. ### 3/5 — Almost a good app *2023-12-10* Either make all tools available to use or remove them from the app. If you try and use the storm relative velocity feature, it crashes the app and you have to delete and reinstall. Luckily the base velocity has similar features and works, otherwise it would be 1 star and delete the app. ### 2/5 — Dual radar *2022-02-04* Dual function works well. I gave this 2 stars at one point bc the radar-in-motion widget no longer works (@ Mapquest fault); but this is the fastest loading radar map I have found. Hi-res and velocity are stellar and the zoom stays where you previously left it when you reopen the app. ### 5/5 — Former NEXRAD PUP Operator *2017-08-06, version 1.2.3* I love this app. It's as close to having a personal Doppler radar workstation as you can get on an iPad. This is very, very well done! ### 5/5 — Best Radar App for iOS *2017-07-31* 👍🏼 Dual Radar is the best Radar app I've used for iOS. The level of detail at the Super Res level is outstanding. The app is simple yet accurate. I use Weather Bug as my main forecast app however whenever I need to check the radar, I use Dual Radar. It's right there on my home screen at the top 👍🏼 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Used to be great *2024-04-03* I had rated this as 5 star, but now watches and warnings don’t show up any more. There hasn’t been an update in a long time, so not sure it is supported any more. Shouldn’t be a paid app if it isn’t supported. Doesn’t show radar full screen on my iPhone, just shows radar data on part of the screen. ### 1/5 — As soon as I buy app 3 minutes ago it automatically crashes *2023-03-28* I was afraid of this from other reviews I would like a refund, it immediately crashed as soon as I got on and won’t even open back up this is absolutely ridiculous and I wouldn’t trust your life with it. ### 1/5 — Used to love this app but… *2022-07-31, version 1.7.2* It keeps crashing every time I try to switch to stations. At one point I found this to be a very useful tool. Now when I try to look at reflectivity, it goes down. I have to delete the app and reload and reset my settings. Why???? Please fix soon or next time I’ll just leave it deleted. Update…Gave the chance but no response from the developer and issue not fixed. Deleted for good. What I really like is the ability to see the whole nation’s weather at once and with the excellent satellite terrain mapping. ### 5/5 — Freeze’s *2024-06-05* I like the use and the look of the Dual Radar app, but almost every time I open it up it freezes on the update screen the only way I can get it to work is shut it down close the app out by swiping it and restart it. it works all right next time exact same thing acts like an incompatibility to iOS 15 possibly or it’s just buggy software need to get your bugs fixed and then it will be an excellent app for watching the weather. To make this app my primary app I really wish there was a lightning strike feature. ### 5/5 — Simple and highly informative if you’re a visual learner. *2020-07-22* I tend to use a weather app when there are storms around and have no interest in what most other apps offer, lots of written information and pretty pictures, flipping back and forth between pages full of itty bitty rather useless information. Functionality summary: please read item 3 1) It opens up to the map position and radar settings of your choice (many, many settings options) - it doesn’t forget last radar map position or radar setting choice. You will need to touch the icon at bottom left so it will determine your current location. 2) It can be set to play individual radar stations throughout the country (selected by touching a black dot at the station’s map position) or play combined radar stations (no need to select) what’s combined. 3) Here is the really big deal. Touch and hold a finger on a map location (about 3 seconds) and a drop down box spills out onto the map showing current conditions and 7 day forecast for that map position. Forecast uses nicely informative icons, not a lot of reading. Touch again and it’s gone. Everything is on one screen. 4) Resolution is excellent. Storm cell movement is good. Storm tracks can be added and other enhancements like storm cell cloud echo tops, predictive radar, etc. etc. (does not offer arrow wind flow patterns) 5) User friendly. I’m happy with it. 6) Priced fairly, good value at $3.99. Not a subscription at this time. I don’t do subscriptions. ### 5/5 — 5 years now *2019-08-16, version 1.7.2* Excellent program, it works.
