All around very strong, concise, and to the point. App is strangely lacking a singular 7 or 10 day forecast summary screen that quickly summarizes the upcoming week of weather all on a single screen. Other than that, this app is a 10 out of 10 and should get further development to be made even better. It’s worth it. ### 2/5 — It’s gotten worse *2025-07-09, version 1.30.1* NWS forecasters are statistically worse than the weather channel and even AccuWeather (at least in my area), but I guess that’s not what I’m reviewing here. This app seems to have gotten worse. For some reason, it hides watches and warnings that are active until I click around and then go back to the main forecast page. It shows up in red for a second, but it disappears before you can click on it. That’s a bug and no one is fixing it. Also, when there is an active watch or warning, it does not show the date and time it was issued. There are several layers that you can use on a map to view different aspects of weather. The forecast is given directly from the national weather service in a very simple and easy to read format. I’ll probably just switch to another weather app since the app never works! ### 1/5 — About time to move on *2018-09-02, version 1.6.5* UPDATED REVIEW: it’s been about a year or so since my initial review & sadly, still have NEVER RECEIVED A WEATHER ALERT! No favorites tab has been added. Still have to select which overlay on the map I want to view, and now have to zoom in on my location because it shows all of the US, Mexico, & Canada. The radar in motion is still clunky & slow, & that’s if it works @ all. Very disappointed. It’s really not even a 1 Star app @ this point. The app does provide the detailed forecast from the NWS. & that's about the good thing. You can set up weather alerts & there's an option for sound, but according to the developer you will only get these if you leave the app open. Really? I had several winter weather advisories for my area & did not receive a single notification of any of them. Each time you enter the app it takes you to the map tab. Which is ok if you want that. There's no option to add a favorite tab. On this map, you have to select which overlay you want each time. It does not save the overlay you want. Causes additional taps & gets annoying. The overlays look clunky & not as accurate as the NWS radar. Overall just a 2 star app right now. If the severe weather notifications were to actually work w/ sound, better map, ability to save a favorite tab & settings on the radar, could be the perfect app. Hopefully some things will be fixed/added ### 2/5 — Great weather NASTY ADS!!! *2026-01-08, version 1.30.7* The weather on this app was great! Purchased to remove them. Worked great, then ads came back. Why? After brief disappointment it looks like I was able to restore purchase now. Which I’m glad for. There are a lot of other weather apps out there and some have a really fancy UI but this one is tried and true. I am also very particular about where I get weather information and I only use NWS forecasts. I first heard about this app in late 2016 and have been using it ever since. The data comes straight from the National Weather Service, which as I mentioned is a 'must' for me. The VoiceOver accessibility of the forecast screen is very good, including support for the hourly NWS info. This really is the best weather app I've used, and I'm so glad it's still going strong after all this time.
