I started using it more this fall to help plan my fishing trips. I live in northern Michigan and the weather on the lakes up here changes from day to day. I have noticed that a few of the weather radio stations I have selected do not provide audio. The now data is there but no sound, just continues to indicate connecting but never connects. I’m using this app on an iPad Pro with plenty of memory and storage. Thank you bmayrand ### 3/5 — NOAA weather streaming *2020-05-12, version 11.0* Disappointing. The stations that work here I can get for free. The ones that I can’t get free and are on here don’t work. You know they don’t work and never will. A come on for $5.00. I cannot send an email from the app. Pasting a copy of my attempt to contact the company. How do we receive alert sounds, banners and badges? They are all turned on in settings/notifications. I have purchased the text/alert upgrade for both iPad and my iPhone. I also used our second email address on the iPhone to eliminate one possible problem. For instance the station for Richmond VA WON'tplay. ### 5/5 — Fantastic weather radio *2015-07-14, version 6.1* I've always used NOAA weather radios in the past. I've been looking for a good iPad app that not only provided the NOAA radio broadcast but also the NOAA alerts. This app does it perfectly! One suggestion would be to implement the ability to disable certain alerts like "flood watch", "flood warning", etc. Where I live we never flood so I'd like to disable this alert. The support for this app is excellent, the developers are very quick to respond to any questions. ### 3/5 — Alerts are truncated *2015-03-01, version 6.1* Since I keep getting these persistent pop-up requests to rate this app, I guess it's time to air my one major gripe with it. I really like the app and the audible warnings on my mobile device (even if the app isn't running) when a NOAA alert for the specified area is issued. However, what I don't like is that the source alerts are truncated and frequently the items of interest (for instance right now the depth of expected snowball) are cut off. So I end up having to go to the NWS website (or one of the online weather sites) to read the full text of the alert. Granted the alerts are sometimes lengthy in major metro areas where there is a large variance in expected weather from one section to another but this app should display the entire source document. ### 5/5 — Top 3 Weather Apps Available *2014-12-15, version 6.1* My wife and I are amateur weather buffs and constantly try new/different apps to get a sense of what's coming (weather-wise) and how long it will last. My other top app changes from time-to-time with a new fav replacing the old standby from time-to-time. But this app remains in my top two like an old friend; steady, reliable, easy to use and remembers my preferences (favorites) just like an old friend! No radar. No temps. No snow fall totals. No wind. Nothing!!! I have privately written you. No response. I have commented here in the review section. No response although Apple now provides you with the ability to respond. If you have abandoned this app, you have the ethical responsibility to remove it from the app store and reimburse customers who paid for functionality they never received. This is by CrushedBox *2017-09-10, version 9.4.5* This website is NOT an official Government NOAA website. It's by CrushBox. I reported them to Apple but they still have this App available. I called & spoke to a Meteorologist in Topeka, KS, who told me that this App is NOT an official government website which is NOAA. I am surprised that Apple continues to list it as NOAA radio when it is not. I could never get the Topeka station. Apple take this website down....... ### 1/5 — Certain Stations don't play *2017-09-08, version 9.4.5* The station in my area does not work. ### 1/5 — No longer works for my state *2017-07-05, version 9.4.5* Update: I wrote the developer and there have been no changes in how this app no longer works. He has not fixed this app for my state. I mentioned in the email something I did not mention here and that is that this app does not work on my Air 1 running iOS 10.3 nor my Air 2 running iOS 9.3.5. I really do not like to write reviews at this point, but the day I decided to do so was because my other weather apps showed a tornado alert. I once counted on this app to deliver radio updates for safety for all the millions of people who live here. I guess many of us will have to find another app. Too bad. I know that developers can now respond within a review, and I challenge him to fix this app or to say that he no longer supports this app. In case people have missed the news that many, many apps will not work unless they are updated for iOS 11, I warn you not to buy apps that have not yet been updated for iOS 10 at the very least. Apple is now, thankfully, removing many old apps from the store. If you are running iOS 10, you can find which apps that are on your device will not run unless updated. From the middle of June: I bought this eons ago for iPad 1, and while many people did not have coverage, we did. Now only 2 of the stations work. Sadly this does not include the capital nor any of the major cities. Very disappointed as weather can change rapidly here. ### 1/5 — Update to like *2017-06-24, version 9.4.5* At first I rated 5 stars but now using it more, it's okay. I added and paid for the extras as I thought this app would work like a weather radio with sound and thought I needed the extras for it to work, but it's only pop up alerts and nothing makes radio work, it just clocks. The page that looks like sound clocks and does nothing. I downloaded on my iPad and my iPhone. I only paid to upgrade on one device as I saw if I'd I write a review and email them with information they requested, they'd upgrade my app for free. I followed all info and never got free upgrade or an email or a reply. Maps are nice but wish I would've received free upgrade on app after rating as promised as well as I could hear weather radio I select for area. The app does not have as many local stations available as the radios, and it’s important for me to have access to stations to the west to be prepared for most oncoming weather. Also, the radio often cuts out shortly after I open the app. ### 5/5 — The One WX Radio App You You Have to Have *2020-07-20, version 11.0* I already own the iPhone version of the app and gave it five stars. I liked it so much in fact that I also purchased the iPad version. You don’t really need two different versions, one for iPad and one for iPhone. The iPhone version works fine on both. However, I wanted to be sure to try both out before I included them on my list of recommended weather apps when I teach the weather portion of our county’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course. The app offers many different feeds in addition to NOAA Weather Radio including NOAA’s coastal and marine broadcasts to name a couple. Detailed alerts and hi-res radar can be added for a small additional charge for each. You can customize your alerts and notifications to suit your needs as well as add multiple locations for those who need to keep an ear out for that vacation property or boat at another location. Please note, the radio feed is streamed directly from a receiver tuned to the local WX service frequency. You’re listening to an actual radio so you’ll hear occasional static and some feeds are better than others in terms of audio quality. I checked and didn’t find any that I felt were unusable. Also, you won’t hear anything those times if either the NWS transmitter or the audio feed are down for maintenance. All-in-all an excellent app that does what it claims to. I highly recommend. ### 5/5 — Good *2020-03-07, version 10.2* Yay ### 5/5 — An important app *2019-08-16, version 10.2* Living in Florida during hurricane season can be a challenge. Some years leaving the weather radio on can drive you nuts. Every few hours, day and night, the radio is bound to squawk and rather than be comforting can be a real nuisance. However, turning the radio off completely could be dangerous. So I was glad I found this app. I can listen to the radio or listen through my earphones, or play it for all. I had trouble orienting myself in the beginning. To set it up, you are supposed to just identify your community, but it doesn’t work that way. NOAA has a number of stations located in our state, but each community does not have one. It would probably help if the developers would peg each community with the closest station. But they don’t, so I finally figured out to tune to the same stations as I tune my NOAA radio and the connection was perfect. I think this app can be one of my “most needed” apps as time goes on. ### 5/5 — Necessary App *2019-04-21, version 10.1* Well done. Needed for our changeable weather in the Plains.
