### 2/5 — Disappointingly uninformative

*2020-07-16, version 5.0.31*

You can’t query for current temperature, you can’t link with Alexa or google home, like you can with the Capa app. It’s not compatible with Apple’s HomeKit.

It’s about as smart as my combi boiler.

On an iPad it forces portrait mode, which is really annoying.

I want it to link to my home automation, instead of having to access a discrete app.

You have all the components, but not linked up.

Come on, Dimplex - 21st century solutions.

### 2/5 — Almost unusable

*2020-07-12, version 5.0.31*

This app is very poorly put together, and really, really buggy (on iPhone at least).
To start with all the scheduling fonts are white on a near-white background.
Did they even test this?
Trying to program the settings is a nightmare through a sliding schedule program (per day) which has no way of adding more time ‘segments’ (eco or normal mode) than already exists in the default program. Ie. two of each.
If you slide the time bracket to midnight the slide adjustment suddenly disappears and you can’t get it back again unless you delete the schedule and start again.
For some reason sliding the start and end of each time bracket barely works also. You lift your finger off and for some reason it forgets where you left it 2/3rds of the time.
There is no gradual adjustment either.
I was expecting much smarter capabilities than even remotely capable in this app, and should have just paid an electrician to properly wire the Nobo panel circuits in to a smart thermostat like a Nest.

### 2/5 — Freezes when try to set heating schedule

*2020-07-11, version 5.0.31*

Very basic app, can adjust temps remotely which is cool but the functionality of setting weekly schedule and turning on and off are not working.. freezes 100% of the time.. not able to save energy in the end if you can’t set time to turn on and off!!

### 2/5 — Terrible app. Doesn’t provide expected functionality

*2020-05-18, version 5.0.20*

I bought the hub, the controllers and the app so that I would have better control of my heaters and be able to set and forget them. Not so.
The app is poorly designed and highly confusing. I had to rtfm to get my heaters setup.
Instead of giving you finite control of temperatures, they have these 3 arbitrary ‘modes’ and you can’t seem to change the temperature of Away from 7 degrees.
This means you can only set the system to have two different temperatures plus off or 7’.
Not enough when you’re wanting to use the system to save money and have other heaters with pre/post sleep settings.
It doesn’t work with Google or Alexa either which is a real shame.
At this stage, if you’re looking to invest in something configurable I’d keep looking, it’s expensive and just doesn’t have the functionality to back up the high price tag.

### 1/5 — Needs urgent update

*2019-09-22, version 4.3*

Guys you need to update so iOS 13 works with it as it keeps crashing

### 1/5 — Does not work with ios13.

*2019-09-22, version 4.3*

Crashes on startup with ios13.

### 1/5 — Won’t work on 4g

*2019-02-12, version 4.1*

This system won’t work using 4g on my upgraded iPhone. After four months of trying to get nobo uk to sort this I’ve got nowhere.

### 2/5 — When will you introduce geolocation overrides?

*2018-01-27, version 4.0*

Your app has a very key shortfall compared to competitors: no geolocation override eg heating stays off if phone outside certain proximity to the home eg the owner is out for the evening. This saves manually having to enter the app and override settings all the time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-07-20, version 5.1.23*

Heaters seem to switch on and off at random. Doesn’t follow set timers. Very dated UI.

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2024-04-03, version 5.0.46*

This is the worst app ever made

### 1/5 — Not updated and no HomeKit support

*2023-05-08, version 5.0.46*

This app has not been updated in a long time and doesn’t even resize correctly on current phones. There also zero support for HomeKit so unfortunately there’s no better alternative way to control the heaters.

You’re better off throwing out the hub and just using a HomeKit wall plug to turn the panels on and off entirely.

### 1/5 — Basic at least

*2022-04-03, version 5.0.46*

Very basic and clunky to use. Daylight savings clock changes make it confusing as it’s not very easy to understand. Desperately needs a complete overhaul

### 1/5 — Needs updating

*2021-09-03, version 5.0.46*

This app is very old, isn't even full screen. It is clunky and not intuitive. Needs connection with IFTTT and HomeKit. Please update it!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t load ios 16.4

*2021-07-16, version 5.0.46*

App doesn’t load, just stays on loading screen and does nothing on ios 16.4

### 1/5 — App not working

*2021-06-15, version 5.0.46*

This app is no longer working and what’s the point of spending lots of money on smart heating if this app does not work!

### 1/5 — Last update killed the app

*2020-07-13, version 5.0.31*

Was working great until the last update which changed our scheduled temp settings and crashes every time we try to adjust the schedule. Fixing something that wasn’t broken just broke it. Can we roll back the update?

### 1/5 — Horrible Experience

*2020-06-07*

I just don’t understand how a company can advertise its products as modern or even luxorious while having an app that looks and behaves like it was written by a monkey from the 2000s. Awful and overcomplicated UI, vety limited functionality and buggy as hell. And the funny part is that I don’t even wish for a good app but only for Apple HomeKit compatibilty. These heating panels might be a good solution if you are don’t want to use it with your phone. If you want to, stay away from this brand.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iOS 13

*2019-09-23, version 4.3*

Doesn’t even open - just crashes

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great product and App

*2020-08-22, version 5.0.34*

This app works great for controlling your heaters, pretty easy to set up and use. No issues with the system at all on iOS 13.6.1

### 5/5 — Conservatory setup

*2019-12-22, version 4.3*

My sister wanted two panel
heaters, to remotely heat up her conservatory before she left work. The Nobo hub and two panel controllers recognised each other straight away. The app is very simple and clear.

Only small criticism is the non-uk power supply, which does come with a uk plug converter, but it therefore sticks out from the wall.

Otherwise, great.

### 3/5 — Stuck in 2015

*2020-11-03, version 5.0.40*

App feels very behind the times. Functional within its goals, but not hub not even adjusting to DST automatically feels very klunky and out dated. And no support for notch phone layout either, let alone any integration into smart home services.

### 3/5 — Could be great...

*2020-07-27, version 5.0.34*

But sooo fiddly to set timers on an iPhone screen and app point blank refuses to work over the internet despite being on the most recent version of all software. Been through all the trouble shooting but nope. When everything is connected on home WiFi it’s great but that sort of defeats the point of it. If I’m home already to use my WiFi then it’s not saving me any energy usage.

### 3/5 — Crashes on IOS 13

*2019-09-24, version 4.3*

Just updated my iPhone Xs Max to IOS 13 and the app won't open...

### 3/5 — Does the job but needs an update

*2019-04-05, version 4.1*

Would appreciate an update to keep in line with the new UI for the newer iPhones please! Functionality wise - it works well.

### 3/5 — Needs multiple location control

*2018-07-21, version 4.1*

It works well but lacks the ability to add multiple location control in the one app. We have two homes we go in between and have to use one phone for one location and another phone for another. Not to mention we had to buy to hubs which was around $300 each!

### 3/5 — Decent Overall

*2018-06-09, version 4.1*

Functionally this app is fine, given the few options there are for WiFi heater control. However, the UI is not exactly the freshest and has some issues with iPhone X. Would also like to see it work with HomeKit, which would also let you skip the UI in the app...

Overall review: functionality is fine, but it is in need of an update/overhaul to get it into the current decade. Thankfully once it’s setup and scheduled there are few reasons to need to go back into the app, so that’s a plus.

### 3/5 — Limited functionality

*2017-08-08, version 3.4*

The app needs to be able to control one unit as well as all of them. At the moment, you have to override them all to force them on which is not do handy if you only want to turn on one unit, eg the part of the house you're in.

Needs a drop down box on the first screen to select a zone or all zones.

### 2/5 — Feels outdated

*2022-05-20, version 5.0.46*

App seems to work well, setting times etc. It would be nice to see current room temperature too, regardless if heating or not. Is there a possibility of making it compatible with with smart home apps?
