## What is NoCam Film?

NoCam Film turns your phone into a 90s film camera. Photos are shot in RAW and developed with seven classic film looks, with real grain and a soft vignette.

Switch to video and record like an old camcorder: VHS, Hi8 or VHS-C, with an optional date stamp and a hidden custom title. There's also a fisheye lens for skate-video shots.

No accounts, no ads, no in-app purchases and no tracking. Your photos and videos are saved only to your phone's photo library.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-17

- Point the camera at a QR code from the lock screen, and a tapped link opens once you unlock
- QR codes with a bare address like example.com open as links, and app links open in their app
- Pinch to zoom moves smoothly between all your lenses, in photo and video, even while recording
- Each lens button jumps straight to that lens

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-13

- Photos show their thumbnail as soon as they're taken, bursts develop faster, and Lock Screen shots reach Photos when the app comes back
- The looks compare shows a daylight market in Catania instead of the beach portrait
- Turn each film and tape on or off, with a photo that compares the original to each look
- Turn each film and tape on or off, with a photo that compares the iPhone picture to each look
- Bring back every film and tape look ahead of a setting that turns each one on or off
- Fewer, more distinct looks: 7 films for photos and VHS, Super 8 and 16mm for video

### 1.0.4 — 2026-10-11

- The camera opens about 0.7 s sooner by building each look's color cube on first use
- iPhone 3G, 4 and 6 photo looks with each phone's resolution, sharpening and noise
- Photo mode reads QR codes; tap the chip to open the link or copy the text
- Velvia 50 and Ektachrome E100 slide films for photos, Super 8 and 16mm film for video

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-10

- Single shots develop about 400 ms faster by decoding the RAW once
- The viewfinder stays dark while a low-light burst is exposing, like the stock Camera's night mode
- Developing a photo no longer stalls the viewfinder
- Start the iOS camera while the launch animation runs, so the viewfinder shows its first frame in half the time
- New app icon, a black rangefinder with a single amber lens

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-09

- Coalesce camera error retries, cancel them on stop or start, and clear the start failure once frames arrive
- Every camera restart counts toward one cap, so a camera that keeps failing ends in a message
- The camera restarts itself when it comes up stalled, busy or reset, and the Lock Screen camera releases it when its scene ends
