All the anchorages, customs / immigration offices, laundry, provisioning, dinghy docks, local events and every other thing a live aboard sailor is looking for. Plus it has quickly become such a great tool for following new boats I've befriended in my travels. I get to chat with other boaters and keep in touch with the friends we have made. It’s a great way to connect and communicate. Also I can find other boats with kids to allow them to play with their cohorts. - one thing I just noticed that I would like to have is: the ability to “download or save image to device “ from the chat. I like sending our neighbors pictures of them that I have taken when we share experiences together like hiking or something. But when I receive photos from other people I cannot save the image. That would be cool for me personally. But not a deal breaker. Local knowledge of ports , anchorages and marinas to the ability to be able to find your friends. Couldn’t recommend this more to anyone serious considering taking up living in a boat full time. ### 5/5 — NFL=Polarsteps+Navily *2024-12-08* The best way to describe NFL is to consider combining the functionalities of both Polarsteps, for tracking your trip and posting stories, and Navily, for its community rating marinas and anchorages. I really like the various ways to track automatically the position of your vessel (personally I use NFL plugin with Signal-K). The app is feature rich with many functionalities, like chat, forums, articles, etc... Really a MUST have! NFL could be even better if it was possible to post more than one picture or videos in the stories. I set up an account and when I logged out at some point it doesn’t let me go back even after changing a password. Guide books, cruising guides and pilot books are instantly out of date. This has recent and up to date data and more for every location sailors are. I’ve been using the app since it came out and wouldn’t be without it. As a liveaboard cruiser this has become my first port of call (see what I did there?😉) for researching any new locations. ### 5/5 — The BEST Cruiser App *2026-07-02, version 1.18.0* ★★★★★ Absolutely love this app—I use it constantly. It’s so convenient for tracking my boat, looking back at where I’ve been, discovering new places, and keeping in touch with friends. Also handy for reaching out to fellow sailors in new locations. If you don’t have this, are you even really a cruiser? ### 5/5 — This is the reference for cruisers *2026-05-16, version 1.17.0* As a live aboard cruisers of 3.5 years, this is the app I use at least daily. It is basically Google Maps for Cruisers, showing anything relevant at pretty much any location around the world. From anchorages, to dinghy docks, groceries and sights to see, this app has that information. Best of all is that the data and reviews are crowdsourced by fellow cruisers, and because it is cruisers’ de facto app, it constantly gets updated. Built from the ground up by two tech savvy cruisers, which is why it fills this need so well. It is free and so good that it is supported by Patreon donations. ### 5/5 — A must have *2026-04-19, version 1.17.0* No Foreign Land, or NFL, is an absolute must for any sailor. The BEST resource for finding restaurants, laundry, water, fuel, and good anchoragesAll of which often determine our route. I’ve found it so helpful when researching anchorages. Also, we have a dog. And I can filter for good places to dock or beach the dingy for the dog. Also for connecting with other Boats that are in an anchorage I plan to visit.
